Sumatra Volcanoes May Pack Deadly Punch

Sumatra, Earth’s sixth-largest island, spied from space.
The oft-disaster-battered island of Sumatra may have yet another threat to add to the roster of natural phenomena that afflict the Indonesian island: colossal volcanic eruptions.

Although Sumatra residents are likely well-acquainted with the string of volcanoes that line the Indian Ocean island’s western coastline, new research has revealed that some of these volcanoes are capable of far more violence than once thought.

“Our study found some of the first evidence that the region has a much more explosive history than perhaps has been appreciated,” said Oregon State University’s (OSU) Morgan Salisbury, lead author of research recently published in the Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research.

“Sumatra has a number of active and potentially explosive volcanoes, and many show evidence of recent activity,” Salisbury said in a statement. However, he added, most of the eruptions are small, so little attention has been paid to the potential for a catastrophic eruption.

In 2007, OSU professor Chris Goldfinger led an expedition to Sumatra to dig up evidence of earthquakes that had rocked the region in the past.

During the field work, the OSU team, along with Indonesian colleagues, stumbled upon unmistakable evidence of volcanic ash and began conducting a parallel investigation into the region’s volcanic history.

The researchers unearthed the signatures of six major volcanic eruptions that hit Sumatra over the past 35,000 years. Most equaled – or surpassed – the explosive intensity of Mount St. Helens’ deadly 1980 eruption.

Some of the eruptions dumped ash as far as 185 miles (300 kilometers) away.

Sumatra has more than 30 potentially active volcanoes. And although the mountains do erupt, occasionally belching forth ash and gas, Goldfinger said, residents may not be aware of the potential for catastrophic violence that lurks within the peaks.

In 2004, the Indian Ocean island was devastated by an earthquake and an ensuing tsunami that killed more than 200,000 people around the world.

“Prior to 2004, the risk from a major earthquake was not widely appreciated except, perhaps, in some of the more rural areas,” Goldfinger said in a statement. “And earthquakes happen more frequently than major volcanic eruptions.”

Mexico’s Popocatépetl Sleeping Volcano Awakens

A plume of steam rises from the Popocatepetl volcano seen from the city of Puebla, Mexico, Saturday April 14, 2012.
Popocatépetl, the nearly 18,000 foot volcano that hovers like a sentinel on the southeastern fringe of Mexico’s capital, awakened again Sunday, punctuating an especially shaky seismic season.

Popo, as the mountain is widely called, spewed at least seven exhalations overnight Saturday and through the day Sunday, sending vapor, smoke and gas billowing into the clear sky. The most serious occurred just after 9 a.m. Sunday, sending a vapor cloud a mile into the air.

Mexico’s National Disaster Prevention Center issued a precautionary warning to residents, advising them to stay alert for a worsening situation and to keep at least seven miles away from the volcano’s crater.

The service predicted continuing “moderate exhalations, some with ash, sporadic low to moderate explosions with likely burning fragments emitted close to the crater, and flaming magma within the crater visible at night.”

Popo’s latest fuming comes amid a series of earthquakes striking southern and central Mexico in the past three weeks. Several 6 magnitude quakes struck Wednesday, but no damage. A midday 7.4 quake on March 20 damaged hundreds of buildings in Oaxaca and Guerrero states and sent hundreds of thousands of residents scrambling into Mexico City’s streets.

The volcano, whose full name means Smoking Mountain in the Nahuatl tongue of the Aztecs, is a fairly active volcano, with such exhalations occurring regularly. Events like Sunday’s serve to prevent more dangerous pressure from building inside the volcano, scientists say.

Popo experienced similar moderate activity several times in 2011 and again at the beginning of this year.

Though more than 40 miles from downtown Mexico City , Popo and its adjoining snow-capped sister mountain, Iztaccihuatl dominate the Valley of Mexico and the surrounding highlands, home to some 25 million people.

Mexico City’s teeming working class suburbs now lick at the mountains’ base. The city of Puebla, home to 1 million people, stands a few dozen miles from the volcano eastern slopes.

