The Beginning is Near: The Deep North, Evictions and Pipeline Deadlines by Winona LaDuke

By Winona LaDuke
Special to News From Indian Country and Everybody Else

Standing Rock is an unpredicted history lesson for all of us. More than any moment I recall since Wounded Knee, the Vietnam War, or the time of Martin Luther King, this moment stands as a crossroads in the battle for social justice. It is also an economic issue, in a time of economic system transformation, and profoundly a question of the future of this land. The world is watching.

As the US Army Corps of Engineers issues a December 5 eviction notice for thousands of people gathered on the banks of the Missouri River, we face our truth. Those people at the Oceti Sakowin and Red Warrior Camps, along with the 550 people who have been arrested so far, are really the only thing standing between a river and a corporation that wants to pollute it.   That we know, because absent any legal protections, and with a regulatory system hijacked by oil interests and a federal government in crisis, the people and the river remain the only clear and sentient beings.

In short, this is a moment of extreme corporate rights and extreme racism confronted by courage, prayers, and resolve. This moment has been coming. The violence and the economics of a failing industry will indeed unravel, and this is the beginning.

The Deep North

North Dakota did not become Alabama – or the Deep North, as it is now called – overnight.   Native people in North Dakota have been treated poorly for more than a hundred years, whether by the damming of the Missouri and the flooding of millions of acres of tribal land, or by poverty and incarceration, North Dakota is a place of systemic and entrenched racism. Two of the poorest counties in the country are on Standing Rock, Native people comprise almost a fourth of the people in prison, Native suicide rates are ten times that of North Dakotans, infrastructure (like the fifty year old hospital with four doctors for 8000 people, and a now blocked Highway l806, without a shoulder) is at an all time low, and people freeze to death and overdose in the shadow of the Bakken Oil fields. That’s the first layer of abuse, aside from the day to day racism, emboldened by Morton County and the incoming Trump government. It is visible for the world to see now.

For many who come, North Dakota is something unknown. Americans fly over the state, talk about how the movie Fargo was funny, and wonder sheepishly about how it’s working out in the Bakken. Very few visit, and there is almost no civil society to advocate for the environment or the people. Let me put it this way, until this year, the Sierra Club had one staff person in North Dakota, and the American Civil Liberties Union had one staff member covering both North and South Dakota. It is as if North Dakota is just too uncomfortable for a progressive movement to visit or work in. Instead, we have watched.

After all, the sex trafficking, violence, and corruption has overwhelmed most of the state’s capacity to address it, and a recent study by the National Academy of Sciences found widespread groundwater contamination in the fracking fields.   For North Dakotans it has become just how it isThat is to say: accommodating corporations is the North Dakota way. This last year, North Dakota health officials excused more oil spills without penalty, and increased the allowable levels of radiation in municipal and county dumps to accommodate the fracking industry. The corporations direct state policy.

It’s been easy to put it out of mind because after all, it seems so far away when we view the world from our television or smartphone. In the midst of this, we find ourselves facing a larger set of forces. As of November 18, the Morton County Sheriff’s Department inventoried their troops at 1,287 deputies, including police from 25 North Dakota counties, 20 North Dakota cities, and 9 states (Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming). Over 550 people have been arrested, many of them strip searched and cavity searched for misdemeanor charges, and a number of them held overnight in dog kennels. Now the state has fired on unarmed people who want to protect the water from contamination. After all, that’s what this is about.

To serve the convenience of a deadline for Energy Transfer Partners’s corporate profits, the police have fired teargas canisters, water hoses, concussion grenades, rubber bullets, tasers, and bean bag rounds at unarmed people trying to protect their water supply. Most of them are Native, and the North Dakota media has continued to portray the water protectors as outlaws.

When 21 year old New York resident Sophia Wilansky’s arm was blown off by a concussion grenade, Morton County Sheriff Kirchenmeir suggested that the water protectors caused it. A statement of her father, attorney Wayne Wilansky, differs: “At around 4:30am after the police hit the bridge with water cannons and rubber bullets and pepper spray, they lobbed a number of concussion grenades which are not supposed to be thrown at people directly, at protesters or protectors as they want to be called. A grenade exploded right as it hit Sophia in the left forearm taking most of the undersurface of her left arm with it. Both her radial and ulnar artery were completely destroyed. Her radius was shattered and a large piece of it is missing. Her medial nerve is missing a large section as well. All of the muscle and soft tissue between her elbow and wrist were blown away. The police did not do this by accident – it was an intentional act of throwing it directly at her. Additionally police were shooting people in the face and groin, intending to do the most possible damage…”

January 1 Energy Transfer Deadline

On January 1, the Dakota Access Pipeline may turn into a pumpkin. This is to say, that the Dakota Access Pipeline was proposed in 2014, when the Bakken was at a peak. The Bakken is presently producing 900,000 barrels a day of oil, and steadily declining. All of that oil is already being refined locally, or shipped out by train or pipeline. The state of North Dakota has announced that they project to have the same 900,000 barrels of oil a day coming out of the Bakken in 2019, two years from now, and even that may be optimistic. In other words, there’s already plenty of infrastructure to move all the oil from North Dakota; this pipeline is not needed. We call it the Dakota Excess Pipeline.

The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis with Sightline Institute just released a new report on the shaky finances of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The report, “The High-Risk Financing Behind the Dakota Access Pipeline: A Stranded Asset in the Making in the Bakken Region of North Dakota,” delves into “the project’s financial weaknesses, and the fact the pipeline may represent a substantial overbuilding of the Bakken’s oil-transport infrastructure.” The report notes that the pipeline’s principal backer, Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), has conceded in court proceedings that it is contractually obligated to complete the project by January 1. ETP will most likely miss this deadline, if for no other reason than lack of clearance. The company recently informed investors that it would take from 90 to 120 days to complete the pipeline after it receives an easement from the Army Corps of Engineers to cross the Missouri River. The Corps has yet to give that permission and last week recommended further study on the question.

If the deadline is missed, companies that have committed long-term to ship oil through the pipeline at 2014 prices will have the right to rescind those commitments. “In the interest of protecting their investors and shareholders, these companies may well renegotiate terms, seeking concessions on contracted volumes, prices, or contract duration.

The impetus for striking new deals on Dakota Access Pipeline contracts is rooted in radical changes in the broader economic context in which the project was proposed in 2014 and in which the majority of the contracts were signed. Global oil prices began to collapse just a few months after shippers committed to using DAPL, and consensus market forecasts see no recovery for at least a decade….”

In short, greed is expensive, and if Energy Transfer Partners does not meet that deadline, many prudent shippers may want to renegotiate or withdraw their contracts. In other words, the pipeline could become a pumpkin, in the terms of Cinderella, and there are a lot of people who would not be sorry about that.

So, let’s be honest, all of the aggression is to see if North Dakota can make sure that Energy Transfer Partners can make a deadline and not lose money and continue to bilk potential shippers.

Evicting Native People

On the day after Thanksgiving, the Army Corps of Engineers issued an eviction notice to the thousands of people camped on the banks of the river. Creating the legal fiction of a “free speech zone”, in no relationship to anything significant. District Commander John W. Henderson sent an email to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe stating that on December 5, the Oceti Sakowin camp would need to evacuate Army Corps land. The letter claims that evacuation “is necessary to protect the general public from the violent confrontations between protestors and law enforcement officials that have occurred in this area, and to prevent death, illness, or serious injury to inhabitants of encampments due to the harsh North Dakota winter conditions. The necessary emergency, medical, and fire response services, law enforcement, or sustainable facilities to protect people from these conditions on this property cannot be provided.” At no point did the Army Corps point out that Highway 1806 was closed by Morton County and that all the sustained injuries were from Morton County.

Standing Rock Tribal Chairman Dave Archambault responded to the Army Corps: “Our Tribe is deeply disappointed in this decision by the United States, but our resolve to protect our water is stronger than ever. The best way to protect people during the winter, and reduce the risk of conflict between water protectors and militarized police, is to deny the easement for the Oahe crossing, and deny it now. We ask that everyone who can appeal to President Obama and the Army Corps of Engineers to consider the future of our people and rescind all permits, and deny the easement to cross the Missouri River just north of our Reservation and straight through our treaty lands. When the Dakota Access Pipeline chose this route, they did not consider our strong opposition. Our concerns were clearly articulated directly to them in a tribal council meeting held on Sept. 30, 2014, where DAPL and the ND Public Service Commission came to us with this route. We have released the audio recording from that meeting.”

The fact is that the Dakota Access Pipeline is not complete because of the people camped on that land- whether in the Oceti Sakowin, Sacred Stone, or Red Warrior Camps. The arrests of 550 people have been at a high cost to people, but also at a high cost to Energy Transfer Partners, because they are unlikely to meet their deadline.

None of us know how this moment in history is going to work out. On December 4, thousands of military veterans are coming to support the people and the river – veterans of Iraq, Vietnam, and every war in between. I am interested how the Army Corps will speak with the veterans. The veterans join the thousands of elected officials, religious and cultural leaders who have come to stand with the river and the people. In the end, that’s what will remain, long after Energy Transfer is bankrupt and the state of North Dakota has come to reckoning. The river will remain.

I am reminded of a quote originating from Thunder Valley. “ How long are you going to let others determine the future for your children? Are we not warriors? When our ancestors went to battle they did not know what the consequences would be, all they knew is that, without action, things would not go well for their children . Don’t operate out of a place of fear, operate from hope. With hope everything is possible. The time is now. “

That is this time.

UBUNTU Update 16 Oct 2016 by Michael Tellinger

“ONE SMALL TOWN” Can change the world!
The new global UBUNTU plan of action for 2017
“ONE SMALL TOWN” Can change the world! – is about to be released any day. While in the USA, during Sept 2016 we had a powerful strategic meeting with several of the UBUNTU USA team core members and agreed on our new strategy and plan of action that we all believe will be unstoppable.

The ONE SMALL TOWN plan is a solid model which will unite people and their political leaders while providing unimaginable opportunities for conscious millionaires to come to the rescue of the many stagnant or failing small towns in the USA and all over the world.

We are creating communities of abundance, where people live united in support of each other – instead of living divided in fear of each other – and where everything and anything is possible, because there are no hurdles or restrictions to progress. This plan will be implemented in all countries with minor modifications, through the core management teams in each country.

We are now truly starting to pave the highway of unity across all borders and cultural divides, out of the matrix of economic enslavement, and manifesting our own UTOPIAN reality that so many of us have wished for all our lives. A new society where the need for “money” is no longer relevant.

There are many movements that share great knowledge and information with people of the world, but at this stage it seems that the UBUNTU Movement is the only movement with a plan for the future, and a NEW SYSTEM. The plan is simple and easily achievable. All we have to do is unite and work in cooperation and collaboration. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are trying to mislead you or keep you trapped in the matrix.

