The Clinical Impact of Vitamin C: My Personal Experiences as a Physician

Is the healing power of Vitamin C too good to be true? Can this inexpensive and convenient vitamin improve and heal the toughest of ailments?

My ongoing relationship with vitamin C now spans a full 20 years, when I first met Dr. Hal Huggins, a pioneering dentist who opened my eyes to a wide array of clinical approaches to different diseases with hitherto unheard-of clinical results at his clinic in Colorado Springs. I can honestly say that my first visit to his clinic began the most meaningful part of my medical education. Nothing has been the same since. My office where I practiced adult cardiology ended up being shuttered shortly after that first visit. And I have never looked back.

While there are many things I learned from Dr. Huggins, and there were many areas I then ended up exploring because of what he taught me, the single most important thing I learned from him was the incredible ability of vitamin C to improve or heal so many conditions. Without exception, seriously ill patients, often with such diseases as Parkinson’s, ALS, Alzheimer’s, MS, and atherosclerosis, almost always had extensive dental toxicity in the form of root canal-treated teeth, infected dental implants, mercury amalgams, extensive cavitational osteonecrosis, and/or advanced periodontal disease. Each of these individuals had anywhere from three to five sessions of extensive dental work, typically involving a great deal of dental surgery along with the inevitable exposure to the toxins associated with anaerobic dental infections and the inescapable assimilation of some mercury vapor if amalgams were being removed. However, all of these patients received 50-gram (50,000 mg) infusions of vitamin C administered continuously before, during, and following the dental sessions. In patients with diseases that I had been led to believe could not really be improved upon, dramatic clinical improvement was routinely apparent immediately following the dental sessions.

While I knew the removal of dental toxicity was very important in their clinical improvements, watching these patients perk up after their first vitamin C infusion was extraordinary. Most healthy people I knew just wanted to go to bed after hours of extensive dental work. On at least one memorable occasion, after the first vitamin C infusion was complete, one especially sickly patient immediately began talking with her caregiver about what restaurant they could go to that evening to enjoy a meal. This patient had several teeth extracted, but was still looking forward to attacking a steak with the remaining teeth in her mouth. On a few priceless occasions, I even saw some wheelchair-bound patients take a few steps, with assistance, before they finished their two-week treatment period at the clinic.

Seeing was believing, and I realized the entire way that I approached patient care simply had to change. I needed to learn a lot more about the intravenous delivery of this molecule known as ascorbic acid, or ascorbate. I resolved to research this vitamin as completely as possible, learn the nuances of that research as best I could, and then proceed to spread the word on the application of this incredibly potent, inexpensive, and non-toxic substance.

Research

Many of the “leads” that I followed in accumulating the many thousands of abstracts and articles came from the 1972 ground-breaking book by Irwin Stone entitled, The Healing Factor: “Vitamin C” Against Disease. Stone obtained forewords for his book by the renowned Nobel Prize winners, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, who had discovered vitamin C in 1932, and Linus Pauling, who pretty much put vitamin C into the public eye as nobody else has been able to do.

In order not to miss any significant information published in the medical literature about vitamin C since the publication of Stone’s book, I entered the term “ascorbic acid” into the search engine of PubMed, and list of about 24,000 articles appeared. I gave all of these articles careful consideration in documenting the many clinical effects and laboratory effects of vitamin C. What began to emerge as I proceeded to review these thousands of articles was that vitamin C is more important than any other treatment for infection or exposure to toxin. Probably most impressive was the fact that vitamin C in test tube experiments had always neutralized any toxin to which it was exposed, regardless of the chemical structure of the toxin.

The validation and enormous importance of much of this test tube research came from the work of Frederick Klenner, MD in North Carolina. His clinical experience demonstrated how vitamin C was just as effective in the body as in the test tube in neutralizing or negating the toxic impact of whatever toxin the patient was exposed to. Snake venom, heavy metals, pesticides, cyanide, alcohol, carbon monoxide were all neutralized. The results that Dr. Klenner reported with infections were also astounding, as vitamin C, properly administered, proved to be the ultimate virucidal agent, curing all acute viral infections. These viral infections remain incurable by the standard approaches of modern medicine today. Furthermore, Klenner showed that vitamin C was also very effective in the treatment of many non-viral infections, improving the efficacy of treatment by antibiotics and other medications administered today. While I have seen but a fraction of the types of conditions that Dr. Klenner described, I fully believe the accuracy of everything Dr. Klenner published. I have applied vitamin C treatment to many patients with conditions similar to those treated by Dr. Klenner, along with several other conditions that Dr. Klenner did not have the opportunity to treat. With the perspective of this clinical experience, I have little reason to doubt any of the fabulous outcomes that he reported.

What I Have Witnessed

I recall here some of the most dramatic anecdotes about the healing power of vitamin C in the hope of conveying to the reader what an extraordinary addition it can be to the clinical options of any medical doctor. Shortly after the vitamin C book was completed and published, I began a limited clinical practice with a few colleagues. The circumstances were pretty much ideal for me, as I was able to give or prescribe intravenous vitamin C as needed.

Severe Influenza

In 2003 Denver was in the middle of a flu epidemic that infected over 6,000 individuals and ended up killing more than ten children and infants. In this setting, a slender but healthy 26-year-old woman developed a persistent fatigue that continued to progress. After a month of this ongoing fatigue she fell severely ill very quickly, with the classical flu-like symptoms of fever, chills, muscle aches and pains, headaches, and nausea. She tried in vain to deal with her symptoms and still go to school. However, after about a week of these symptoms and trying to maintain a normal level of activity, she only had the energy to stay in bed.

She remained in bed for the next ten weeks. Even her short trips to the bathroom depleted what little energy she had, as the out-of-bed excursions would cause her to feel feverish and would worsen her headaches. When I first saw her, she had lost 20% of her body weight, going from 100 pounds down to about 80 pounds. In response to a plea from her caregiver, I made a house call to her with my office manager/assistant, and we administered her first vitamin C IV there. I found her primarily just emaciated and appearing very malnourished. There was no evidence of liver enlargement or enlarged lymph nodes. Her bloodwork suggested a past Epstein-Barr virus infection, and it was reasoned that this chronic viral infection had just made her all the more susceptible to the epidemic of flu that was working its way through Denver and the rest of Colorado.

Her first IV consisted primarily of 50 grams of vitamin C as sodium ascorbate in 1,000 cc of lactated Ringer’s solution infused slowly over a period of about three hours. Six grams of glutathione was added toward the end of the infusion. The next five infusions contained 100 grams of sodium ascorbate, completed by the six grams of glutathione.