Aztec legend held that Popocatepetl was a warrior deeply in love with Izta, whose silhouette can resemble a sleeping woman from the right angles. Sent by her father to battle to prove his worth, Popo was falsely reported killed. Iztaccihuatl died grief-stricken. When he returned from battle, Popo hunched next to her body, bowed his head and died of heartbreak.

Two volcanoes in Costa Rica now reporting increased activity

Extinction Protocol ~ Posted on April 16, 2012
April 16, 2012COSTA RICA – Thursday last the Turrialba sent experts scurrying to analyze the recent activity at the colossus southeast of San José. On Saturday, however, the Volcán Rincón de la Vieja, decided on a rumble of its own. It was around 2pm when residents heard the rumbles from the volcano located north of San José in the province of Guanacaste. Maria Martinez, volcanologist from the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), explained that the phreatic eruption occurred at the lake and spewed water and sediment over the outer edge on the north side of the volcano. Authorities recommend not to approach the area and do not rule a new explosion. The entrance to the national park is closed. Both OVSICORI as the National Emergency Commission (CNE) will continue to closely monitor the volcano.  –Inside Costa Rica

Dutchsinse: Special THANKS – HAARP rings/Scalar Squares, Volcanic Plumes, Man made earthquakes

Even though I respect much of his work, what Dutch doesn’t get is that half of the vitriol has stemmed from people who tried to work with him. We found his ego is difficult to collaborate with especially when you disagree with him – on anything. A few months back after partnering up on a project, even NibiruMagick 2012 got frustrated and threw in the hat.

Anyone doing controversial research is bound to take truckloads of criticism (in this case, some valid) and character assassination – deal with it, stop whining and playing into peoples hand who are on the attack.
Which was also advise he asked for when the attacks began last year, but he never listened too.

The main reason for posting this video is USGS confirmation that plume activity has begun taking place, although they’re not being open about the extent that it’s taking place. At least there’s acknowledgement that’s it’s happening so people in plume areas can take necessary precautions. Thanks Karen!

A very special thanks to all those who stood behind me even when there was NO additional supporting evidence… oh what a difference a few months makes !!

This past week has vindicated us on many levels… a .PDF paper from Stanford University… FULLY COVERING THE PHENOMENON that we’ve been documenting since last year… the ‘HAARP ring’..’stairstep pattern’.. and ‘Scalar Square’ RADAR signature patterns. VERIFIED via scientific paper directly relating to HAARP.

Here is the full .PDF…. Page 2, section 2, subsection 11 clearly states the types of geometric patterns that are projected into the sky from the ground based HF (high frequency) station heater…. used to HEAT the lower ionosphere .. producing the typical patterns we have been seeing on RADAR which induce severe weather.

http://www-star.stanford.edu/~vlf/publications/2008-03.pdf

Turns out these are what ‘THEY’ call these same HAARP signatures …. Square Wave, Sawtooth Pattern, and Circle Sweep mode.

If you haven’t put it together yet… Scalar Squares = Square Wave, stairstep pattern = sawtooth pattern , and HAARP ring = Circle Sweep.

2nd thing to be vindicated this week was PREPLANNED EARTHQUAKES / Man made events …. the mexico 7.9 magnitude was indeed pre-planned for over a month before hand…. to the DAY, MINUTE, HOUR, exact COUNTRY, exact magnitude …

Here is the full post PROVING this to be the case: http://sincedutch.wordpress.com/2012/03/21/3202012-alert-mexico-7-9m-earthqua…

And also proved correct on volcanic plumes coming from dormant volcanic spots:

Dutchsinse: 3/30/2012 — Giant plume of something in Arkansas — no analysis — just video

Uploaded by on Mar 30, 2012

here are the coordinates of the general plume epicenter.. SULPHUR MOUNTAIN… hmm… 36° 5’37.42″N , 93° 2’18.12″W

Since when do “control burns” cause shockwaves or mini-storm fronts? .. borderline plume fallout —to me, it looks like an ash pyroclastic flow from above.. whatever it is.. it plumes up and then billows out.. and then becomes top heavy and “falls out” into a “flow” .. much like an ash cloud during an eruption would do.

no analysis — you can form your own opinion on what this is… at this point.. im tired of being the whipping boy for delivering the video on the occurrence .. you decide for yourself.. you think this is a fire.. fine.. you think this is a thunderstorm.. fine.. you think this is military testing.. fine.. you think this is volcanic activity.. fine.. you think this is related to fracking.. fine.. you think this is just a foggy day.. FINE…

whatever.. Im just showing you whats on satellite that stands out as odd.