Anonymous, is planing large gatherings to voice the people’s unhappiness with global affairs and stating that we urgently need a new PLAN. I urge everyone to notify the Anonymous Group that UBUNTU has a plan – and to help spread the awareness of our plan to the world.

We are creating a new alternative and a new way ahead for all of humanity – without any violence, resistance, or opposition to anyone. As we create this new reality and a new system for ourselves in our united communities, the old system will simply wither and fade away.

In the days to come, I will be reaching out to all countries to establish the core UBUNTU management teams that will receive detailed training regarding the Plan of Action so that they can present it to their own towns accurately.
Join the UBUNTU Movement and spread the message – become a seed of consciousness in your area. http://www.ubuntuparty.org.za

First Nations across North America sign treaty alliance against the oilsands

The thunderous pounding of Indigenous drums echoed in the air on Thursday as more than 50 Indigenous nations across North America rallied together to sign a historic, pan-continental treaty alliance against oilsands expansion in their traditional territory.

The collaboration, formalized at simultaneous ceremonies in Quebec and B.C., aims to block all proposed pipeline, tanker, and rail projects affecting First Nations land and water, including TransCanada’s Energy East pipeline, Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain expansion, Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline, and Enbridge Northern Gateway.

At the signing on Musqueam land in Vancouver, the lineup of chiefs waiting to put their names down filled up an entire room. It was a powerful ceremony, and participants clad in the regalia of their nations travelled from across B.C. and northern Washington to be part of the growing movement.

Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, who also signed the document, said Indigenous people will no longer stand for dangerous projects on their territory that advance the threat of climate change.

“In this time of great challenge we know that other First Nations will sign on,” he said, extending the invitation to Indigenous communities far and wide.

“Based on our sovereign, inherent right to self-determination, we have collectively decided that we will pick up our sacred responsibilities to the land, waters, and people. We will come together in unity and solidarity to protect our territory from the predations of big oil interests, industry, and everything that represents.”

It’s a movement that’s already happening, he added, with no better example than in North Dakota, where the Standing Rock Sioux have forced the federal government to pause Dakota Access pipeline construction.

Meeting the call to climate change duty

The document, called the Treaty Alliance Against Tar Sands Expansion, commits its signatories to assist one another when called upon in the battle against oilsands expansion, and to work in partnership to move society towards more sustainable lifestyles. By aligning themselves with other Indigenous nations across Canada and the northern U.S., participants hope to ensure that dangerous projects are not able to “escape” by using alternative routes.

“We have the right and the responsibility to stop these major threats to our lands, our waters and our peoples,” said Kanesatake Grand Chief Serge Simon. “For example, from Quebec, we will work with our First Nation allies in B.C. to make sure that the Kinder Morgan pipeline does not pass, and we know they’ll help us do the same against Energy East.”

It comes not only from a legal and cultural responsibility to protect their land, water, air, and climate from harm, said Grand Chief Derek Nepinak of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, but a desire to safeguard a future for all peoples, Indigenous and non-Indigenous as well.

“We want to work with the Prime Minister and the government to develop a sustainable economy that does not marginalize our people,” he said. “This is a time of great spiritual awakening for our peoples as we reinvigorate our Nations and ensure a better tomorrow for all.”

While First Nations, environmentalists and other key stakeholders across North America argue that pipelines, tankers, and oil by rail increase the risk of catastrophic oil spills, threaten critical marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and put international climate targets out of reach, energy companies argue that they will revitalize struggling Canadian economies by bringing energy to overseas markets.

The energy companies also argue that their proposed projects promote responsible resources development. The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers however, Canada’s largest oil and gas lobby group, said the Treaty Alliance will not change the way its members do business with Indigenous communities.

Oil and gas industry to carry on

“Our member companies work with First Nations and Metis communities all the time, regularly, and have a long history of doing that,” said Brian McGuigan, CAPP’s manager of aboriginal policy. “We’ll continue to work with them. Members work with them everyday and have very positive relationships… It’s not always easy conversations, but they continue the dialogue.”

He would not comment on whether he felt the newly-signed document would hinder CAPP’s goal of getting Canadian oil to tidewater.

The new treaty builds on a series of major First Nations victories against oilsands expansion projects, including a Federal Court of Appeal decision in June that overturned the Harper government’s approval of the Enbridge Northern Gateway project, and rallies across the continent that contributed to U.S. President Barack Obama’s decision to kill the Keystone XL pipeline.

American signatories to the treaty include the Standing Rock Sioux, who are fighting Dakota Access Pipeline, the Lummi Nation in Washington, which is currently fighting the Trans Mountain expansion, and the White Earth Nation in Minnesota, which has launched a legal complaint against the Enbridge Line 3 program. Canadian signatories include B.C.’s Katzie First Nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, Carrier Sekani Tribal Council, Wet’suwet’en First Nation, and Heiltsuk First Nation, among others.

Here’s what the treaty says:

“Therefore, our Nations hereby join together under the present treaty to officially prohibit and to agree to collectively challenge and resist the use of our respective territories and coasts in connection with the expansion of the production of the Alberta Tar Sands, including for the transport of such expanded production, whether by pipeline, rail or tanker.

As sovereign Indigenous Nations, we enter this treaty pursuant to our inherent legal authority and responsibility to protect our respective territories from threats to our lands, waters, air and climate, but we do so knowing full well that it is in the best interest of all peoples, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to put a stop to the threat of Tar Sands expansion.

We wish to work in collaboration with all peoples and all governments in building a more equitable and sustainable future, one that will produce healthier and more prosperous communities across Turtle Island and beyond, as well as preserve and protect our peoples’ way of life.”

Plan To Maintain The Safety And Well-Being Of The Populace During The Financial Reset & Mass Arrests

A PLAN TO MAINTAIN THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF THE POPULACE DURING THE FINANCIAL RESET

This is a unique plan that my Intel operative ‘Cobra’ asked me to put together forwww.prepareforchange.net. It originally was intended to be specific to me given the industry I am in, but I have broadened the scope to generalize it; my hope is that others so inclined can attempt their own variations regardless of where they live and their personal circumstances.

The primary goal of this document is try and work within the existing corporate power structures to create a way to quickly network across cities, states, regions, and even countries such that we can deal promptly and ethically with the most pressing issues. (Note – the end of this document will go in a direction that may be surprising but is of utmost importance before we as humans get to work.) Given my experience as well as that of others within corporate hierarchies, it seems apparent that within any corporation, company or non-profit entity that there are people who have connections and/or memberships in various affinity groups, trade unions, professional accreditation organizations, and even involvement with local politics or community organizations such as local Chambers of Commerce. These need to be leveraged immediately so as many people can be brought together as possible to quickly address the immediate challenges.

This is going to be necessary because the financial/banking system is going to be shut down for a while. For additional details, please see the Community Leaders Brief (http://www.prepare4change.com/) which has been prepared in anticipation of what has been loosely called by Intel Insiders “The Event” given the long-term impact it will have on the planet. Please read the CLB document in its entirety before proceeding further as it succinctly describes what is needed of community leaders while the financial/banking system is shut down and ultimately rebooted.

As you can imagine after having read the CLB, what you are witnessing on the news (likely for the first time) will have permanent ramifications for society going forward. It is anticipated that that these changes will result in massive improvements in the standard of living globally for all humans as resources will be allocated toward the creation and maintenance of infrastructure and institutions which will ultimately eliminate poverty, war, and environmental destruction. Even more astounding will be the vast number of revelations and disclosures which will forever change the way we view governments’ accountability to the citizenry.

But before we get to that ‘Promised Land’ of the future, we need to get through the present. The remainder of this document will focus on short-term tools which can be used to mitigate any pain, suffering, and overall inconvenience caused by such a massive reset of government and financial institutions.

To the end of illustrating the task at hand, I have included a diagram below of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs:

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

What I am asking every single person to do is a self-inventory regarding what is needed to remain alive and healthy during a period where modes of commerce which we take for granted are simply not working. While all areas of the pyramid diagram above will come into play at some point, the base represents those things that are most important for everyone. Despite the inconveniences involved, we need to keep things running. Money does not keep society together – people do. As long as we work together in an organized manner, the ingenuity and creativity inherent in our species will allow us to figure out solutions. Nothing is unsolvable as long as there is respectful and ethical collaboration among key decision-makers.

To this end, here is a timeline of how I expect things to play out over the first days after the financial system is shut down and arrests begin:

EVENT (0-3 HOURS IN; Note that my scenario assumes the ‘start’ to be between 7 AM & 9 AM Eastern Standard Time because the vast majority of arrests within the U.S. will be taking place in New York City and Washington D.C. I anticipate other major activity centers to be London, Rome, Paris, Brussels, and Zurich – but this is only an educated guess on my part.)

People will see that something big is going on as major arrests are happening and the banking system shutdown is announced via the news – then they will look out the window and have it reinforced merely by turning around. During that time anyone who is already aware of the EVENT should reach out to respected executives or civic leaders and state that they have a solid working knowledge about what is going on. Ask to meet with various corporate and/or civic leaders to explain the situation as clearly as possible; utilize technology to the best extent possible and have conference calls or video conferences where they can explain what is going on and what is most necessary immediately.

To the greatest extent possible, include electronic or physical copies of the CLB as well as this document. Since we are unsure of whether the respective ‘Prepare For Change’ websites will be up and running due to heavy usage at first, it is recommended that people download copies to their computer or phone and spread these downloaded versions as quickly and widely as possible. DO NOT WORRY about copyright issues or intellectual property concerns; these are meant to be public domain documents that are freely accessible to everyone. The more people are aware of what’s going on and what is urgently needed the easier it will be to create task forces at a local level to deal with needs specific to a wide variety of geographic areas.

To give a flavor of what I will be doing personally, I’ve laid the groundwork through a series of cryptic statements and communications extending all the way back to 2012 with friends, family, and colleagues. Despite the fact that 99% of these encounters resulted in someone asking me if I’m sound of mind, all of these were intentionally designed and executed in such a way that I can quickly and easily say to people when things really start happening:

“Hey, remember when I asked you what you think would happen during a hypothetical so-and-so? Well, turn on the news – it’s not hypothetical anymore. Here are some documents I want you to send to everyone you know. Focus first on those in existing leadership positions or who are ‘talkers’. Anyone you know who is a gossip-monger can be a huge asset at this time, because they can spread this to tons of people very quickly. Have people utilize texting, Facebook, Twitter, email – any medium possible to spread the message. Simply seeing the news will not make people understand this is real; getting documents that were created before this EVENT started from friends, family and colleagues will make people understand that THIS IS VERY REAL AND IT IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING. Please assist to the greatest degree possible”

Once I get some of my friends and family to start their calling/contract trees, my focus will shift to my employer and the vast network of people within my industry:

Initially I plan to have a conference call (which should take roughly 20-30 minutes) with my local site leaders. Once I have briefed them on developments, I would ask to speak to the CEO/CFO/COO and their direct reports – this will be done via conference call as my company’s leadership is in a different setting. My hope is that this can all happen without resistance; I am concerned that I may need to have backing from the Positive Military (I.E. WHITE HATS). Given who will be arrested, the higher up the corporate ladder the more likely it will be that these people will actually ‘know’ some of those being arrested. Be calm and reassuring – if anyone is angry or agitated, appeal to their higher conscience and ethics. Even if someone has actually committed white-collar crimes, this is a chance for complete redemption for anyone willing to help to the greatest degree possible.