The morning after the first IV she was free of headaches for the first time in three months, and she felt much stronger. However, by the second infusion, she was able to walk a bit around the house. By the morning after the third infusion, she was able to walk outside and enjoy a little sunshine. She was able to walk into the clinic for her fourth infusion and subsequent treatments. She felt completely normal the day after the fourth infusion, but two more infusions over two more days were administered to prevent the possibility of relapse. An oral regimen of supplementation was started, and she was discharged from regular care.

Of

particular importance in understanding the amount of vitamin C needed to effectively cure this patient’s chronic/acute viral syndrome is to note the patient’s weight of 80 pounds when first seen. 100 grams of vitamin C in a 80-pound patient is equivalent to 250 grams in a 200-pound patient. Further, the efficacy of the vitamin C was enhanced by the glutathione administration. Our conclusion from many similar cases was that any viral syndrome not resolving with vitamin C was almost always due to inadequate total dose, along with the virus not being readily accessible by the molecules of vitamin C, as in chronic hepatitis. A terminal (not early stage) case of a dangerous virus such as Ebola in a nutrient-depleted body might require even higher doses of vitamin C for clinical resolution, depending upon body size.

H1N1 Influenza

A New Zealand farmer contracted H1N1 influenza in 2009. Well-documented on New Zealand’s version of 60 Minutes, this individual had progressed to the point of being on life support, and the doctors had nothing further to offer.

A family member contacted me to ask what to do, and I advised intravenous vitamin C, 50 grams or more daily, immediately. However, I did not think there was any chance that the hospital or doctors would allow such treatment.

After an enormous struggle, the family finally got the doctor in charge to give vitamin C before “pulling the plug.” 25 grams of vitamin C was given intravenously the first day, 50 grams the second day, 75 grams the third day, and then 100 grams daily for 4 to 5 more days. At that point a new doctor in charge of the case discontinued the vitamin C completely, for unclear reasons, even though the patient was clearly responding, waking up, and dramatically clearing up the previous “white-out” state seen in chest X-rays of his congested lungs. A full week later, intravenous vitamin C was restarted at a mere one gram twice daily. But for the docs who thought the vitamin C was a foolish intervention, the proof of its efficacy was already at hand.

Pulmonary Embolism

While visiting Colombia, South America, I had the opportunity to see a 30-year-old woman who was bedridden and appearing to be in imminent danger of dying. She had been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism, and both of her legs were tender and swollen, appearing ready to set loose further emboli that would seal her fate. She was already on Coumadin anticoagulation, and her blood tests indicated the thinning of her blood was optimal.

Since I had brought some supplies with me on this trip in order to give a few selected friends (as well as myself) some intravenous vitamin C, I decided to try to help this individual out as best I could. While I was concerned about the vitamin C neutralizing the anticoagulant effects of the Coumadin, I was hoping to relieve her suffering a bit. I proceeded to give her 50 grams of vitamin C over about three hours. She tolerated the infusion well.

The following afternoon I returned to give her another vitamin C infusion. Her improvement was nearly miraculous. She was sitting up in bed and combing her hair, as she had just gotten out of bed and taken a shower on her own.

On the fourth day, following the third infusion, she was smiling and very pleased to report how good her legs were feeling. I was very pleased, but I was also concerned over the possibility of relapse, as I could not continue the IV infusions. She did continue to improve, however, as I left her with several months worth of vitamin C powder, taken at 2,000 mg daily.

West Nile Virus

I have treated two cases of West Nile virus, and both responded very dramatically. A Colorado man in his 60s had already been sick for a month or two when he went to his local hospital and ended up testing positive for West Nile virus. His symptoms included persistent headaches, a bit of disorientation, and a low-grade fever. Upon arrival at my clinic, he was given 75 grams of vitamin C intravenously followed by 6 grams of glutathione intravenously. He was also given a hyperbaric oxygen treatment. By 36 hours post-treatment, he felt completely normal and remained so.

Another man in his 50s contracted the West Nile virus and presented with a history of chronic virus-associated symptoms over the preceding six months. He received three infusions of vitamin C on consecutive days and reported having no further symptoms after the completion of the third infusion. There was no clinical relapse, and the cure was complete. He commented that the whole experience seemed “like a miracle.”

Infectious Mononucleosis

Two college students presented with chronic infectious mononucleosis. Both had been sick for months, primarily with severe fatigue, and they had already dropped out of their classes, not having the energy to continue. Both received several 50-gram infusions of vitamin C and had prompt, complete resolution of their chronic infections and persistent symptoms.

Acute Lyme Disease

A young woman in Pennsylvania was bitten by a pathogen-carrying tick, developed the classical Lyme-associated rash, and proceeded to get very ill over the next seven to ten days. She received several infusions of vitamin C at her house. The first infusion was 100 grams, and her caregiver reported that she seemed much improved upon the completion of that infusion. Five more infusions of 50 grams each were given over the next two days. By the time that 72 hours had passed, she was completely well, never having a clinical relapse or any chronic Lyme symptoms.

Chronic Lyme Disease

A woman with a 12-year history of chronic Lyme disease, documented by blood testing, desired having regular and prolonged high-dose intravenous vitamin C therapy for her condition. Under the aegis of a prescribing physician who had attended one of my presentations of vitamin C, a nurse practitioner was able to give the patient what she wished.

This individual had already been taking liposome-encapsulated vitamin C and glutathione orally without a significant improvement in her condition. On four consecutive days, she received infusions of 25, 50, 75, and then 100 grams of vitamin C. Then, for 19 more days, she received 5 or 6 infusions weekly of 100 grams of vitamin C in each infusion. Until day 23, she felt no improvement. However, she was determined to continue in spite of the lack of improvement and the increasing expense of the whole process. On day 23, the nurse practitioner reported that she looked like a new person, and that it was like a “switch was flipped” and she was well. At her request, the patient received another week of 100 gram daily infusions to be sure her condition was truly resolved, a very good idea on her part. About a month later, her Lyme blood testing was completely negative.

A physician reported to me similar experiences with a series of Lyme patients, who showed no positive clinical response after an extended number of vitamin C infusions, then had a dramatic, abrupt clinical resolution of their condition, very much as described above.

