The Secret Is Out. Spread the Word.
The documentary, The Cove, helped to expose the slaughter of more than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises off the coast of Japan every year, and how their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is sold as food in Japan and other parts of Asia often labeled as whale meat. The majority of the world continues to be unaware this is happening.
On September 1, the six-month dolphin hunting season opened again, and fishermen in Taiji have taken to the cove despite international pressure. But there’s hope: media attention seems to be the most effective way to reduce number of deaths. That’s why we need your help!