  1. I intend to make the gravity of the situation apparent, and stress that this is a time where profits can no longer take precedence. My employer (as do most insurers) likes to promote themselves as a force philanthropically, so I’d like to say that this is the time to back up their P.R. with action.
  2. Encourage a short (15-30 minutes) brain-storming session of next steps. My recommendations:
    1. Let me speak to all employees of the organization. Be consistent with the Community Leaders Brief (CLB) but also add specific actions people can do – contact your city councilperson, utilize networking via the local Chamber of Commerce, utilize your network of friends and family to identify a person in law enforcement or public utilities.
    2. Develop public statements for Executives and/or Civic Leaders to make. These statements must be explicitly clear that there will be full cooperation with any investigations of fraud & wrongdoing, but also that these companies must serve the public interest at this time – which means all employees in departments where operations may be suspended do not lose their jobs, but are rather will be compensated for volunteer time in critical areas (i.e. workers/volunteers to set up food & water banks, setting up public Q&A events where law enforcement and/or other experts can speak, setting up neighborhood watch groups, develop plans for continuity of necessary commerce based upon local needs).
    3. Hire back employees who recently lost their jobs and have them join the workforce in the various humanitarian projects. (Note – This is especially true of any ex-employees who may have experience or connections with non-profits such as food-shelves, meal-delivery services, or past National Guard, Military, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Care, or Peace Corps experience. These employees will be the most valuable assets within your company because they can immediately begin networking and creating task forces to deal with pressing community issues.)
    4. For my own industry, I will encourage my company and others to develop tools unique to insurers which may be able to somewhat offset the lack of liquidity due to the banks being shut down (see end of document).
    5. Determine the best way to reach others within the insurance industry so the steps taken by my employer can serve as a model for other companies. Honestly, this can happen for any company or organization – this is the start of the greatest grass-roots organization of volunteers in history. Everyone can help if they set their mind to it and are willing to work in an organized fashion with large groups of people.

After reaching out to executives, my hope would be to begin speaking to employees via video conferencing across the company. I’m not sure if all of them can be reached at one time, but I suspect most could be reached within 2 hours even if we have to break it up into 4 half-hour segments. This can be done for any corporation which has major office presence in multiple cities/states/countries. This is an ideal way to begin to reach community leaders in government, law enforcement, and key infrastructure such as utility maintenance.

During these meetings I will elaborate regarding what I know – more importantly what I DON’T KNOW – and what steps people can take collectively to ensure that this period does not result in a complete societal breakdown (i.e. contacting other leaders – provide CLB via company email). Appeal toward people’s aspirations – that this doesn’t need to be the end of the world in any sense. Rather, stress that these are the first steps toward a radically more peaceful world, and that we as a species are ‘growing up’ and becoming more mature. This includes holding people accountable for wrongdoings – such that no one anywhere is above the law. Above all, DO NOT PORTRAY YOURSELF AS AN EXPERT IN ALL THINGS! If you don’t know something is factual, make it clear that you have ‘an understanding’ but not that ‘you are a trained and accredited expert’. No single person can or should attempt to be a messiah or PBS-expert on all things like Doris Kearns Goodwin (If you somehow are reading this, DKG, that’s meant to be a light-hearted joke in a serious document!). Plans will work best if groups of people collaborate together as opposed to ‘going it alone’.

EVENT (3-24 HOURS IN)

Spend the rest of that first day of the reset calling people and coordinating; guidelines would be established – the best persons to contact initially would be friends/family who are in the media, law enforcement, public works, city/county/state government and can quickly spread this information to others.) We want things to spread as quickly as possible – key ‘nodes’ for transmitting information will be of utmost importance.

The idea is not to sit and discuss ‘continuity of business’ for your own company. Rather, the goals would be to establish that:

1)       Your company intends to become part of the solution as opposed to being part of the problem

2)       The leaders of our industry are smart enough to recognize when financial considerations are not as important as ensuring people’s safety, peace of mind, and that critical functions such as emergency care, nutritious food, clean food, electricity, communication channels, law enforcement, fire departments, etc. stay running for all people.

Hence every industry should do whatever it can to ‘keep the lights on’ foremost and worry about the financial repercussions once peace and calm have been established. While I hope my own employer can be held up as a model organization for their efforts and assistance, the idea is that every organization of people can help. This should encourage other companies and organizations to follow suit en masse and build a rapid consensus for business and community leaders to help humanitarian efforts.

This step may take most of the evening and night, because by the next morning there will need to be public announcements regarding the timing of certain humanitarian efforts. It will be critical to establish what must stay functioning – hospitals and clinics, electricity, water/sewage, garbage collection, television, internet, phones – and take decisive steps via announcements as well as visible actions that society will not be allowed to fall apart. This second day will be the most critical, so anyone who can assist in this effort should be prepared to work through the night if at all possible. If we can succeed in keeping the masses calm yet engaged mentally and emotionally, we should be in the clear for the rest of the steps.

EVENT (24 TO 72 HOURS IN)

Once a community, city, state, jurisdiction have established clearly what steps will be taken to maintain critical functioning, the time for action and coordination will come next. These two days will require the largest mobilization of volunteers ever assembled on a global level. There will be a great need for people to help out neighbors, friends, and family, but efforts must be made to reach out to poorer areas as well as to locate and assist the elderly and disabled.

In this step we can hopefully begin the ‘Inner-City Marshall Plan’. Instead of allowing supply disruptions to turn these areas into potential flashpoints like Ferguson, Missouri, we can have a coordinated effort to distribute critical supplies and information. If this is done immediately in most areas – and with a large number of brave volunteers and military/militia types – people can be shown directly that this is not “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”.

In addition to these efforts, conversations need to start regarding urban renewal projects:

  • “Does the infrastructure need repair?”
  • “Are there are lot of Crystal Meth or Heroin users who need help?”
  • “Are there problems with violent crime, and what resources are needed to address this permanently and peacefully?”
  • “Is there a site where a manufacturing plant can be built for local jobs (i.e. Free Energy Devices)?”

Hopefully this will plant the seed for a new era of cooperation. In my home country of the U.S.A., I have often seen selfishness repackaged as ‘rugged individualism’. This mindset will not help us move forward. While individual rights will be reasserted, the only way we fix our societies and planet is peaceful cooperation – what we face is too big for small groups to tackle. Big ideas that help hundreds or thousands of people are what we need. Always hold to first principles: “Who needs help most urgently?” “What resources do we have and need to address certain problems?”

PROBLEM-SOLVING ON A SCALE NEVER BEFORE ATTEMPTED

The previous text is a high-level summary, but successful implementation will require significant attention to the details. Since these will vary across the world, the most important initial step is simply reaching out quickly to corporate executives and civic leaders in communities around the globe. These initial encounters will need to be brief and high-level; we will tell people that this is the beginning of a much-needed overhaul of our banking and political systems, but that we need everyone possible to cooperate in order to minimize adverse impacts. Be ready to provide a CLB as well as other suggestions regarding whom to contact and what steps to take.

In order to maximize effectiveness, stick to a simple and consistent message. Focus first on those people whom you know will be willing to listen. Later on it will be necessary to move on to other organizations, but this is the primary reason to focus on those closest in proximity to you – everyone knows someone who lives far away. The idea is to ask for help and to get it when it comes to spreading the word. The more people spread the CLB, this document, and other key pieces of information the more rapidly coalitions will form in various jurisdictions to deal with immediate concerns.

Once this initial burst of activity to ‘spread the word’ has occurred during Day 1, then create organized working groups which will coordinate with the military to develop actionable plans. Once these are established, the focus can shift to details, and eventually to solutions both short and long-term. Here are a few ideas which can be quickly established within the first days after the EVENT in almost any community of people:

  • “Meet & Greets” in which people can gather and have military, law enforcement, local government representatives, etc. come to speak and discuss the most urgent local needs as well as bring food to share via a ‘pot-luck’. One model that could be easily adapted across the country would be to use that of National Night Out (http://natw.org/) where streets are blocked off (weather-permitting) and people can get together and talk with neighbors about what is going on.       These can serve as much-needed ‘venting’ sessions as well. Many of the revelations and disclosures will be utterly horrifying to people; I’ve heard of video evidence that is not suitable for children and will likely cause nausea and vomiting. These will not be released publicly prior to the arrests, so I cannot say for myself what these are like. But I’ve read enough to understand what I will be seeing…there will be a lot of need for hugging and consolation of family/friends. It will be that bad – and the people involved will be shocking as well.
  • Have community meals – think of the “Stone Soup” story we’ve all heard as kids. No one person was able to make a tasty meal unto themselves, but once everyone brought a key ingredient, ultimately everyone within that story had a good hot meal for the night.       Even if this is not possible every day, this can be a way for everyone to have a solid meal and join together for a night of conversation. These can also function as ‘group therapy’ sessions so everyone can discuss and come to grips with what’s occurring globally.
  • To the greatest degree possible, be creative in implementing means for businesses to ‘keep their doors open’ and for supply chains (i.e. producers/manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers) to remain functioning. Even though electronic transaction capabilities will be shut down, there are other mechanisms that which can be used to maintain commerce:
    • Monitor and prevent ‘price gouging’ to the greatest degree possible. As an example, during the evening of 9/11 gas prices in my local community went from roughly $1.00 to $6.00. There was a huge panic that set in and cars were lined up for blocks. This needs to swiftly reported and prosecuted lest a chain reaction of profit-seeking behavior cause a complete breakdown of commerce. Especially regarding items people need, prices should remain ‘locked’ to the greatest extent possible.
    • Limit hoarding of critical items by restricting how much people can purchase at one time.       This is not a situation where these supplies will never again be available…it’s just a temporary supply disruption which will be over within a month.
    • Accept checks, cash, gold, & silver as money for purchasing supplies as debit cards, credit cards, and ATMs will not work.
    • Any local chamber of commerce can work with community leaders in a given jurisdiction to temporarily implement a “Scrip Currency” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrip) which can be used as a form of credit over the financial shutdown. As long as it is accepted by the vast majority of businesses, to the extent supplies exist commerce can be maintained. This can even be extended toward extension of IOUs for businesses such that supplies can still be shipped and distributed as much as possible.