Final Notes

Vitamin C is truly Nature’s gift to health and healing. Virtually all medical conditions are associated with increased oxidative stress, and the relief, or at least partial relief, of this oxidative stress with the vigorous administration of vitamin C and other quality antioxidants, will always help. The oxidative stress caused by disease and environmental toxins can deplete the body’s level of vitamin C and other antioxidants. In serious illness, the body’s reserve of vitamin C goes to zero because the rate at which the body regenerates it is far lower than the rate of depletion. This can require huge doses to bring it back to normal. Even if you are taking antibiotics or other prescription medicines, bringing your levels of vitamin C in your body back to normal, or temporarily supranormal, will virtually always result in profound benefits.

The treatment is effective and, compared to the expense of conventional treatment, it is inexpensive. Few medicines and therapeutic interventions are more affordable than, and as non-toxic as, vitamin C. Even though something as extraordinarily beneficial as vitamin C might seem too good to be true, that’s definitely not the case.

The most eye-opening line in the abstract reveals why our original report on the study, How To Clean Your Arteries With One Simple Fruit, was so well received: “Pomegranate juice consumption resulted in a significant IMT [intima media thickness] reduction, by up to 30%, after 1 year.”

We shouldn’t be that surprised at how great an interest there is among the masses in safe, delicious, and affordable drug alternatives that have the power to unclog arteries? Certainly the drugs aren’t working, with the most popular class — cholesterol-lowering statins — being linked to over 300 adverse health effects. But sometimes the technical language of medicine gets confusing: what does this pomegranate-induced reduction in the intima media thickness (IMT) of the arteries mean?

Reducing The Intima Media Thickness: Reversing Atherosclerosis

The intima media is the middle portion of the arteries that become inflamed and fill up with plaque comprised of oxidized fats, immune cells, and their debris, in the condition known colloquially as “blocked arteries.” As the intima media grows thicker, less space is available for the blood contents to move through the opening (lumen) of the arteries. When the arteries eventually close or are blocked, catastrophic injury or death may follow. Therefore, anything that can safely reduce, or better, reverse intima media thickening is the holy grail as far as obtaining a root cause resolution of atherosclerosis, and by implication would profoundly reduce deaths linked to cardiovascular mortality.

Indeed, in a world where the #1 cause of death is cardiovascular disease, and where we preemptively medicate millions more with drugs that only reduce surrogate markers for cardiovascular disease risk – i.e. lipoproteins carrying cholesterol – without showing any convincing evidence that it is reducing cardiovascular disease or all-cause mortality, how could something as simple and powerful as pomegranate be overlooked? In fact, if a simple daily dietary intervention is capable of regressing and/or reversing the underlying disease process in millions of fatal cardiac cases, it would seem highly unethical not to use it.

Here, we wish to bring some of the finer details of this clinical trial to light, to further substantiate the value of botanical and food-based interventions not only in preventing but treating major chronic disease processes like cardiovascular disease, the developed world’s most deadly disease.

Published in Clinical Nutrition in 2014 and titled, “Pomegranate juice consumption for 3 years by patients with carotid artery stenosis reduces common carotid intima-media thickness, blood pressure and LDL oxidation,” Israeli researchers discovered pomegranate, administered in juice form over the course of a year, reversed plaque accumulation in the carotid arteries of patients with severe, though symptomless, carotid artery stenosis (defined as 70–90% blockage in the internal carotid arteries).

Worried About Clogged Arteries - Drink This - PomegranateThe study consisted of nineteen patients, 5 women and 14 men, aged 65-75, non-smokers. They were randomized to receive either pomegranate juice or placebo. Ten patients were in the pomegranate juice treatment group and 9 patients that did not consume pomegranate juice were in the control group. Both groups were matched with similar blood lipid and glucose concentrations, blood pressure, and with similar medication regimens which consisted of blood-pressure lowering (e.g. ACE inhibitors, β-blockers, or calcium channel blockers) and lipid lowering drugs (e.g. statins).

The ten patients in the treatment group group received 1.69 ounces (50 ml) of pomegranate juice per day (about the volume of a shot glass), which contained .036 milligrams of total polyphenols (primarily tannins and anthocyanins), for a period of 1 year, and five out of them agreed to continue for up to 3 years.

The remarkable results were reported as follows:

“The mean intima media thickness the left and right common carotid arteries in severe carotid artery stenosis patients that consumed pomegranate juice for up to 1 year was reduced after 3, 6, 9 and 12 months of pomegranate juice consumption by 13%, 22%, 26% and 35%, respectively, in comparison to baseline values.”

You can only imagine what would happen if a pharmaceutical drug was shown to reverse plaque build up in the carotid arteries by 13% in just 3 months! This drug would be lauded the life-saving miracle drug, and not only would be promoted and sold successfully as a multi-billion dollar blockbuster, but discussion would inevitably follow as to why it should be mandated.

Worried About Clogged Arteries - Drink This - Pomegranate 2While these results are impressive, if not altogether groundbreaking for the field of cardiology, they may be even better than revealed in the stated therapeutic outcomes above.  When one factors in that the carotid artery stenosis increased 9% within 1 year in the control group, the pomegranate intervention group may have seen even better results than indicated by the measured regression in intima media thickness alone. That is, if we assume that the pomegranate group had received no treatment, the thickening of their carotid arteries would have continued to progress like the control group at a rate of 9% a year, i.e. 18% within 2 years, 27% within 3 years. This could be interpreted to mean that after 3 years of pomegranate treatment, for instance, the thickening of the arteries would have been reduced over 60% beyond what would have occurred had the natural progression of the disease been allowed to continue unabated.

3 Ways Pomegranate Heals The Cardiovascular System

The researchers identified three likely mechanisms of action behind pomegranate’s observed anti-atherosclerotic activity:

Antioxidant properties:

Subjects receiving pomegranate saw significant reductions in oxidative stress, including decreases in autoantibodies formed against ox-LDL, a form of oxidized low density lipoprotein associated with the pathological process of atherosclerosis. Decreases in oxidative stress were measurable by an increase in the blood serum enzyme paraoxonase 1 (PON1) of up to 91% after 3 years; PON1 is an enzyme whose heightened activity is associated with lower oxidative stress.

All of this is highly relevant to the question of pomegranate’s anti-atherosclerotic activity because of something called the lipid peroxidation hypothesis of atherosclerosis, which assumes that it is the quality of the blood lipids (i.e. whether they are oxidized/damaged or not), and not their quantity alone that determine their cardiotoxicity/atherogenicity. Essentially, pomegranate prevents the heart disease promoting effects of oxidative stress.