Dutchsinse: 3/27/2012 Dozens of plumes erupt across 10 states at the same time – 18:15UTC / 2:15pm CDT

I was in the Oklahoma City area on March 27 watching chemtrail planes lay fake cloud cover and a haze over the entire region, they were still flying well into the next day when I flew out early in the afternoon. On Monday the skies were a nice clear light blue, by Wednesday they were white/light blue and covered in a nasty haze – the small wispy clouds didn’t even look real.

Unfortunately, you couldn’t get me off the mainland quick enough! I never appreciated living here on the big island than after three days in Oklahoma witnessing how many people there are living like walking zombies, how completely oblivious people are to  what’s being done to them. What’s worse, is they don’t seem to care!

Anyway, I bring all this up because it’s not clear how much of the activity Dutch see’s here is actually plumes of steam or possibly even chemtrail activity.

There are MANY more in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

The way to find the plume epicenter is simple

this is NOT the first plume event we have witnessed. Be aware of a possible earthquake ramification for this event.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the recent “rumble” and “underground explosion” reports around the USA… Wisconsin and Georgia are two examples… I think these events may actually all be related.

Personally, first hand account from my wife and I… yesterday (3/26/2012).. we felt several “rumbles” on the south side of Saint Louis Missouri… especially this afternoon. NOT a jet… clearly from the ground only… made a few things shake. I checked the charts and NOTHING showed at the CERI/SLU helicorder located at St. Louis University in downtown StL.

Did we “feel” the eruption of the event in southeast missouri today? I’m waiting to see if others report anything similar.. but the times sure match.

To see the other events and proof for their craton / volcanic / deep earth origin.. here is a link below:

Strong M8.4 Class Flare/Earth Directed, Earthquakes and Volcanic Eruptions Heating up!

Yesterday, March 9, a friend sent images of the HAARP magnetometer graph with readings that were off the charts, unfortunately  when I tried to click through to get a better image the link didn’t work properly. It looks like the PTW are attempting to take advantage of the solar flares, full moon and mercury retrograde to incite a seismic event. “Where” is the question and there have certainly been a rash of sizable quakes the last few days since the solar flares began. Volcanic eruptions are on the rise this week too, we’re in an uptick now!

Dutchsinse: 3/1/2012 — Plumes erupt from New Madrid Seismic Zone, 2.9M quake follows.. more coming?

From: dutchsinse  | Mar 1, 2012  | 304 views

original text report from Luann Gogglin Patterson (on facebook) many thanks to her for catching the plumes AND REPORTING IT so it can get out on video…

Big plume in southern MO right now. And crazy CT’s in northeast MO too.
Michael Janitch
checking now…. !!! you rock for reporting this.. no one else is saying anything!
Michael Janitch
you are a freakin’ HERO !!! i give you a shout out in my video processing now.. your report BEFORE the earthquake hit in the new madrid just now.. GOOD WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!”

I recorded a whole video on the plumes .. then as the video was processing .. a 2.9M earthquake struck the New Madrid Seismic Zone (TN and AR border).

The plume area in Arkansas is coming from near the dormant volcanic chain which includes Murfreesboro Diamond mine state park … a dormant volcano where you can dig for diamonds.

Also in south-east Missouri — there resides a dormant volcano — not marked on any map.. but you can see the county (i have done this already myself) .. go look up that county on google earth .. and look for the ONLY standalone mountain in the area.. zoom in… and you will see it … clearly an UNMARKED or UNKNOWN dormant volcano.. (for sure unnamed).

The whole event happened this afternoon (March 1, 2012) — viewable on College of Dupage (or any other visible satellite of the midwest USA) …

To view the event still live on satellite feed… select the 1km visible satellite view of Arkansas … do this ASAP before its gone into archives…