My understanding is that funds exist such that up to $1,000 of credit can be extended for each person as a means to obtain supplies. This could mean that each community would be given funds in the amount of $1,000 per person which can be used to back any local Scrip currency. This could easily restore confidence on a local level such that businesses feel certain they will receive legitimate compensation for any goods or services they provide.

    • Lastly, every business that remains open should keep receipts or other documentation should they have the need to recoup lost income. Given that this reset is necessary due to the criminal activities of a small but astronomically wealthy individuals around the globe, there is a very high likelihood that any lost income can be indemnified using the insurance and legal system.   The wealth of those individuals will be seized and used to pay damages to those affected. However, given the vast scope of the ensuing investigations and auditing of various money trails, it may not arrive overnight. To this extent, each business will have to weigh the pros and cons of ‘staying open. But if you are willing to remain open as a service to your community, it will be better advertising than you could ever purchase.
  • To the extent a critical mass of commerce cannot be maintained, here are other alternatives to help supplies get where they are most needed.
    • Local “Swap Meets” can be created as a means to barter and trade for goods and services.       This will be necessary given the expected supply disruptions. The vast majority of people will not have the necessary supplies to get through several weeks without buying food or toiletries. Furthermore, it’s likely that people who have stocked up will find a few things that they didn’t remember to get. These swap meets can be used to trade critical supplies and even services; to the extent that someone needs help with a project, perhaps people can offer a service such as snow removal, yard work, etc. in return for food or toilet paper.
    • Use existing ‘Food Shelf’ networks as primary distribution centers of supplies.       It is unknown exactly how many ‘supplies’ have been held aside for this massive operation. My understanding is that a lot exists, but it will need to be moved quickly and efficiently from hitherto secret storehouses to various distribution sites within each country. Again, while I’m focusing on my knowledge of the U.S., this should be applicable everywhere – there need to be gathering places where people are able to obtain critical supplies safely.
    • If you are someone who would identify oneself as a ‘prepper’, you probably have supplies for several months or years. I have good news and bad news for you. The bad news – things didn’t go to hell like you’ve been shouting about forever. The good news, you can be a hero in your own community if you are willing to share with others.

This also goes for being willing to teach people useful survival skills such as preparing fires, the identification and gathering of nonconventional but healthy foods, preparation of these foods, and also how to organize neighborhood ‘citzen’s police forces’ to assist the local law enforcement in maintaining civility.

    • Lastly, if you have an object or supply that you are certain you will not need, be willing to simply give it to another person who actually does need it.       This can include simply spending time with people – perhaps one adult will offer to babysit children so other adults are free to work on critical humanitarian projects. Almost every object will be replaceable eventually, and free time will actually exist again as technologies are used to not only expand the workforce but to actually compress the hours any individual needs to work. Ultimately, the most important resources we have as people are each other.       We need treat each other with civility and respect as we learn new ways to simply get along and have a functioning society.

IN LIGHT OF THE DISCLOSURES – A PLEA FOR CIVILITY, PATIENCE, AND UNDERSTANDING

Any of you reading this for the first time on this particular day will likely have your heads spinning since the rug has been pulled out from under you. Once you gain your bearings and fully grasp everything that is going on – and everything that has been going on secretly in the past – you will likely be overwhelmed by a sense of grief. Your sense of reality will implode upon itself as everything you’ve believed to be true will be shattered forever. I know this because it has happened to me at multiple stages of my learning process. This is true of everyone I’ve encountered – all of those colleagues whom I’ve never met in person but have forever shaped how I think and feel about the planet I currently live upon.

Once everything ‘clicks’, there will be a moment when you feel one emotion more intensely than ever before: ANGER

When it hits you – and it will – stop and take a deep breath. This is the moment when every person has to choose how to channel and focus that energy. Do you lash out in a temper tantrum like an angry toddler? Do you crumble to the ground soaked by your own tears? Or do you just sit there – stunned and unable to move?

My recommendation that first time is to let the wave of emotion ride over you, but to do nothing until it subsides. Don’t yell, don’t scream – don’t say anything. Just feel it and let it flow. When you get a chance to calm down, that is when the real work begins.

This may not happen today, my guess is that it will hit everyone differently in the coming weeks given the nearly infinite variety of personalities we humans have. But when the wave hits you again, this time let your emotions flow freely. If you need to stare off blankly into space, if you need to be alone, if you need to cry, feel free to do so. If you need a hug, ask for a hug – even if the only person near you is a complete stranger. We are all brothers and sisters in this strange messed-up reality, and we need to come together as a family to heal.

Part of the healing process will be innumerable publicly televised truth and reconciliation hearings. There’s really no other way, because all of the sordid details cannot and should not be hidden away any longer. The media has been under control for so long that it will be difficult to believe the truth when you see it, but instead of viewing the media collectively as an enemy, look at it as a tool that at long last can allow the truth to come to light. This is our group therapy as a planet – this will be how we heal.

As ‘impossibly evil’ things are shown and proven to be real over and over again, there will be a groundswell building for justice and retribution. There will be a desire for public executions of the worst criminals. My sincere hope is that collectively the populace will exercise caution and proceed slowly on these matters. For starters, I believe a global moratorium should be enacted in all countries on scheduled executions. Seriously, can’t we stop having violent death on this planet for at least a few days or weeks!

Let that stop for a while. I honestly believe that certain people who are deemed ‘guilty’ and were viewed as deserving of capital punishment may end up being key witnesses for some of the crimes against humanity that will come to light. It may even be provable that some are actually innocent, or were at least not in control of their minds at the time they committed their heinous crimes. Look, the ‘switch’ of the proverbial electric chair can be turned on at any time – but at our current level of technology we cannot undo an execution of a wrongly accused person.

We need to exercise patience and not rush to judgment. I distinctly remember hearing the passionate pleas for revenge after all of the death and chaos of 9/11. People were so angry within the U.S. that they wanted to bomb someone – ANYONE – that very day! Now look at all the pain and suffering that has wrought around the world – was any of it worthwhile or necessary? Are we truly happy and better off with the results? Millions dead, entire countries bereft of modern functioning infrastructure. Hundreds of thousands of angry wounded veterans, and scores of suicides among them due to self-hate, poverty, and being permanently disabled. Trillions spent, wasted, stolen – whatever you want to call it. All of it done because of lies, lies, and more lies.

None of that would have been able to happen had there been a collective ‘deep breath’ and a grim determination to actually look at the evidence to figure out what really happened as well as who had the motive and means to pull off the entire operation. We were fools then, and it nearly brought the entire world to the brink of World War III. Let’s not make the same mistake again. Let’s give all willing witnesses and whistleblowers a chance to testify and share their stories. To the extent that previously suppressed evidence comes to light, that evidence needs to be considered and weighed in accordance to other evidence and testimony. People will be coming out of the woodwork for months – finally unafraid to tell their story as they are no longer worried about being killed for what they know.

These voices will need to be heard before we can truly feel that we understand what’s happened and who is ultimately responsible. Even those with decades of experience investigating these crimes will be surprised on certain occasions – it’s inevitable as part of the process of uncovering the truth. We don’t want to resort to the public hysteria of the French Revolution where every nobleman and woman was considered guilty just because of what their status was in society. Let’s figure out if some of the good guys (and women) were actually working secretly with the bad guys. For those dealing in the shady world of ‘Black Ops’, it is hard to walk away completely clean, and it may turn out that someone who is considered ‘guilty’ initially may end up being viewed as a hero because they prevented a full-out nuclear war that would have caused our ultimate extinction.

Along this same vein, I ask everyone to extend this same degree of patience, understanding and forgiveness to family, friends, co-workers, estranged lovers, political rivals, and ultimately even to complete strangers. Everyone on the planet has been subjected to pressures and influences that have caused us to hurt others – sometimes this has been done consciously, but a lot of it has been ‘programmed’ into us as well. We need to look at each other differently – not as separate races or sexes, but as fellow humans. We are all reflections of each other. If someone hurt us prior to today, ask them why they chose to say those hurtful words or do that horrible deed.

I’m not talking about egregious things here such as violent assault or cold-blooded murder here, although our understanding of those things will become far more nuanced in the years to come. But right now, I’m referring to examples more about the stressed-out parent who violently explodes at their kid for getting a speeding ticket, or the boss who is so afraid of losing their job that they scheme to falsely blame one of their employees for a key mistake and then justifies firing them instead. Most of us are not ‘angels’, and many of us have done cruel things to others simply due to a perceived need to maintain one’s lifestyle. Fear of losing what we have can drive almost any person to do despicable things, and it is the rare person who can look in the mirror and say they’ve never done such a thing. Ultimately, we need to take a step back and try to understand each other regarding these most selfish actions; we may find out we are much more able to forgive than we ever thought possible.

As a stark example, even mafia hit men have sometimes committed the most heinous crimes simply to avoid having their loved ones tortured and killed. They got into that particular line of work because they saw a way to take care of their family, and ended up losing their humanity in the process. Sometimes a toxic mix of love and fear can cause us to do horrible things to others. However, after today we no longer have to be afraid. We can be angry, but we no longer have to fear. We can love each other and be loved back in return.

On that note, it’s time to get to work and fix our planet, people! Let’s do this!

BREXIT BODY COUNT — Bill Holter ~ SGTreport.com

BREXIT: Does it signal a tidal wave of rising sentiment against the international criminal banking syndicate and its Globalist agenda, or is it merely a Trojan horse designed by the Rothschild banksters to further ensnare humanity in their NWO spider’s web? After all, Rothschild puppet George Soros was very publicly shorting stocks and going long gold in the months leading up to the Brexit vote. Did he know something the rest of us didn’t? Regardless, Bill Holter says there are dead bodies that need to be carried out as the result of the global financial chaos we saw on Friday, June 24th – and we will know a lot more about who those bodies belong to, on Monday morning. Bill Holter from JS Mineset joins us to discuss.

Is Hawaii a legal state of the United States ? Megeso Kou

On February 23rd, 2016, the following conversations took place on KKCR radio, with Kauai Chief Prosecutor Justin Kollar. The discussion was in regards to the Prosecutor seeing, and providing, irrefutable proof that Hawaii is a legal state of the United States. During this discussion, the Chief Prosecutor says that he is “COMFORTABLE” with what he has seen that Hawaii is a legal state of the United States. The question is, ‘Did he see the actual Treaty’? If so, then producing a copy in court would be easy and legally satisfy those who pursue this truth. As of now, people are being prosecuted and oppressed on an assumption that the United States has jurisdiction in Hawaii. The truth must be told and proven, or was Hawaii illegally annexed? Where’s the treaty? Also, in the court of law, the Chief Prosecutor is well aware that one must be found guilty of something “BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT”. Does “BEING COMFORTABLE”, regarding what he has seen as proof, even though he has not shared this proof with those of us being denied our human rights, and our inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In the process of getting to the truth, individuals are being oppressed, harassed, assaulted, arrested and prosecuted, against their will, especially when no bodily harm has been committed. I ask again, “Does BEING COMFORTABLE seeing something, that is not the actual treaty, qualify as “BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of doubt when one cannot produce a document that is supposedly a part of history, one way or the other. Seems like abuse of power. I choose to live, and co-create, in a world of peaceful nations. Stop the insanity of world war and separation and evolve into a world of peace and unity, where abundance is for all.