Blood Pressure Lowering Properties:

The intervention resulted in significant improvement in blood pressure: the patient’s systolic blood pressure was reduced 7%, 11% ,10%, 10% and 12% after 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of pomegranate consumption, respectively, compared to values obtained before treatment. Pomegranate’s ability to reduce systolic blood pressure indicates it has a healing effect on the endothelium, or the inner lining of the artery which fails to relax fully in heart disease; a condition known as endothelial dysfunction.

Plaque Lesion Stabilization:

Because two of the ten patients on PJ (after 3 and 12 months) experienced clinical deterioration, carotid surgery was performed and the lesions were analyzed to determine the difference in their composition to those who did not receive pomegranate.

The researchers noticed four distinct positive differences in the composition of the pomegranate-treated lesions:

  1. Reduced Cholesterol Content: “The cholesterol content in carotid lesions from the two patients that consumed PJ was lower by 58% and 20%, respectively, in comparison to lesions obtained from CAS patients that did not consume PJ (Fig. 3A).”
  2. Reduced Lipid Peroxides: “[T]he lipid peroxides content in lesions obtained from the patients after PJ consumption for 3 or 12 months was significantly reduced by 61% or 44%, respectively, as compared to lesions from patients that did not consume PJ (Fig. 3B).
  3. Increased Reduced Glutathione Content: “A substantial increase in the lesion reduced glutathione (GSH) content, (GSH is a major cellular antioxidant) by 2.5-fold, was observed after PJ consumption for 3 or 12 months, (Fig. 3C).
  4. Reduced LDL Oxidation: “LDL oxidation by lesions derived from the patients after PJ consumption for 3 or 12 months, was significantly (Po0.01) decreased by 43% or 32%, respectively, in comparison to LDL oxidation rates obtained by lesions from CAS patients that did not consume PJ (Fig. 3D).”

Essentially these results reveal that not only does pomegranate reduce the lesion size in the carotid arteries, but “the lesion itself may be considered less atherogenic after PJ consumption, as its cholesterol and oxidized lipid content decreased, and since its ability to oxidize LDL was significantly reduced.”

This finding is quite revolutionary, as presently, the dangers of carotid artery stenosis are understood primarily through the lesion size and not by assessing for the quality of that lesion. This dovetails with the concept that the sheer quantity of lipoproteins (i.e. “cholesterol”) in the blood can not accurately reveal whether those lipoproteins are actually harmful (atherogenic); rather, if lipoproteins are oxidized (e.g. ox-LDL) they can be harmful (or representative of a more systemic bodily imbalance), whereas non-oxidized low density lipoprotein may be considered entirely benign, if not indispensable for cardiovascular and body wide health. Indeed, in this study the researchers found the pomegranate group had increased levels of triglycerides and very low density lipoprotein, again, underscoring that the anti-atherosclerotic properties likely have more to do with the improved quality of the physiological milieu within which all our lipoproteins operate than the number of them, in and of itself.

Finally, it should be pointed out that all the patients in this study were undergoing conventional, drug-based care for cardiovascular disease, e.g. cholesterol- and blood pressure-lowering agents. Not only did the pomegranate treatment not appear to interfere with their drugs, making it a suitable complementary/adjunct therapy for those on pharmaceuticals, but it should be pointed out that the control group’s condition got progressively worse (e.g. the mean IMT increased 9% within 1 year), speaking to just how ineffective drugs are, or how they may even contribute to the acceleration of the disease process itself.

Many call it Japanese Water Therapy. Not only is it insanely simple, but scientific studies have provided information strongly suggesting that it can indeed work.

According to the Japanese Medical Society, this treatment would take 10 days to treat constipation10 days to treat some gastric issues, and 30 days to treat high blood pressure.

The truth is here is water is not a miracle cure. It is however a very vital part to a person’s physical health and wellbeing. Simply put, taking care of your body, keeping it hydrated and active, can work wonders for your health. Dehydration isn’t as uncommon as some people might think and it comes in many forms. Dehydration doesn’t necessarily mean you’re feeling lightheaded and thirsty. Dehydration simply means the body isn’t getting the water it needs to run to its fullest.

What will happen to the healers once everyone is healed?

In a time of great planetary transformation, great upheaval, great healing and ‘up-leveling’ we see more healers rising from their own ancestral memories,

own archaic soul memories as healers. I am seeing more and more healing modalities pouring through humanity all the time. We are being given modalities for healing our DNA for integrating our higher expressions of self into the earth body, for healing past emotional trauma, healing and releasing past life trauma and karma, we are undergoing spiritual surgery, template level re-organization, we are witnessing the up-rising of the feminine, the healing of the collective feminine, and the shifting of culture.If you are alive today, take heart. You are a warrior of the soul. You incarnated into this physical vehicle you call a body because you knew the beautiful thrill of this 4th dimensional existence and your soul knew and wanted a front seat for the amazing healing and transformation we are now beholding.

In the past, the village had one healer, or a few. And they would never call themselves the healer, they would never call themselves the shaman- only would they be called such a name by their community. But the time has call to call yourself. The time has come to claim your true identity, to name yourself. Yes, I am the healer. Yes, I am the shaman of my soul, ushering myself between dimensions, reclaiming the lost fragments of who I really am, altering my own state like a finely crafted dial on a beautiful physical mechanism holding my most precious of spirit. Take heart warrior spirit, you are the healer. You are every bit the healer.

You are now healing with sound, you are healing with food, you are speaking to the water, you are speaking to the earth, you are communicating with the elements, you are recognising your soul family who may not inhabit physical human forms, you are at one with the animals, you peer into your own eyes in the bathroom mirror and see the cosmos within yourself. As we see humanity moving towards a collective population of healers, a culture of healers, a world of healers, the question arises, what is the fate for us? Will we be healers forever? Will our job one day end?

For light-workers and healers of all types, we are the spiritual equivalent of the volunteers who go and rescue the oil laden ducks after a poisonous devastating oil spill. We are on the front lines, we are in the thick of it. We are clearing out the darkest of distortions, the heaviest of self-loathing, the depths of despair and guilt, the greatest extent of having forgotten who we really are. As healers, by identifying ourselves as healers, as light-workers, we therefore tune ourselves into this reality, willingly, intentionally, volunteering to become a master artist, a master practitioner in the very medium itself of light. We chose this task, this creation, this story, this adventure, this remembering. We, through our love, through our hands, through our touch, through our modalities, through our intentions, our art, our life, we are literally conducting light through our own vessels into this plane to illuminate every point on this infinite grid of consciousness.

