140,000 trapped by snow – Death toll rises past 550. A Tragedy unfolding in Europe – Is U.S. media trying to ignore it?

Well the global warming scam is on full steam ahead as they roll out the carbon tax later this year, yet in Europe people may be dying in the thousands under sub-zero conditions that haven’t been seen in two or three generations.  But you wouldn’t know what’s happening if you get your news from US mass media. The numbers of people trapped  and possibly frozen to death in their homes, is still unknown since so many homes are still buried under snow.

Below are a few articles from IceAgeNow.com where you can read more on the unprecedented cold weather in Europe, along with the last article about a press release from the Bilderberg 2010 meeting where not a word is mentioned concerning global warming. It’s global cooling that was on the agenda, all the more evidence of the scam behind the carbon tax and the threat of global warming from mankind.

Please spread this information out far and wide to help people wake up to the serious earth changes unfolding overseas and around the world.

Tragedy unfolding in Europe – Is U.S. media trying to ignore it?

By On February 13, 2012

“The cold snap in Europe, which began in late January, has killed hundreds and brought deep snow where it hasn’t been seen in decades,” says this article in the Seattle Times.

This should be front page news. Instead, the article doesn’t appear until page eight. And the title, “At least 3 killed in avalanche in Kosovo,” belies the seriousness of the situation. (The print version carries a different headline: “Cold snap, snow lock down Europe.”)

How about a headline that tells it like it is?

140,000 trapped by snow – Death toll rises past 550.

That headline would give readers a glimpse of what’s really happening in Europe, where snow drifts reaching above the rooftops have kept tens of thousands of villagers prisoners in their own homes.

Now, I’ll admit that once you get past the ho-hum headline and down to the third paragraph, the Seattle Times article gets to the harsh truth.

You learn that in Montenegro, “the heaviest snow in 63 years sealed off hundreds of villages, shut down roads and railways and closed the main airport.” And you learn that “It was the biggest snowfall in the capital since 1949.”

You also learn that “boat traffic on the frozen Danube river — one of Europe’s key waterways — has been unable to move for the longest time in recent memory.” (Italics added.)

The rest of the article is quite informative, and I appreciate that.

But it’s that “cold snap” thing that bugs me.

Did all of the world’s journalists go to “cold snap” school?

If temperatures go up by a hundredth of a degree they scream “global warming.” But if, heaven forbid, it’s record cold and record snow? “Well, let’s just call it a cold snap.”

Would you call it a “cold snap” when more than 100 vessels become trapped in icy waters of the Sea of Azov? That’s what Reuters called it. “A fierce cold snap with temperatures of about -25C (-13 F) caused large parts of the Azov Sea to freeze,” said Reuters.

Would you call it a “cold snap” when more than 2,000 roads in Turkey are blocked by heavy snows? That’s what the Google News headline announced. The article itself was very good, speaking of brutal cold and record low temperatures, but – “cold snap”?

Would you call it a “cold snap” when people have to cut tunnels through 15 feet of snow to get out of their homes? “Eastern Europe has been pummeled by a record-breaking cold snap,” says this otherwise great AP article.

Look at these headlines. Are these the result of a “cold snap”?

No, this is no mere cold snap. There’s a tragedy unfolding in Europe, and the world needs to know.

Please forward this article to everyone you can.

140,000 trapped by snow – Death toll rises past 550

By
February 11, 2012 ·

“Snow drifts reaching up to rooftops kept tens of thousands of villagers prisoners in their own homes Saturday,” says this article on Yahoo.com.

“Authorities said an estimated 30,000 people were still cut off in Romania, and more than 110,000 in the Balkan countries, including 60,000 in Montenegro, nearly 10 percent of the population.”

Montenegro’s capital of Podgorica was brought to a standstill by 20 inches (50 cm) of snow, a 50-year record, and snow measured three feet (one meter) deep in higher villages on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica.

Even in Italy’s far southern Calabria region – the so-called “toe” of Italy – many villages were cut off, and in spite of air drops, food threatened to run out in some Romanian villages.

Forecasters expect the “cold snap”, which started two weeks ago, to continue until mid-February.

(I don’t know they can label such a disastrous weather pattern a “cold snap.”)

It’s the longest “cold-snap” in Belgium in 70 years.

NibiruMagick 2012′s Climate Change Update (07 February 201: European Deep Freeze, #2 Reactor Trouble Fukushima, Phillipine Earthquake

I’ve been watching this NibiruMagick do these updates for over a year now and lately he appears to be having a hard time with all the chaos and insanity unfolding at this time, hope he’s not burning out. Most people have no idea how difficult it can be doing this work day in and day out, or the difficulty in maintaining a positive outlook when having to deal with depressing information all the time. Last year I went thru a very depressed phase where it was hard to separate the work here from my personal life, I even questioned if this was “spiritually healthy” work and was I doing the right thing for my own health. Being of Service to Others is key to changing the world, but not at the expense of one’s well being. Also as an empath this work can be very hard and I sense the same nature in Nibiru Magick, so please lets all send love and light energy his way. Drop in at his YouTube channel by clicking his name below, just under the video and say hi…kudo’s, good job etc. Thank you!  In lak’ech, Annette

Europe tries to shield homeless from deep freeze

Russia and Ukraine took extra precautions on Friday to protect homeless people during a brutal cold snap, ordering new facilities and medical care after scores of people have frozen to death on the streets of Europe.