Under International Law Native Hawaiians are Victims of Genocide

by Hawaiian Kingdom
Under international humanitarian law, which is the law of occupation and the protection afforded civilians who are not engaged in war, denationalization is not only a war crime but is synonymous with the term genocide. Since the occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom began during the Spanish-American War, the United States embarked on a deliberate campaign of forced denationalization in order to conceal the occupation and militarization of a neutral State. Denationalization, in its totality, is genocide.
Children_Salute_1907
Prior to World War I, violations of international law did not include war crimes, or, in other words, crimes where individuals, as separate and distinct from the State or country, could be prosecuted and where found guilty be punished, which included the death penalty. The Commission on the Responsibility of the Authors of the War and on Enforcement of Penalties (Commission on Responsibility) of the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 took up the matter of war crimes after World War I (1914-1918). The Commission identified 32 war crimes, one of which was “attempts to denationalize the inhabitants of occupied territory.”
Although the 1907 Hague Convention, IV, did not specify the term “denationalization” as a war crime, the Commission on Responsibility relied on the preamble of the 1899 Hague Convention, II, which states, “Until a more complete code of the laws of war is issued, the High Contracting Parties think it right to declare that in cases not included in the Regulations adopted by them, populations and belligerents remain under the protection and empire of the principles of international law, as they result from the usages established between civilized nations, from the laws of humanity and the requirements of the public conscience.” This preamble has been called the Martens clause, which was based on a declaration read by the Russian delegate, Professor von Martens, at the Hague Peace Conference in 1899.
In October of 1943, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union established the United Nations War Crimes Commission (UNWCC). World War II had been waging since 1939, and atrocities committed by Germany, Italy and Japan drew the attention of the Allies to hold individuals responsible for the commission of war crimes. On December 2, 1943, the UNWCC adopted by resolution the list of war crimes that were drawn up by the Commission on Responsibility in 1919 with the addition of another war crime—indiscriminate mass arrests. The UNWCC was organized into three Committees: Committee I (facts and evidence), Committee II (enforcement), and Committee III (legal matters).
Committee III was asked to draft a report expanding on the war crime of “denationalization” and its criminalization under international law. Committee III did not rely solely on the Martens clause as the Commission on Responsibility did in 1919, but rather used it as an aid to interpret the articles of the 1907 Hague Convention, IV. It, therefore, concluded that “attempts to denationalize the inhabitants of occupied territory” violated Article 43, where the occupying State must respect the laws of the occupied State; Article 46, where family honor and rights and individual life must be respected; and Article 56, where the property of institutions dedicated to education is protected.
In 1944, Professor Raphael Lemkin first coined the term “genocide” in his publication Axis Rule in Occupied Europe (p. 79-95). The term is a combination of the Greek word genos (race or tribe) and the Latin word cide (killing). The 1919 Commission on Responsibility did list “murders and massacres; systematic terrorism” as war crimes, but Professor Lemkin’s definition of genocide was much broader and more encompassing.
Raphael LemkinAccording to Professor Lenkin, “Generally speaking, genocide does not necessarily mean the immediate destruction of a nation, except when accomplished by mass killings of all members of a nation. It is intended rather to signify a coordinated plan of different actions aiming at the destruction of essential foundations of the life of national groups, with the aim of annihilating the groups themselves. The objectives of such a plan would be disintegration of the political and social institutions, of culture, language, national feelings, religion, and the economic existence of national groups, and the destruction of the personal security, liberty, health, dignity, and even the lives of the individuals belonging to such groups.”
“Genocide has two phases,” argued Professor Lemkin, “one, destruction of the national pattern of the oppressed group; the other, the imposition of the national pattern of the oppressor. This imposition, in turn, may be made upon the oppressed population which is allowed to remain, or upon the territory alone, after removal of the population and the colonization of the area by the oppressor’s own nationals. Denationalization was the word used in the past to describe the destruction of a national pattern.” Professor Lemkin believed that denationalization was inadequate and should be replaced with genocide.
The term genocide, however, was not a war crime under international humanitarian law at the time, but it appears that Committee III was in agreement with Professor Lenkin that it should be a war crime. The problem that faced Committee III was how to categorize genocide as a war crime under the Hague Convention, IV. On September 27, 1945, Committee III argued that denationalization was not a single act of “depriving the inhabitants of the occupied territory of their national characteristics,” but rather a program that attempted to achieve this result through: “interference with the methods of education; compulsory education in the language of the occupant; … the ban on the using of the national language in schools, streets and public places; the ban on the national press and on the printing and distributing of books in the language of the occupied region; the removal of national symbols and names, both personal and geographical; [and] interference with religious services as far as they have a national peculiarity.”
Committee III also argued that denationalization included other activities such as: “compulsory or automatic granting of the citizenship of the occupying Power; imposing the duty to swearing the oath of allegiance to the occupant; the introduction of the administrative and judicial system of the occupying Power, the imposition of its financial, economic and labour administration, the occupation of administrative offices by nationals of the occupying Power; compulsion to join organizations and associations of the occupying Power; colonization of the occupied territory by nationals of the occupant, exploitation and pillage of economic resources, confiscation of economic enterprises, permeation of the economic life through the occupying State or individuals of the nationality of the occupant.”
Committee III also stated that these activities by the occupying State or its nationals would also “fall under other headings of the list of war crimes.”
There were apparent similarities between Professor Lemkin’s definition of genocide and the Committee III’s definition of denationalization. Professor Lemkin argued that genocide was more than just mass murder of a particular group of people, but “the specific losses of civilization in the form of the cultural contributions which can only be made by groups of people united through national, racial or cultural characteristics (Lemkin, Genocide as a Crime under International Law, 41 AJIL (1947) 145, at 147).” Similarly, Committee III argued that denationalization “kill[s] the soul of the nation,” and was “the counterpoint to the physical act of killing the body, which was ordinary murder (Preliminary Report of the Chairman of Committee III, C.148, 28 Sept. 1945, 6/34/PAG-3/1.1.0, at 2).”
In its October 4, 1945 report “Criminality of Attempts to Denationalise the Inhabitants of Occupied Territory,” Committee III renamed denationalization to be genocide.
On December 11, 1946, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution that declared genocide a crime under the existing international law and recommended member States to sign a convention. After two years of study, the General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide on December 9, 1948. By the Convention, genocide has been recognized as a crime even when there is no war or the occupation of a State. Genocide became an international crime along with piracy, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, human trafficking, money laundering and smuggling of cultural artifacts. During war or the occupation of a State, genocide is synonymous with the war crime of denationalization.
In the Trial of Ulrich Greifelt and Others (October 10, 1847-March 10, 1948) at Nuremberg, the United States Military Tribunal asserted Committee III’s interpretation that genocide can be committed through the war crime of denationalization. In its decision, the Tribunal concluded that, “genocide…may be perpetuated through acts representing war crimes. Among these cases are those coming within the concept of forced denationalisation (p. 42).”
The Tribunal explained, “In the list of war crimes drawn up by the 1919 Commission on the Responsibility of the Authors of the War and on Enforcement of Penalties, there were included as constituting war crimes ‘attempts to denationalize the inhabitants of occupied territory.’ Attempts of this nature were recognized as a war crime in view of the German policy in territories annexed by Germany in 1914, such as in Alsace and Lorraine. At that time, as during the war of 1939-1945, inhabitants of an occupied territory were subjected to measures intended to deprive them of their national characteristics and to make the land and population affected a German province (p. 42).”
When the Hawaiian Kingdom was occupied during the Spanish-American War, the United States operated in complete disregard to the recognized principles of the law of occupation at the time. Instead of administering the laws of the Hawaiian Kingdom, being the occupied State, the United States imposed its own laws, administration, judiciary and economic life throughout the Hawaiian Islands in violation of Hawaiian independence and sovereignty. According to Professor Limken, this action taken by the United States would be considered as “the imposition of the national pattern of the oppressor,” which is the second phase of genocide after the national pattern of the occupied State had been destroyed under the first phase.
In other words, the actions taken by the United States was precisely what the Axis Powers did in occupied territories during World War I and II, which, according to Committee III, included “interference with the methods of education; compulsory education in the language of the occupant; … the ban on the using of the national language in schools, streets and public places; the ban on the national press and on the printing and distributing of books in the language of the occupied region; the removal of national symbols and names, both personal and geographical; [and] interference with religious services as far as they have a national peculiarity. [As well as] compulsory or automatic granting of the citizenship of the occupying Power; imposing the duty to swearing the oath of allegiance to the occupant; the introduction of the administrative and judicial system of the occupying Power, the imposition of its financial, economic and labour administration, the occupation of administrative offices by nationals of the occupying Power; compulsion to join organizations and associations of the occupying Power; colonization of the occupied territory by nationals of the occupant, exploitation and pillage of economic resources, confiscation of economic enterprises, permeation of the economic life through the occupying State or individuals of the nationality of the occupant.”
Under Hawaiian law, native (aboriginal ) Hawaiians had universal health care at no charge through the Queen’s Hospital, which received funding from the Hawaiian Kingdom legislature. Early into the occupation, however, American authorities stopped the funding in 1904, because they asserted that the collection of taxes used to benefit a particular ethnic group violated American law. In a legal opinion by the Territorial Government’s Deputy Attorney General E.C. Peters on January 7, 1904, to the President of the Board of Health, Peters stated, “I am consequently of the opinion that the appropriation of the sum of $30,000.00 for the Queen’s Hospital is not within the legitimate scope of legislative authority.”
Since 1904, aboriginal Hawaiians had to pay for their healthcare from an institution that was established specifically for them at no charge. As a result, many aboriginal Hawaiians could not afford medical care in their own country, which has led to the following dire health statistics today.
  • 4% of aboriginal Hawaiians who were surveyed in 2013 reported that they do not have any kind of health care coverage, which is the highest rate across all ethnic groups surveyed (Nguyen & Salvail, Hawaii Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, State of Hawai‘i Department of Health).
  • Aboriginal Hawaiians have the highest rate of diabetes in the Hawaiian Islands (Crabbe, Eshima, Fox, & Chan (2011), Native Hawaiian Health Fact Sheet 2011, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Demography Section, Research Division).
  • 5% of aboriginal Hawaiians are overweight, which is higher than any other ethnic group in the Hawaiian Islands (Nguyen & Salvail, 2013).
  • 7% of aboriginal Hawaiians have high blood pressure, being second only to Japanese at 39.7% (Nguyen & Salvail, 2013).
  • Aboriginal Hawaiians are more likely to have chronic diseases than non-aboriginal Hawaiians (Nguyen & Salvail, 2013).
  • 48% of the deaths of aboriginal Hawaiian children occur during the perinatal period (Crabbe et al., 2011).
  • 7% of aboriginal Hawaiian adults report being diagnosed with a depressive disorder (Nguyen & Salvail, 2013).
Professor Lemkin would view these statistics as connoting “the destruction of the biological structure” of aboriginal Hawaiians, which is the outcome of the second phase of genocide where the imposition of the national pattern of the oppressor has been established. In addition to these statistics are added the deaths of aboriginal Hawaiians who died in the wars of the United States after forced conscription into the Armed Forces and their compulsion to swear allegiance. These wars included World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

