Bank of India shares tumble due to technical glitch at NSE

ANOTHER stock market glitch…right in the midst of heightened solar activity!

Feb 05, 2013

ReutersShares in Bank of India make a sharp fall before quickly recovering in what some traders describe as a “freak” trade. Trading at Rs 336.65, down 1.2 per cent, Bank of India shares suddenly fell to Rs 314, down 7.8 per cent on the day, at around 12:20 pm IST. The shares, however, recover to Rs 337.35.

On February 1, shares of Tata Motors and Ultratech Cement fell as much as 10 per cent due to a technology glitch at Religare Capital that caused “unintended transactions”, the brokerage said.

The National Stock Exchange, where the Bank of India trade occurred, did not have any immediate comment.

Jerusalem – One Million People Without Cell Service As Pelephone Network Crashes

Incoming space weather is likely the culprit, this is happening more and more as the energy’s intensify. Susan Rennison brings this subject up quite frequently and has been sounding the alarm to global leaders to pay attention to warnings the ancients left behind for us in stone telling us about space weather and the changes we needed to prepare for.

Jerusalem – Service for one of Israel’s largest cellphone providers has been disrupted.

In a message on its website, Pelephone said the service went down Sunday evening and that it was investigating the malfunction.

It was not clear what caused the disruption, although Israeli media speculated it could be anything from a technical issue to a cyber attack.

Users complained that they were unable to place or receive calls. The company says data services were not affected.

In 2010, another major Israeli cellphone service provider went down for several hours. The cause of that malfunction was never resolved.

SOLAR ACTIVITY UPDATE: Filament Lift-Off/CME (Jan 23rd, 2013).

QUIET SUN: With the departure of sunspot AR1654, a new spell of low solar activity is underway. NOAA forecasters put the odds of a strong solar flare today at less than 5%.http://www.spaceweather.com/

SOLAR ACTIVITY UPDATE: Fast Growing Sunspot/Eruptions/CMEs (Dec 8th, 2012).

Published on Dec 8, 2012

ANOTHER ERUPTION MISSES EARTH: Magnetic fields around departing sunspot AR1621 became unstable and erupted during the late hours of Dec. 7th, hurling a bulb of plasma off the sun’s western limb. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded its departure. Earth was not in the line of fire. No auroras or other space weather effects will be felt as a result of the blast. Overall, solar activity is very low. The face of the sun is nearly blank (few sunspots) and NOAA forecasters estimate a slight 1% chance of strong flares during the next 24 hours. http://www.spaceweather.com

125 Scientists Address UN Secretary General’s Position on Climate Change with “Open Letter”

The veil continues to lift as more people wake up to the reality of extreme climate change…

Massive solar flare could have caused eighth century radiation burst
Nature Blogs, 28th November 2012
A mysterious spike in atmospheric carbon-14 levels 12 centuries ago might be a sign the Sun is capable of producing solar storms dozens of times worse than anything we’ve ever seen, a team of physicists calculates in a paper published this week in Nature.

Carbon-14 (14C) is created when high-energy radiation strikes the Earth’s upper atmosphere, converting nitrogen-14 into 14C, which eventually makes its way into plants via photosynthesis.

Earlier this year, a team of Japanese physicists discovered a spike in 14C in tree rings of Japanese cedars dating from the 774–75 growing season. But they were unable to explain where that 14C might have come from because all possible explanations appeared unlikely.

But Adrian Melott, a physicist at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, who is the lead author of the new study, says that the Japanese team made a miscalculation in ruling out one of these possibilities — a giant solar storm. [...]

If the 774–75 event was indeed a flare, it’s a disturbing find. Such a flare would be about 60 times more powerful than the 1989 solar storm that knocked out power to much of Quebec for nine hours on a cold winter night. Multiply that by 60 and add two decades of increased technological vulnerability, and the effects might be disastrous. “A lot of people could die,” Melott says. “You could have power out for months or longer — no refrigerated food, no food being transported to all the people who live in big cities.”

Rennison’s Comment:
Hmmm…. More evidence that something major happened around that time that caused major disruption for life on Earth, it might explain the problem with the calendars too…

OPEN CLIMATE LETTER TO UN SECRETARY-GENERAL: Current scientific knowledge does not substantiate Ban Ki-Moon assertions on weather and climate, say 125-plus scientists.
Financial Post, 28th November 2012
Policy actions that aim to reduce CO2 emissions are unlikely to influence future climate. Policies need to focus on preparation for, and adaptation to, all dangerous climatic events, however caused

Open Letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations

H.E. Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General, United Nations
First Avenue and East 44th Street, New York, New York, U.S.A.
November 29, 2012

Mr. Secretary-General:

On November 9 this year you told the General Assembly: “Extreme weather due to climate change is the new normal … Our challenge remains, clear and urgent: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to strengthen adaptation to … even larger climate shocks … and to reach a legally binding climate agreement by 2015 … This should be one of the main lessons of Hurricane Sandy.”

SOLAR ACTIVITY UPDATE: New Sunspots/Sunspot Genesis (Aug 26th, 2012)

Published on Aug 25, 2012 by

Solar activity was low. Region 1554 (N15W00) produced
one C1/Sf flare at 0236Z. No CMEs observed in the past 24 hours are
expected to be geoeffective. New Region 1555 (N09E69) was numbered
overnight and has developed into a Dao type spot group with a beta
magnetic configuration.