I have seen that the future of healing is also the past. You see, there was a time far in the past, but if you can allow yourself to understand, this construct of ‘past’ is also the future. Time is not linear, it is cyclical, and we are rounding a new resonance in this spiral. Yes, we are returning to our rightful place in existence- the place of our ancestors and the place of our descendants. One day the tide of pure light will, in a sense, completely tip and when it does, the distortion, the forgetfulness, the shame, the hindrance of the spirit, will be gone; And then what of the healers?

Once we have tuned fully into this, what will the healers then do? We will do what we have always done. We must understand that healing is not the fixing of something broken, it is the

integration of the parts back into the whole. And this is the paradox, stop waiting. There is no waiting. There is no peak. Everything in creation is always expanding, infinitely expanding. There is only ever more healing to be had. And once the light is allowed to pour through un-restricted, we can be freed of our work with the sad energy of distortion.

How do we know this? We need look no further than the myriad of other races and civilizations throughout the universe to catch a glimpse of the imminent reality of more natural, expansive, and higher-vibrational ways of existing. Do you not think that the Sirians, the Arcturians, the Angelic realm, the Pleiadians, and so on, do you not think they themselves are also healers? Of course they are.

In the constant unfoldment and expansion of the universe, there is ALWAYS more. I repeat: there is ALWAYS MORE. There is always more expansion; there is always more healing in the sense that there is always more to discover and to integrate with the understanding that all the exotic far reaches of existence are still always parts of the self. “Healing does not happen by the denial of things but with the integration of things.”

The future of healing is pure creativity. The future of healing is play. The future of healing is exploration. The future of healing is the natural state of being in control of one’s reality and putting things out of balance just to put them back, just because you can. This is what humanity has long identified as ‘God’ or ‘Gods’, but it is your true nature as a facet of God.

Rest assured, in the future, which is the past, we as past Venusians, past Atlantians, past Mayans, past this that or whatever, we as HUMANS as spirits in whatever form will only ever find our role as healers ever more exciting, ever more artistic, ever more expansive and creative and necessary.

Rest assured warrior spirits, rest assured heart warriors, your time is never ‘coming’ your time is always now. You may give yourself permission to choose yourself. Every part of your being is necessary and profoundly perfect and we thank you for your light.

I can eat all the food and I feel awesome!


In the States I was always told that if I travel to another country the food and water will make me sick.  We have always heard that developing countries are so dirty and the water is so bad that people from the States cannot handle it at all.  So, the week before our trip to Bolivia, I started preparing our bodies.  Hubby and I took probiotics and all 6 of us put Diatomaceous Earth in our smoothies every day.  Since 3 of us cannot have gluten or dairy, I loaded our backpacks full of granola bars, fruit snacks, and a few other things to survive on until we figured out the food situation.  I assumed that I would not be able to speak the language well enough to tell people “no flour or milk” so I wanted to be prepared.  On the plus side, I joked that the last few pounds I wanted to lose would quickly come off when I got to Bolivia. :)

When we arrived in LaPaz, I did not eat unless I could be positive there was no milk or flour in the food.  It is amazing how frozen in fear I get about ordering food because of the nonstop worry of getting sick.  A mom of 4 just has no time for constant health problems.  When we arrived in Ixiamas, I discovered that bread is a cheap staple (1 Boliviano for 2 pieces of bread the size of large dinner rolls).  Also, since the bread was made with only butter, lard, and flour -no milk! – I decided to try it.   It tasted good and I felt fine.  After this surprising success, I tried the milk from a friend’s cow.  No symptoms!  I could not believe it!  It seemed I was able to eat everything here!  The only time I have gotten sick is when I ate at a burger chain restaurant and a store that served previously-frozen empanadas.  Later a friend told us those places served “fast food”.  I do notice that if I consume too much milk I will get a little congested.  I try to space the dairy consumption out so that I only have dairy every other day.

I have not had one headache while in Ixiamas, while in the States I usually had one every two weeks.    I have not gone to bed all stopped up or woken up by a sneezing attack.  When I eat flour, my tummy does not feel horrible and bloated.  In the States, I typically got sick after eating out.  No matter how fervently the restaurants promised they did not have milk or flour in their foods, I always seemed to spend the next day sitting on the couch feeling horrible and trying to get well.

Let me be clear.  In the States, I could not have any gluten or dairy.  Even when I was extremely strict with the foods that I ate, I still became sick.  I could not eat trace amounts of dairy without experiencing flu-like symptoms for 3 days.  And if I had flour, I would have intense stomach cramps for at least a day.

So how is this possible?  Why did I spend so much of my life sick in the States since my childhood?  How is it that I am well in Bolivia?

This is the way butter is sold.

I think I know the answer.  There are little to no chemicals used in food production here.  Vegetables and fruits are picked from the garden and go straight to the market.  After the cow is milked, the milk is poured into a rinse- out soda bottle and sold.  We buy the food and then we eat it – that’s all.  There are no planes spraying chemicals and no huge factories manipulating food with additives.  There are no FDA regulations, no Monsanto, and no companies enforcing rules for how things must be prepared, processed and packaged.  And the water is clean; it comes straight from a spring in the mountain.  It is not treated with added fluoride or any other chemicals “to make sure we are healthy.”

And Ixiamas is FAR from sanitary.  Nobody boils water before using it.  No one runs around washing their hands or using hand sanitizer before serving each meal.  The bathrooms that most people use are nothing more than a hole in the ground.  Everyone deals with free-roaming farm animals wandering through their homes, stores and restaurants. The roads are covered in dirt and when a motorcycle drives by, dirt flies everywhere.

I believe all the rules and regulations in the States surrounding food production were destroying my body.  Almost everything made me sick.  The chemicals were affecting my brain as well as my organs.  Two of our children had almost as many problems as I did and I felt hopelessly sure that their issues would only continue to worsen as mine did.  In the States, I felt like I could never trust restaurants or packaged foods.  When I couldn’t pronounce the ingredients on the side of the box, I knew I was in trouble.

I have believed for a long time that the chemicals were destroying me.  I felt helpless to find an answer.  Affording the good stuff was killing our budget (and I wasn’t sure I could trust the health food stores anyway).  The only solution I could think of was to grow my own food.  But then I even wondered if the air, soil, and water would be free enough from chemicals for me to ever be well.

I realize that some people eat whatever they want in the States and do not get sick.  But I know so many people that feel awful like I did.  And then there are the many illnesses that people have that can be treated with healthy food: the U.S. is rampant with cancer, diabetes, acne, ADD, ADHD, arthritis, autism, and asthma (wow that’s a lot of ‘A’ words).