President Putin facilitates the “Space of Love” concept in Russia

Note: Before the illegal military occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom in the 1890’s, there was no concept as “land ownership”. The monarchy gave residents a parcel of land to steward in perpetuity and was theirs pass on to family members – as long as the land was cared for as mutually agreed upon, based on land covenants.  This is an interesting move to observe on Putin’s behalf….Blessings, {~A~}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In January 2015 Russia enacted the principle thing that Anastasia suggests for all nations to do:
– For the governments of the world to GIFT to all families of that nation what she termed “a Space of Love” or a “Kin’s Domain”. This is an area of land that a couple, a group of retirees, or a “family” (a very wide definition here) would establish for themselves and their children and grandchildren, into perpetuity. This would involve putting up your permanent buildings and out-houses such as sheds, woodwork shop, chicken coops, fish farming processing plant, home dairy (cheese, yoghut, etc production), milking shed, piggery, etc… (whatever YOU and your family want!) and planting your permanent fruiting trees and berries, and your timber trees for future generations, and obviously, establishing your vegetable garden. In English-language terms, a “Kin’s Domain” would be the family’s or the group’s “homestead”.
Anastasia specified that the area of land GIVEN to each couple or family should be One Hectare (just as Russian Deputy PM Yuri Tretnev proposed pre-2015) – so people can plant their own crops, raise small animals, have space for their children to run around and learn about nature, keep bees, enjoy each other’s company and welcome people outside of the family.
Anastatia envisaged (in “The Ringing Cedars of Russia” books published in Russian in 1996), that these “Kins Domains” or “Spaces of Love” would eventually return the whole world back to the “Garden Paradise” that it was originally: PEOPLE living on the land would work on creating a beautiful and useful garden on their “Kins Domain” and thereby, all efforts would return the whole world back to its original pristine condition…  A “garden of paradise”.  For example:
This is Tim Wilmott’s garden in England !!
He created this tropical garden paradise over a 20-year period.
See what humans can do?  … Amazing !!!  : )
Please note:  The amount of ARABLE land on planet earth is 7,500,000,000 acres… (7.5 billion). You can easily Google these figures. That’s the same number of acres as there are people on the planet – so right now, every man, woman and child could have guardianship of one acre…  RIGHT NOW !!
And just to clarify: “Arable” land means fertile, good to grow trees, food and vegetables on…  ie: it’s not rock or sand, but it’s good soil.
Also, there are billions of acres of non-arable land on the earth as well, which is where towns and cities could be built (or remain), where manufacturing could happen, IT, commerce, government buildings, and all kinds of other infrastructure such as ship building, airports, logistics…
ie:  There would be no problems whatsoever in getting everbody on this planet
on to FARMABLE LAND.  There is PLENTY for all !!  : )
Homestead Act for Russian Far East – Putin supports free land handout
https://www.rt.com/politics/224099-russia-land-free-east/
The Russian president has approved the idea to offer large land plots for free to anyone who resettles to the Russian Far East to start a farm or other business.
The initiative was first voiced by the deputy PM and presidential envoy to the Far East Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, who said that such a step would “strengthen the tendency of people’s migration to the Far East,” Interfax reported.Trutnev told reporters that Putin called the idea right in principle and noted that similar programs had been successfully implemented in Siberia historically. Putin urged all responsible officials to be precise and cautious when detailing the conditions for land ownership, however.
Trutnev’s initial suggestion was to “create a mechanism for the free allocation of a 1 hectare (2.5 acres) plot of land to every resident of the Far East and to anyone who is willing to come and live in the region so that they could start a private business in farming, forestry, game hunting or some other enterprise.”
He added that the agreement could be signed for five years, and then it should either enter full force if the new landlord follows the plan, or be declared void if the land is not used. He also added that corruption in the process of distribution can be prevented if the land plots are far from big cities with their well-developed infrastructure and competitive environment.
The scheme has been designed to limit the possible selling of the land plots to foreign companies and individuals, Trutnev said. “We will give it a try,” he said. “I think this measure will prove to be effective.”
India Won’t Suppress Tewari’s Free Energy Generator
overunity-india-702x336
India considers its own free energy program a matter of national pride, and is very much willing to risk antagonizing Petrodollar countries with its support on Reactionless AC Synchronous Generator (RLG) invented by its own Paramahamsa Tewari, an electrical engineer and former Executive Director of Nuclear Power Corporation of India.
Years ago, Tewari has also proven the theories inside Bruce de Palma’s homopolar engine which first exposed this writer to the world of free energy technologies.
Obviously, a country cannot implement its own free energy program without considering all possible consequence including a military response from Petrodollar countries, e.g. Saudi Arabia, UK, US. That’s why India has been aligning its own military program with that of Russia which at present is standing up, together with the BRICS countries, against the Nazionist cabal imposing all sorts of sanctions to destroy it.
The BRICS alliance has in the past promised to release all suppressed technologies, e.g. free energy, for our responsible utilization. It looks like they are keeping their word.
Breaking News: Over-Unity Reactionless Generator Invented In India
(Collective Evolution) A Reactionless AC Synchronous Generator (RLG) has been invented by Paramahamsa Tewari, electrical engineer and former Executive Director of Nuclear Power Corporation of India. His background includes engineering project management for construction of nuclear power stations. The efficiency of models he has built, which have also been independently built and tested, is as high as 250%.
In November 2014, I made one of many visits to the laboratory of Paramahamsa Tewari. I had seen the basis for the RLG design in September of 2010. Mr. Tewari showed me a stiff conductor about a foot long which was allowed to rotate at the center and connected at each end with small gauge wire. A magnetic circuit was placed under the conductor. When a current was allowed to flow through the conductor it rotated, due to a torque induced on the conductor according to Flemings Left Hand Rule and standard theory, verified by experiments at the dawn of the electrical age. With a simple rearrangement of the magnetic circuit, the same current produced no rotation – the torque was cancelled. I later duplicated the setup and experiment on my workbench. It is ingenious and lead to his breakthrough, the invention of a reactionless generator with greatly improved efficiency.
1
This experiment has lead to the design and testing of generators with efficiencies far above any previous design. The design uses the same types of materials used in current generators, but the magnetic circuit within the machine is configured to cancel back torque while inducing current and producing power. This might be compared to the rearrangement of materials by the Wright Brothers to build a surface with lift that resulted in manned flight in a time when many, including scientists, said it was impossible. Indeed, physicists who cling to an outdated model of the properties and structure of space have declared what has been done by Tewari to be impossible.
During the November testing I witnessed two tests of efficiency on the new model in Tewari’s lab. The second test was several percent better than the first and produced 6.6 KVA with an efficiency of 238%. A second set of stator coils was not connected yet but is expected to increase output to 300%. This is a 3 phase, 248 volt Hz, AC synchronous generator operating at 50 Hz. State of the art, true RMS meters on the input and output that measured KW, KVA, and power factor confirmed the readings of meters we had supplied for tests I observed in April of 2014.
We were able to visit a 130-acre factory site of one of the top electrical machinery manufacturing companies in India. At this site the company manufactures rotating electrical machines, including generators. When the chief electrical engineer first saw the drawings and design of the RLG he knew immediately what it meant for efficiency! Because of their confidence in the design, and the results of the tests on the smaller model, the company has assembled a self-excited machine designed to produce 20 KVA.
When we arrived at the factory a vice president of the company, the factory general manager, and the chief engineer greeted us. We then inspected the new machine and met the engineering design team assigned to this project. They are electrical and mechanical engineers who design and build conventional generators with output as high as 500 KVA. They are very enthusiastic and understand the breakthrough. A second machine rated at 25 KVA is now under construction at this company in India.
kva
I believe, as do the engineers in India, that this is the biggest breakthrough in rotating electrical machine design since Faraday’s invention of the electrical motor in 1832. The elimination of back torque allows all the energy generated to pass through the machine. Power output is determined by the strength of the excitation magnets and the synchronous reactance (resistance at 50/60 Hz) of the stator windings. Current models can be cascaded for higher output. Each machine can produce at least 2.38 times the input and can be configured in a self-running mode. Due to concentration on efficiency and design improvements the machine has not yet been configured in this manner.
During a visit to witness tests in December of 2012, we were guests of the engineering director of a large utility company, and we toured a generation facility which the director pointed out was ready for RLG systems as soon as they are scaled to the required size. In March 2015 we returned to India for licensing discussions. Current plans call for introductory models to be marketed at 10 KVA and 25 KVA. A second company is involved in manufacturing discussions and the Karnataka Power Corporation, which supplies Bangalore, is investigating the use of 200 KVA units in a wind farm application as described in the April 7th edition of Asia Times.
The November 2013 issue of The Atlantic magazine features an article on The 50 Greatest Breakthroughs Since the Wheel. The RLG is more than just a product or a technical innovation. It is a fundamental change in the way that energy can be generated. It overcomes the inherent inefficiencies of AC generators. Patents have been filed and the RLG is ready to be licensed to companies that manufacture rotating electrical machinery. In fact, discussions with companies on three continents are underway.
We believe that the RLG is a fundamental discovery, not an innovation. Mankind’s first fundamental discovery was harnessing and controlling fire. The second was the wheel. The third was harnessing and controlling electricity. The fourth was harnessing and controlling the atom. The RLG can turn wheels without the use of fire (fossil fuels) or the atom (nuclear plants). It is a 21st century innovation. The first four of these innovations involved an understanding of material elements. The RLG is based on an understanding of the non-material properties of space. Paramahamsa Tewari’s search for the nature of reality has led him from study of the ancient Vedas of India to the formulation of Space Vortex Theory. It is a new theory unifying the relationship between space, mass, inertia, light, and gravity. Starting with principles described in the Vedic texts, Tewari was able to delineate a mathematical model that explains the words of Tesla when he said:
“All perceptible matter comes from a primary substance, or tenuity beyond conception, filling all space, the akasha or luminiferous ether, which is acted upon by the life giving Prana or creative force, calling into existence, in never ending cycles all things and phenomena.” – Nikola Tesla,“Man’s Greatest Achievement,” 1907
In Tewari’s words:
“The universal matter is created out of prana since prana is aakaash in motion, and aakaash is the primordial superfluid substratum of the universe.”
The concept that efficiencies cannot be greater than 100% is due to an incomplete understanding of the properties of space. The second law of thermodynamics must be modified to account for the fact that space is not empty, as has been taught for the last 150 years. The RLG operates at what has been called “over unity.” Many experienced electrical engineers engaged in the manufacture of AC generators have independently tested the RLG and confirmed the efficiency ratings that I have observed. It’s time for the physicists to get out of the way and modify their theories while the engineers go about the business of design and production.