As the death toll from the past week rose to at least 175 on Friday, Russian Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the creation of facilities nationwide to feed and provide medical assistance to the homeless.

The week-long freeze – Eastern Europe’s worst in decades – is causing power outages, frozen water pipes and widespread closure of schools, nurseries, airports and bus routes.

Other parts of Europe experienced frigid temperatures unseen in years. A roundup:

Ukraine

In the hardest-hit country, health officials have told hospitals to stop discharging the hundreds of homeless patients after they are treated for hypothermia and frostbite. The goal is to prevent them from dying once they are released into temperatures as low as minus 32 Celsius (minus 26 Fahrenheit).

Authorities also have set up nearly 3,000 heating and food shelters.

Thirty-eight more fatalities were reported from frostbite and hypothermia in Ukraine on Friday, raising the nation’s death toll to 101. Emergency officials have said many of the victims were homeless.

Bosnia

Bosnia reported its first deaths. Five people died Friday in Sarajevo, most of them while shoveling snow, Dr. Tigran Elezovic said, and one person died in the southern city of Mostar, where ambulances could not reach the victim because of snow.

Rome

Thick snowflakes fell on Rome on Friday, forcing the closure of the Colosseum over fears tourists would slip on the icy ruins, and leaving buses struggling to climb the city’s slushy hills.

The snowfall prompted authorities to stop visitors from entering the Colosseum, the adjacent Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, the former home of Rome’s ancient emperors.

Authorities appealed to Italians to stay off highways, as the cold snap was predicted to continue well into the next week.

Northern Italy also has been gripped by snow and ice that is disrupting train travel.

Netherlands

Police in the eastern city of Wageningen reported that a homeless man found dead Thursday in a shed died of hypothermia, making him the first confirmed Dutch victim of the cold.

Traffic around the Netherlands was thrown into chaos Friday by snow. Trains ran with long delays and several flights in and out of Schiphol were delayed or canceled.

Poland

The Interior Ministry recorded eight more deaths on Friday and said two other people died of asphyxiation from carbon monoxide-spewing charcoal heaters.

Croatia and Montenegro

In Croatia, some highways were closed and waters of the Adriatic Sea froze in some areas. Buses that travel from Zagreb, the capital, toward the coast have been canceled. In Montenegro, the airport in the capital, Podgorica, was closed due to heavy snow.

US – Fearsome Friday Forecast: Colorado Blizzard & Tornado Threats

Snow in Denver

© Stephanie Pappas
Snow day in Denver! A plow works in De Boer Park to clear snow from today’s blizzard.
Six more weeks of winter, eh? The bizarre weather outside is more like spring, with a blizzard in Denver and tornado warnings and watches elsewhere all in the same day.

One day after the groundhog Punxsutawney Phil “forecasted” six more weeks of winter, a potentially record-breaking blizzard is socking Denver today (Feb. 3). By the time the storm passes on Sunday, it could set a February snowfall record in the city. This storm is odd because big snowstorms in Denver are actually more common in spring than winter.

And more springlike weather is sweeping across the southern United States as well, with tornado watches and warnings under way from Oklahoma to Louisiana.

Rare winter storm

In the Denver, a foot (0.3 meters) of snow has fallen this morning, forcing schools to cancel classes and grounding more than 400 flights at Denver International Airport, according to AccuWeather. With temperatures around 10 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 12 degrees Celsius), winds of 40 mph (64 kph), and whiteout conditions due to snow falling at rates of up to 2 inches (5 cm) an hour, the weather in Denver is downright nasty.

Adding insult to injury, the snow is falling east of the Continental Divide, where many ski resorts are, so they will get little benefit from the blizzard.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Denver until 5 a.m. Mountain Time (7 a.m. EST) tomorrow (Feb. 4). Close to 2 feet (0.6 m) of snow could fall by then.

This blizzard is unusual for Denver because big storms typically hit here in the fall and spring, not the winter, according to the Weather Channel’s Eric Fisher (A wild snowstorm hit Denver this past October).

Southern ‘spring’

Springlike conditions are also sweeping the South, with a tornado watch in effect this morning for parts of central Oklahoma and the southeastern Texas panhandle.

“We have a fairly warm and somewhat unstable air mass over the area right now and that’s partly contributing to the rounds of severe weather,” said meteorologist Andy Patrick with the National Weather Service office in Lake Charles, La.

Earlier this morning, tornado warnings were issued for parts of the Texas-Louisiana border, but no tornadoes were reported to the nation’s Storm Prediction Center. This springlike weather will continue to move east throughout the weekend, and “could make it somewhat favorable for some tornadoes,” Patrick told OurAmazingPlanet.

A “tornado watch” is issued by the NWS when conditions in the atmosphere are favorable for tornadoes. A “tornado warning” is issued when a tornado has been spotted or after radar suggests that a tornado has formed. A “tornado emergency” is the highest level of warning, and is issued when a large, violent tornado could cause widespread damage.

While winter in much of the United States has been wimpy with little cold or snow, January saw above-average tornado action. January tornadoes are not as common as spring tornadoes, but severe weather can strike any time of the year.

Central Alabama, where tornadoes took a deadly toll in 2011, is braving the twisters again in 2012. Alabama had 10 tornadoes on Jan. 23 and another one on Jan. 26. The tornadoes included an EF-3 on the tornado damage scale, and three people were killed during the outbreak.