For our family, being able to eat without throwing up, not spending hours in the bathroom, not needing medicine, rarely getting sick, and not feeling crazy and out of control are worth everything to us!  We are more than aware that we are not prolonging our life by eating this way and we are not health food nuts.  We just want to feel well!

With excitement I will say it again……when I eat in the States, I get extremely sick.  When I eat those same foods in Bolivia, I feel great.  My family feels awesome too.  I don’t know what else to think other than unlike the U.S., there are no chemicals, additives, or genetically modified foods here.  You may think the labels “organic” and “all natural” in the fancy stores means the food is healthy and chemical-free, but I do not believe it.   I do not believe our family can escape sickness when we eat in America.

I am eating a donut with chocolate icing!  DELICIOSO!

Now when I travel back to America that will be the place that I lose weight because I won’t be able to eat anything, while Bolivia will be the place I feel well!

This Plant Gets You High and Reduces Opiate Addiction. It’s Taking Off in the US and It’s Legal.


Have you heard of Kratom?

Why are people across the U.S. chewing on the small, glossy leaves of the Southeast Asian Kratom tree? It’s an ancient plant medicine related to coffee, and it produces a high that’s both euphoric and legal. Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) has long been used in Thailand and Malaysia to relieve pain, settle the stomach and reduce opiate dependence. Now it’s taking off in the West.

According to SageWisdom.org, Kratom leaves can be chewed fresh or dry, powdered, or brewed into a tea. It is not usually smoked, because the “amount of leaf that constitutes a typical dose is too much to be smoked easily.” It’s most commonly sold in powder form in packets, both online and in kava bars—alcohol-free bars where people can consume tea made from the legal, Polynesian kava root— and head shops. An ounce costs between $20 and $30, which is enough Kratom for one very strong dose, or several more mild doses.

The fact that Kratom can mitigate the painful effects of opiate withdrawl is significant, given that heroin use has reached staggering  rates in the U.S. A report by the U.S.  Office of National Drug Control Policy estimated a1.5 million chronic heroin users in the US, which doesn’t account for users that use heroin less than 4 days per month.

While it is regularly used to curb opiate addiction by reducing the withdrawal symptoms, Kratom itself can be addictive. One mother in South Florida told the local CBS news the story of her 17-year-old son’s spiral into Kratom addiction after he tried plant at a kava bar with friends. She blames the addiction for her son’s eventual suicide, saying that he was “not the same person,” after trying Kratom.

While it remains popular in underground circles, Kratom has been illegal in Thailand since 1943 (it’s also banned in Malaysia, Burma and Australia). However, as Fox News reported, “Thai officials are considering reversing the 70 year old ban on kratom, due to the plant’s value in weaning addicts off of opiates.”

Despite the potential for addiction, humans have used Kratom as a stimulant and medicine for thousands of years. As Fox News reported, “The plant also enjoys a legendary use for extending the duration of sexual intercourse,” and “it mostly enjoys a long history of safe use.”

One Erowid.com user described their experience with “Premium Thai Kratom” as powerfully relaxing and pleasant:

“I start to feel a very warm sensation in my ankles and calves that is very similar to what I felt when I took hydrocodone after getting my appendix removed. My legs feel tingly and altogether it is a very pleasurable sensation. Walking around or excessive movement seems to reduce these effects substantially, however. Mentally, I am clear headed, and able to concentrate perfectly on the television. Waves of slight euphoria come occasionally, and my mood is elevated. I feel content, and happy to be alive on this planet.”

Try to remember grade school. (This may take either a few seconds or hours, depending on how far into the vault those memories are located.) Remember when it came time for lunch. Now, try to remember how many times you heard the phrase “food allergy.”

If you’re in your mid-20s or older, odds are the answer is “rarely, if ever.” But, man, times have changed.

If you have children of your own, or have walked within 100 feet of a school recently, you know that’s not the case anymore. We’re bombarded with warnings about food allergies almost on a daily basis, and that’s because they’re a big problem. They’ve risen a whopping 50% between 1997 and 2007, and no one’s quite sure why. But a new study from the University of Chicago not only offers a possible cure, but a possible cause.

A very quick summary of the study: Scientists took a group of mice with peanut allergies and gave them the gut bacteria Clostridia, a bacteria found commonly in humans. After administering it, they found that the mice no longer had food allergies. Hooray!

To understand more about this study, I called up the lead researcher, immunologist Dr. Cathryn Nagler. She’s spent the past decade studying how our bodies develop food allergies, including trying to analyze why we’re able to eat anything at all.

“All the food that comes into your body is a potentially foreign material,” says Nagler. “I’ve been looking at why we’re not allergic to all of the foods we eat.”

In an attempt to further probe that question, Nagler and her colleagues authored a 2004 study that concluded the removal of gut bacteria in mice led to the development of food allergies. (They removed the bacteria by administering antibiotics, something to keep in mind for later.) With that conclusion out of the way, they began working on reversing the process by re-introducing bacteria. After a few tries, they found one that worked: Clostridia.

“When I say Clostridia, I’m talking about a big class of bacteria,” says Nadler. “It may include hundreds, maybe thousands of members. There’s so much we don’t know about the gut. It’s not like I can say I’d like to test X-Y-Z. You only test what you can isolate. We were lucky because we were able to isolate the Clostridia’s unique property of forming spores.”

Once introduced to the mice, the Clostridia acts as a barrier to keep the allergens in peanut proteins from entering their bloodstream. The allergens are still there, but they’re not able to produce the allergic reaction. Hence: No more food allergies. So, how long until this result provides benefits for humans?

“There’s much, much, much more work to be done,” says Nagler. “Next, we want to look at children with food allergies. And then it has to be developed in a safe drug format, and that’s going to take some time.”

But one thing we don’t have to wait for is what this study suggests about the possible culprit behind food allergies: Our antibiotics-happy culture.

“We don’t want to say this is a cause and effect relationship, but we do want to raise the concern,” says Nagler. “An infectious disease specialist made the point that most kids in the U.S. receive two or three courses of antibiotics in infancy. Most of the treatments they receive are for viral infections, meaning, they’re getting a treatment that serves no purpose.”

What they’re getting instead is the alteration and elimination of the bacteria that may keep allergens at bay. And that’s just one of the problems that are associated with the overuse of antibiotics.