Paramahamsa Tewari, Background
Paramahamsa Tewari was born on June 1, 1937, and graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1958 from Banaras Engineering College, India, and held responsible positions in large engineering construction organizations, mostly in nuclear projects of the Department of Atomic Energy, India. He was also deputed abroad for a year at Douglas Point Nuclear Project, Canada. He is presently the retired Executive Nuclear Director, Nuclear Power Corporation, Department of Atomic Energy, India, and is the former Project Director of the Kaiga Atomic Power Project.
Fundamentals of physics attracted Tewari’s imaginations right from the early school and college days. Over the last four decades his new ideas on the basic nature of space, energy, and matter have solidified into definite shape from which a new theory (Space Vortex Theory) has emerged. The theory reveals the most basic issue of relationship between space and matter precisely pinpointing that space is a more fundamental entity than matter. The physical significance of mass, inertia, gravitation, charge and light are revealed by extending the analysis in the theory beyond material properties and into the substratum of space, which again is broken down into fieldless voids, thus showing the limit to which a physical theory can possibly reach. The real universe is shown to be opposite to the current concepts of concrete-matter and empty space. The books that he has authored on Space Vortex Theory are:
  • The Substantial Space and Void Nature of Elementary Material Particles (1977)
  • Space Vortices of Energy and Matter (1978)
  • The Origin of Electron’s Mass, Charge Gravitational and Electromagnetic Fields from “Empty Space” (1982)
  • Beyond Matter (1984)
tewariHe has lectured as invited speaker in international conferences in Germany, USA, and Italy on the newly discovered phenomenon of Space Power Generation. For the practical demonstration of generation of electrical power from the medium of space, Tewari has built reactionless generators that operate at over-unity efficiency, thereby showing physicists have been wrong about the nature of space for 110 years and he has shown that space is the source of energy for the generation of basic forms of energy.
Why There Will Be No Suppression Of New Energy Technology
rlg
It wasn’t long before carriage makers were driving horseless carriages. It wasn’t long before people crossing the continent on trains abandoned the railroads for airliners. Natural gas is replacing coal and there is nothing the railroads, the coal miners, or the coal companies can do about it. Cheaper and more efficient energy always wins out over more expensive energy. Coal replaced wood, and oil replaced coal as the primary source of energy. Anything that is more efficient boosts the figures on the bottom line of the ledger. Dollars chase efficiency. Inefficiency is suppressed by market forces. Efficiency wins in the market place.
The Engineering Director (electrical engineer) of the Karnataka Power Corporation (KPC) that supplies power to 6 million people in Bangalore and the entire state of Karnataka (10,000 megawatt load) told me that Tewari’s machine would never be suppressed (view the machine here). Tewari’s work is known from the highest levels of government on down. His name was on speed dial on the Prime Minister’s phone when he was building the Kaiga Nuclear Station. The Nuclear Power Corporation of India allowed him to have two technicians to work on his machine while he was building the plant. They bought him parts and even gave him a small portable workshop that is now next to his main lab.
Cropmton Greaves Ltd. (the GE of India) have funded his work and corporate directors CGL as well as Reliance (oil and energy) know of his work.
I have also been told by many Indians that the work of Tewari will never be suppressed. It is a matter of national pride. India is ready to take on the world. You can feel it everywhere you go. I realized, the first night here, while mediating at 3:00 AM in the morning, dealing with serious jet lag, that in just over 100 years. since Vivekananda came to the U.S. and introduced the west to Vedic teachings, that in every country of the world, during every minute and every second of the day or night, people are practicing yogic styles of meditation.
Bottom line; efficiency always wins. There will be no suppression of machines with efficiencies higher than those currently on the market.
The Best Way to Eliminate Carbon Emissions
  1. Eliminate Carbon Fuels.
  2. The USA has spent trillions of dollars on fossil fuels. Renewable Energy Systems have no fuel costs. A Utility that has no fuels costs can provide cheaper electricity and do it without releasing CO2
  3. Nothing Lasts Forever. Coal production has already peaked in terms of BTUs per pound. Peak Volumetric production is not far off, probably by 2025.
  4. If we do not use the energy we have now to build an energy system that does not rely on non-renewable energy, we will live in a preindustrial world when fossil fuels run out.
  5. We have a 50 year window to build a new energy system based on the worldwide fossil fuel depletion rate. We need to start now while protecting the health and safety of the coal miners, who will provide the energy we need to get the job done.
Eliminating carbon emissions is an imperative, not requiring a best way; rather it is the only way.
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) –
Does the Hawaiian Kingdom still exist? That’s the question the CEO of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs wants answered by the U.S. Justice Department.
His inquiry has sparked an internal dispute within OHA, as several trustees have attempted to rescind the request, but he’s standing by his decision and now a few trustees are switching sides and backing him as well.
Dr. Kamanaʻopono Crabbe addressed the public today for the first time since submitting a formal request to Secretary of State John Kerry seeking clarification on the legal status of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi.
Flanked by dozens of supporters, Dr. Crabbe held a press conference Monday morning to clarify the intent of his inquiry, which he says was sent within his authority under OHA’s governing documents and Hawai’i statutory law.
He says the chief reason for requesting that Secretary Kerry seek a legal opinion of the U.S. Attorney General regarding the status of Hawai’i under international law is to ensure OHA can effectively facilitate a process of rebuilding a Hawaiian nation.  Dr. Crabbe went on to say highly qualified experts have provided their answers to the questions posed, but it would be irresponsible for OHA to assume the United States views the situation similarly.
“My staff and I have held some 30 community meetings in the past two months regarding our proposed process to rebuild our nation. In that same period we also held two governance summits with key community leaders. At these gatherings, and in other virtual contexts, we heard repeatedly concerns about engaging in a process of rebuilding a nation when — following the research of many legal, historical, and political experts — our nation continues to exist in the context of international law,” Dr. Crabbe said.
Dr. Crabbe says he made the inquiry because these claims appear to be valid, but for over 120 years, Native Hawaiians voices and concerns have not been properly answered.
“It is imperative for us to move forward to have at least accurate information and truth so that our people can make well informed decisions,” Dr. Crabbe said.
Among the questions Dr. Crabbe asked in his letter to Secretary Kerry:
“First, does the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi, as a sovereign independent State, continue to exist as a subject of international law?
Second, if the Hawaiian Kingdom continues to exist, do the sole-executive agreements bind the United States today?”
Experts say these are questions that have come up for decades, since the illegal overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi in 1893 and since the U.S. government formally apologized for the illegal overthrow in 1993, but supporters say this is the first time the State Department has ever been asked point blank for an answer.
OHA’s CEO says his inquiry is not intended to invalidate the nation-building efforts of Kanaʻiolowalu but to make sure self-determination is achieved legally and with no unanswered questions.
“I can only imagine the burden that our Queen Lili’uokalani faced in 1893, but her charge and her legacy, and most of all, her spirit remains with us today, but most of all we must heed not only her guidance but each other,” Dr. Crabbe said.  “For we are all Natives.  We are patriots.  We are sons and daughters of this great land and as we move forward let not the differences divide us, but let our common beliefs and values and the principals of our kupuna unite us.  That is the call I ask from our people, from our trustees and our staff as we move forward in unity,” said Dr. Crabbe.
Only one trustee was present at Monday morning’s press conference, Oswald Stender.  Dr. Crabbe addressed the disagreement that exists between himself and OHA’s trustees since they learned of his inquiry, but says he has not been asked to resign or step down from his position as CEO.
“I continue to believe my decision to send the letter was in the best interest of OHA and the beneficiaries we serve,” said Dr. Crabbe. “The Hawaiian community needed to know that I was inquiring about the very matters they sought to bring forward.  And this is the reason I felt it was imperative to not only ask the questions but that the community be aware of the inquiry.”
Initially, all nine trustees signed a letter asking Secretary Kerry to rescind Dr. Crabbe’s inquiry, which was sent by OHA Chair Colette Machado Friday afternoon.
However, over the weekend Trustee Dan Ahuna sent another letter to Secretary Kerry — this time, asserting his support for Dr. Crabbe’s initial inquiry.
“It clearly appears that Dr. Crabbe is carrying out his fiduciary authority of due diligence in gathering evidence needed to make decisions as the Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs,” Ahuna wrote.  “It is the best interest of our people to gather further information and pertinent documents.”
Immediately following Dr. Crabbe’s press conference Monday morning, Trustee Carmen Hulu Lindsey sent a letter to Chair Machado asking her name be removed from the rescind request.
“I have attended the many community town hall meetings OHA has held throughout the islands and heard the concerns articulated in Dr. Crabbe’s letters expressed by several people.  While those questions may be troubling and difficult to address, it is precisely because they are so that I now believe Dr. Crabbe demonstrated courage and integrity in moving those concerns forward to try to get the clarity we need,” Lindsey wrote.
More than 1,200 people have signed He Mana’o Pono, a petition in support of Dr. Crabbe’s State Department request since Saturday.
“Really what we’ve sought in that letter of support is first to honor Dr. Kamana’opono Crabbe and the position that he’s taken and really bringing to the forefront questions that have plagued our community for generations.  We’re not committed to any particular answers to those questions or outcome , but we are committed to having those questions asked,” said said Dr. Kamanamaikalani Beamer, a law professor with the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa.  “Hawaiʻi is at a pivotal time.  We need facilitative leadership.  We need people that are going to bring our communities together and I feel like answers to these questions and clarifications will help and I want to support a leader that listens to our people.”
“Those are important questions — some of which are coming out of the University right now.  This is cutting edge research on the legal political history of Hawaiʻi that I think is prompting a new kind of awareness in the community.  What you’ve seen the CEO do today is respond to that new awareness — this new curriculum, this new education and research that’s coming out of the university,” said Dr. Willy Kauai, a UH Manoa lecturer in the Ethnic Studies department.  “I think what’s paramount in what took place today was kind of a call for education that, ʻEh, if we’re going to go about doing these important things, such as nation-building, we should probably have a very clear understanding of our own history’.”
Hundreds have commented on the petition.
“The truth can only be hidden from the world for so long. People in positions of power and policy making who have a conscience must speak out to the truth and challenge those who continue to perpetuate the lie that Hawaiʻi is a state of the USA.  Kamanaʻopono Crabbe is another champion in our history of leaders to step forth and question what is perceived to be the truth.  Mahalo nunui e Kamanaʻopono and to all who continue to keep the fire alive!” one supporter wrote.
“As a person of non-Hawaiian ancestry, I stand in solidarity with the statement of support by He Mana’o Pono.  It has been over 100 years of illegal occupation by the US goverment of these sovereign islands and it is high time the US government obliged to its obligations under international law as an occupying power, to uphold the Hawaiian constitution until such time as to the end of said occupation,” wrote another who signed the petition.