“There’s a lot of reasons to cut back,” says Nagler. “Not only food allergies, but so-called Diseases of Western Lifestyle seem to be increasing with the increasing use of antibiotics. There’s also antibiotic resistance. It’s not controversial to say that we need to be more judicious in our use of antibiotics.”

States with Legal Marijuana See 25 Percent Fewer Prescription Painkiller Deaths

It’s funny, there are still many people in this country who are concerned with medical marijuana.That making pot available to patients will unleash some horrible drug genie. And yet one never hears these people complaining about medical heroin, and we have widespread legalized medical heroin, aka oxycodone and oxycontin in this country.

These drugs are far more dangerous than cannabis. One can’t overdose on pot. With the widely available legal opioid drugs however overdose is tragically common. Even still the risks associated with the highly addictive opioid drugs are considered manageable by the medical establishment officially. Pot however, non-opioid, non-physically addictive pot, remains on the margins and in most places still can’t be prescribed.

I get that medical marijuana is a ruse to a large degree. It is a halfway step toward legalization, which for the record I have no problem with. But for some people who must deal with chronic pain medical marijuana is a Godsend and it should be readily available.

Unlike medical heroin (oxycontin) which is often prescribed for pain, pot is not physically addictive. (It certainly can be psychologically addictive.) It also isn’t as heavy and all encompassing a drug as opioids. Many people remain human beings while under the influence of cannabis, whereas on opioids they simply are not themselves.

And there’s one other very important factor in the cannabis/opioid debate. Pot is cheap. One can grow it in one’s back yard if one needed to. And it’s not like marijuana is like growing an orchid or something. Just stick it in the ground and it grows.

That pot is effective for pain for many and also effectively free, in conjunction with the deep puritanical streak which runs through America, is the reason why the plant remains illegal even today for many people who suffer but who would benefit greatly from using it.

Legal heroin you see is just more profitable. And if the drug companies can keep the anti-competitive legalization barrier up around the cannabis plant they sell more pills. Pills which often enslave people with physical addiction and on occasion kill them.

It’s not surprising to me that researchers have found that overdose deaths are sharply lower in states with medical marijuana. More research should be done.

According to the American Academy of Pain Medicine, 1.5 billion people worldwide suffer from chronic pain. Opioid painkillers have long been an option for treating that pain, but their use comes with an inherent risk of addiction and death from an overdose. Chronic pain is also a major driver of medical cannabis use, which is why the researchers wanted to see whether medical marijuana laws and deaths from opioid overdoses were linked at the state level.

Bachhuber and his colleagues wondered how having access to alternative options for pain relief would impact painkiller use.

“We thought maybe, if people chose marijuana over prescription painkillers on a large scale, medical marijuana states might see relatively lower rates of painkiller overdoses — and even overdose deaths,” Bachhuber says. It turned out that his hunch was correct.

Cancer Cures: Graviola & Guava

It is a plant that grows in tropical areas in Central America and South America, especially in the Amazon. It is also known as soursop, Guanábano, Catuche, Catoche, Anona Mexico, Graviola, Anona India, Mole. The fruit is very delicate dark green covered with soft spines. Is relatively large and very thin shell. Should be harvested before they mature. The flesh is white, creamy, meaty, juicy and slightly acidic, measuring 2-3 cm long, can weigh 2.5 kg.All plant parts are used in natural medicine, including bark, leaves, roots and fruits, but the part that contains the greatest concentration of active ingredient is the leaf, where the Annonaceae acetogenins, which have been widely studied from the 1940 that came into use as an insecticide, leading to surprise scientists for its broad power, without causing any harmful effects in animals and man, so they agreed to fund research where, each day discovering new properties, which, as a result of scientific zeal and vested interests, remained in custody for over 20 years. The acetogenins derived from long chain fatty acids have direct action on mitochondria, ATP, Reticular Apparatus of Goldi and plasma membranes and cell selectively destroying cancer cells without harming healthy cells and tissues also contain Bullatacin, Beta-sitosterol , sitosterol, campesterol, myristic acid, stearic acid, stigmasterol, Amino Acids, Vitamins and Minerals that act on Enzymatic and Molecular.

It is the best alternative when you can not resort to surgery or therapy or Radium Cobalt therapy or when you have to stop chemotherapy for their action and atrogenica (side effects) on the liver and kidneys. There is no conflict and contrary complements very well with any treatment that this subject the patient to improve the quality. They have absolutely no side effects or intolerance or allergic reactions.

ANTI CANCER RESEARCH
In 1976, Dr. Jerry McLaughlin at Purdue University discovered the ANONACEA GRAVIOLA acetogenins, powerful Anti-Cancer. Continued this research at the National Institute of Cancer proving its effectiveness in cancer colon and prostate. The National Health Center use to other cancers (gastric, kidney and breast). The Faculty of Medicine, Catholic University of Korea conducted comparative studies with adriamycin (chemotherapy) in the treatment of lung cancer.

Studies from 1998 to 2000 by McLaughlin and Chih HW, Chui HF have shown that acetogenins are inhibores of complex I of oxidative phosphorylation chain thereby block the formation of ATP energy needed by the cancer cell to operate your pump P-glycoprotein mediated, allowing you to stay active. The acetogenins also inhibit the ubiquinone-ubiquinone oxidase, NADH-dependent enzyme that is peculiar to the plasma membrane of the cancer cell. McLaughlin did his research and Bullatacinone Bullatacin acetogenins.

A study from Purdue University in California, showed that acetogenins can selectively inhibit the growth of cancer cells and also inhibit the growth of tumor cells resistant to adriamycin (chemotherapeutic drug). In another study conducted by scientists at the University, it was shown that acetogenins soursop (graviola) are extremely powerful having an ED 50 (lethal dose 50) of up to 10 to 9 micrograms per milliliter, resulting have 10,000 times the potency of adriamycin .

There are several studies on anonacina, the compound of the soursop that have anticancer effects. However, those studies were only performed in vitro or in vivo in animals, there being still no clinical studies in humans. One reason cited for the lack of human clinical studies is the fact that you can not patent a plant, leading to the laboratories that sponsor research studies to focus on active ingredients, Annonaceae acetogenins, instead of the plant .

Studies were made of soursop compared to the effect with adriamycin (known chemoteherapeutic). It was found that is 10000 times more potent, and kills cancer cells without harming healthy cells as occurs with chemotherapy, which also causes nausea, weight loss and hair, protects and elevates the immune system.

Perhaps one of the most important discoveries related to cancer is that of the parasites. All cancer patients are infected with parasites. Parasites (the same that give our dogs and cats) create both toxic inside the body, with their droppings and urine, the body simply does not fit any defense against cancer and succumbed to the attack of proteases making cancer cells.

Scientific studies have shown that guava contains a class of compounds known as bioactive acetogenins of Annonaceae, which have only been found in this plant and some other of that family, being its main source leaf. Research shows that the main effects are those mentioned above and also have properties, anticonvulsant, antimicrobial and anticancer.

If you want to eat the leaves of soursop, try to get the leaves in their natural state, avoid buying products such as tea’s filter, etc.. And we repeat … not acquire “natural products” in the commercial food stores, but not have noticed before, natural products are actually in the markets, there if you can find the elements that nature offers us in its natural state. But in health food stores often these products are altered, and the worst decline in its healing purpose to act in the patient slowly creating a cycle of consumerism and buying the product again, if you want to apply the true look natural medicine health food stores, rather look at the same result, then it is worth complaining about natural medicine when they fail their tasks. MSM / Chlorine Dioxide

This treatment is somewhat similar to the DMSO – Chlorine Dioxide protocol but this protocol uses MSM instead of DMSO. At the molecular level, the main difference between DMSO and MSM is that MSM has an extra oxygen atom.
MSM does not create as much sulphur body odor as DMSO thus it can be taken in higher doses than the DMSO protocol.

DMSO – Chlorine Dioxide

This is part of the Overnight Cure For Cancer, just mentioned. It was proven to be effecive by the ICRF in 2005. That protocol used a TABLEspoon of DMSO, mixed with chlorine dioxide (5 or 6 drops of MMS, then activated, then mixed with DMSO), once every half-hour for 12 hours. That is 25 TABLEspoons of DMSO, which is well within a safe dose.In its basic form, this treatment is as potent as the Bob Beck Protocol mentioned above, in that it cleans all microbes out of the bloodstream and thus helps build the immune system!!

However, this treatment tries to go one step further by adding DMSO in order to revert cancer cells into normal cells. It is actually safer to revert cancer cells into normal cells than to kill them.

While there is no doubt this protocol will build the immune system, one key question is how effective the chlorine dioxide and DMSO are at reverting cancer cells into normal cells. This question is critical for cancer because the microbes which cause cancer are inside the cancer cells!! This protocol has been very effective at treating cancer!!

For external tumors, this mixture should be put directly on the tumor. For tumors just below the skin, it should be put on the skin directly above the tumor.

Scientists Find Sniffing Rosemary Can Increase Memory By 75 Percent

Rosemary is a wonderful herb with a tradition of use spanning millennia. It has innumerable uses in both the kitchen and in herbal medicine.

Did you know that rosemary has been associated with memory enhancement since ancient times? It is true – and it has even been referred to from the latter part of the Elizabethan Era to the Early Romantic period as the herb of remembrance. In Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Ophelia says, “There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance.” (Hamlet, iv. 5.) It has also long been used as a symbol for remembrance during weddings, war commemorations and funerals in Europe and Australia. [1] Mourners in old times would wear it as a buttonhole, burn it as incense or throw it into graves as a symbol of remembrance for the dead.

It seems that this tradition of Rosemary may actually far more ancient and have its origins in the Arabic world of medieval times, which was greatly advanced in science: In Henry Lyte’s 1578 “Niewe Herball“, an English version of Rembert Dodoens’ French treatise, it is written “The Arrabians and their successors Physitions, do say that Rosemarie comforteth the brayne, the memory and the inward senses, and that it restoreth speech, especially the conserve made of the flowers, thereof with Sugar, to be received daily.” [2]

Because of this seemingly esoteric association, rosemary has at times been made into a sort of herbal-amulet, where it was placed beneath pillowcases, or simply smelt as a bouquet, and it was believed that using rosemary in these ways could protect the sleeper from nightmares, as well as increase their memory.

What’s fascinating is that several scientific studies have now found remarkable results for rosemary’s effects on memory:

Rosemary essential oil’s role in aromatherapy as an agent that promotes mental clarity was validated by the study of Moss, Cook, Wesnes, and Duckett (2003) in which the inhalation of rosemary essential oil significantly enhanced the performance for overall quality of memory and secondary memory factors of study participants. [3]

More recently, in 2012 a study on 28 older people (average 75 years old) found statistically significant dose-dependent improvements in cognitive performance with doses of dried rosemary leaf powder. [4]

Another study by Mark Moss and Lorraine Oliver at Northumbria University, Newcastle has identified 1,8-cineole (a compound in rosemary) as an agent potentially responsible for cognitive and mood performance. [5]

Further studies by Mark Moss and team have found memory enhancements of up to an amazing 75% from diffusion of rosemary essential oil. [6]

Now if you are asking “How is it even possible that an aroma can enhance memory?” – well, that’s a great question. Here’s a fascinating quote from one of the scientific papers referenced: “Volatile compounds (e.g. terpenes) may enter the blood stream by way of the nasal or lung mucosa. Terpenes are small organic molecules which can easily cross the blood-brain barrier and therefore may have direct effects in the brain by acting on receptor sites or enzyme systems.” [5]

Terpenes are primary components of essential oils and are often strong smelling, responsible for a diverse array of natural aromas. It’s also been found that 1,8-cineole enters the bloodstream of mammals after inhalation or ingestion. [7]

I’m interested to know if anyone uses rosemary as a memory enhancer. Maybe you could take some with you next time you have an examination and see if it helps with recall? One last tidbit to inspire you further: Lavender. In a 1998 study published in the International Journal of Neuroscience, rosemary was found to increase alertness but lavender was found not only to increase alertness but also to increase accuracy in math tests! [8] The way this is going, I can sense the possibility of a magical custom oil blend for total recall! ;)

Rosemary is very easy to grow in many gardens and will provide an abundant supply – almost too abundant! Just the other day when paying a Christmas visit to my family, I cut a few sprigs from my Dad’s organic rosemary bush (rosemary is an evergreen!), left them on a radiator to dry for a few days and then put the needle-like leaves in a jar, ready for use in the kitchen whenever required. So aromatic… and much better than the store-bought stuff I had before!

Another thought that springs to mind from this – here we have yet another example of an ancient herbal lore that has been validated by modern experiments. This happens again and again – and yet still the remarkable herbals, lost treasures of the ancient world are considered spurious by modern medicine. If an herb has been in use for a thousand years for a condition, it should be considered probable that there is something to it. When are we going to catch up with ancient knowledge? Let’s hope soon – while there is still some untarnished, un-GMO-ed nature left…