In a statement from OHA Chair Colette Machado sent to Hawaii News Now and all of the OHA staff, Machado writes she agrees Dr. Crabbe “has identified important questions that have been asked by many advocates for Hawaiʻi’s independence throughout the decades since the illegal overthrow of our Queen”, but says his actions “by-passed our Hawaiian legislators who have worked diligently, against great odds, to protect our Native Hawaiian trusts, programs, lands and entitlements.  They also sponsored and promoted Act 195 for the Kanaʻiolowalu roll.”
“I believe that the action pursued by Ka Pouhana demonstrates a lack of respect for the over 125,000 Native Hawaiians who registered to participate in the process,” Machado wrote.
According to Machado, an executive session will be held to address the trustees concerns with Dr. Crabbe next week at which time they will “initiate an investigation of the breach of established processes” and decide on a strategy to have the questions Dr. Crabbe raised addressed “without affecting the Kanaiʻiolowalu process and OHA’s commitment to facilitating a process to reorganize a Native Hawaiian Governing Entity.” Machado says the trustees will take “appropriate action” following their meeting.
Prepared Comments of Dr. Kamana’opono Crabbe
Office of Hawaiian Affairs Ka Pouhana and CEO Press Conference of May 12, 2014
Aloha mai kakou,
I called this media conference today to offer additional information about my letter to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, which was sent within my authority under OHA’s governing documents and Hawai’i statutory law.  As with any leader, I am often called upon to make tough decisions, which are sometimes controversial. I continue to believe my decision to send the letter was in the best interest of OHA and the beneficiaries we serve. I stand behind this decision and accept full responsibility for it.
As Ka Pouhana and CEO of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, I must ensure that the policies and commitments of the OHA Board of Trustees are implemented with thorough due diligence and a minimization of risk to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. I take this responsibility seriously. And that was the chief reason for my inquiry with Secretary Kerry.
As stated in the media release sent out this past Friday, I requested that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry seek a legal opinion of the U.S. Attorney General regarding the status of Hawai’i under international law. I also posed additional questions to clarify how the answer to that primary question impacts current efforts to rebuild a Hawaiian nation.
Answers from the U.S. Attorney General are needed for OHA to effectively facilitate a process of rebuilding a Hawaiian nation. We must start with agreed upon facts (or begin identifying points of disagreement that require clarification).  Highly qualified experts have provided their answers to the questions posed. However, it would be irresponsible for OHA to assume that the United States views the situation similarly. The stakes are far too high for OHA to proceed under assumptions.
A second reason for my questions to Secretary Kerry stems from our Hawaiian community. My staff and I have held some 30 community meetings in the past two months regarding our proposed process to rebuild our nation. In that same period we also held two governance summits with key community leaders. At these gatherings, and in other virtual contexts, we heard repeatedly concerns about engaging in a process of rebuilding a nation when-following the research of many legal, historical, and political experts-our nation continues to exist in the context of international law.
Such concerns have led our community to request more time in the nation rebuilding process to have questions– such as I raised with Secretary Kerry– fully explored and shared with our people so that they can make well-informed decisions throughout the process.
The Hawaiian community needed to know that I was inquiring about the very matters they sought to bring forward. And this is the reason I felt it was imperative not only that I ask the questions but that the community be aware of the inquiry.
However, recognizing the gravity of the questions posed, I met with Chair Machado before making the letter public. I explained that my questions were a matter of due diligence and risk management to avoid OHA missteps in its nation rebuilding facilitation. I believed I had her consent to proceed with sharing publicly my letter to Secretary Kerry. Unfortunately, it is now apparent that we walked away from that meeting with a misunderstanding and misinformation.
Despite disagreements that will need to be worked out between myself and OHA’s trustees, I am certain that the Board and I stand firmly together in our commitment to do all that we appropriately can to reestablish a Hawaiian nation. I look forward to engaging with the trustees in the ho’oponopono, which Chair Machado graciously suggested, so that we can work collectively to Ho’oulu Uihui Aloha, to Rebuild a Beloved Nation.
We must succeed in our efforts for the good of our lahui, our community, and our families for generations to come.
A message to politicians – You are not entitled to power. Only to service. Get it, or we will get rid of you!
Kings and Queens have power, the ruling class have power, the government and the corporate machine have power.
There is no longer a place for political or elitist control in a modern and liberal society. It’s over!
It is time for real democracy.
Democracy that means power to the people and the people ONLY!
The entire political class, landed gentry and Monarchy are no longer wanted or needed by the majority of citizens.
The sun is about to set on an age of Empire, Royal lineage and self-appointed, entitled elites.
A new dawn is breaking, and with it, a completely new way of doing things.
At what point have we as a modern nation-state, been given the choice as to whether we wish to continue with the idea, that those who would seek to put themselves in control of our lives, had any level of good judgement at all?
Or that they would hold our best interests at heart?
The Inmates have taken over the asylum and we have let it happen! We blindly agree to things being the way they are because it has ‘been that way for so long’. That’s all that ‘tradition’ and ‘custom’are. Nothing more than an established practice over time, regardless of the changing environment or atmosphere.
Well, I say “So what”?  The current system is too corrupt, outdated and broken. This government, which is meant to serve the people, no longer fulfils and frankly, has never fulfilled that absolute democratic obligation.
Its time to remember that we are the rightful owners of our land.
Not this government, certainly not our ‘beloved’ (German) Royal family and not any Prime Minister or political party.
They are our servants! They are meant to work for us!
Their job is to enact the will of the people; our will. But instead, we have been lulled into accepting their decisions, made ‘on our behalf’, according to their limited and biased judgement.  Decisions about critically important and controversial issues that affect our lives day after day.
We have handed to them, the power to create laws, to take actions that suit their own personal agendas and those of their benefactors or friends.  In the current system, there is nothing we can do to stop them or change their minds.
The biggest lie of all that we  fall for, is that because we get to vote, we therefore have some choice or control over our future.
Wrong! We have no choice or control. We are fed no more than a predetermined set of ‘options’, that fool us into thinking that we have influence over our futures but it is a huge red herring. Ordinary people have no control over their own destiny.
The recent election of Jeremy Corbyn and the ongoing negative reaction from the Parliamentary Labour party, show that no matter what ‘ideology’ we think we support, in the end, we are dealing with the same political class, no matter on which side of the house they sit.
Why do we still need a Parliament at all?
Parliament, and members representing the common people, was all good and well in the 12th century when most of the population had no integrated communication, or any way of getting their voices heard.  Originally, an unofficial assembly that was initially set up by the monarchy as a way to guarantee tax payments as the costs of war grew, in return for the privilege of airing local grievances.  Now, nearly 900 years later, and without an absolute monarchy and no written constitution, we are now stuck with a bunch of pompous bafoons in the Commons and the Lords acting out their ridiculous, anachronistic rituals and traditions.
The theatre of costumes and ridiculous customs, the pantomime of the ‘Queen’s speech’, the banging of sticks on doors, the pomp and ceremony, it’s as bizarre as any secret society or strange cult but we blindly accept this nonsense as dignified and proper. It is not proper at all. It is a grand delusion.
Titles, rituals, unwavering adherence to a creaky old system of governance is being clung to by the old musty aristocracy through the commons and the Lords. Yes, we ‘vote’ for our MP, but really, when it comes to it, members of Parliament, the Lords, and the royal family, Who are these people? Who do they think they are? And  more importantly, why do they take it upon themselves to presume that they are so all-wise and wonderful that we should bend in reverence to their very presence and defer to their opinions and apparent knowledge?
This system is completely of touch with the life of ordinary people . Politicians and the titled peers like it this way and not without reason.
The elite seek power in order to maintain control.
The ruling class are not interested in service to ordinary people as they claim they are. They have never been, and have no intention, of ever doing what is right and good for the rest of us. Why should they? As far as they are concerned, all is as it should be. They have, we have not, and that the way it’s always been and always will be.
So how do they manage to keep this power? How do they maintain this unfair, entitled and unjust control over us? One reason and one reason only – We agree that it is the only way!!
That is it! Nothing more.
The governing class, the landed gentry, the Royal family, all the Lords and Ladies, Earls and viscounts, dukes and duchesses, corporate barons and the mega-rich, all rely on our agreement in order to exist!
If we want to take back our land,  our property,  our resources and our right to self-rule, then we have to show courage and belief that there is an alternative to what we have now and that this alternative will improve all our lives, by giving us real influence and real choice.
We need a new agreement!
‘This country belongs to the PEOPLE who dwell within it!
The people, and only the people, have the right to decide what, when, where and how anything happens, within OUR borders, with OUR resources and in our dealings with the International community!
We no longer need or want ideological ‘leadership’ or entitled and appointed aristocracy. What we do want, is our country run as we see fit, by competent and honourable men and women’.
We are all sick to the teeth and completely exasperated with the infantile arguments and jeering across an ornately decorated hall, as two sides battle each other and even themselves, for their own narrow opinions and ideas. This is not  modern constructive debate. This is not an honest and objective method of establishing the will of the majority of the people, or making thought-out decisions about our country and its future.
We watch Prime Ministers question as we would watch our parents fighting over the kitchen table! It has become an embarrassment.
What we have now is a battle of wills and personal agendas and we know that there has to be a better way.
So, here is the absolute bombshell that, if we can allow a tiny chink in the impenetrable walls of our minds to let it in, can open the way towards a real change in how we create our own destiny. Here it is.
We no longer need Politicians or MPs!  We don’t even need a Parliament!  We now have the technology and inter-connectedness to create a whole new way of running our country!
Instead of MPs, we install and create a new, interactive, multi-level and multi-dimensional system of electronic nomination, selection, healthy, constructive debate and deliberation, voting and monitoring.
I call this new system  DYNAMIC DEMOCRACY.
This means no longer just deciding on those who we wish to represent our community and region every five years, but instead we ourselves, the entire adult nation, regularly and actively, nominate, deliberate, debate and vote on ALL matters of  global, national and local importance.
In essence, our democracy becomes a living, rolling succession of referenda. We become our own representatives – our own Parliament!
More on the actual details of that later. First, there is one very important question to ask.
Why have we never sought an alternative to party politics?
To break out of our current thinking and conditioning, we need to ask ourselves why we have allowed a system that removes us from the decision-making process, to continue for so long?
Fear of the unknown and a sense of futility is what keeps us in line and obedient. I believe that we as a nation, are only apathetic about our democracy because, with such little leverage over what really happens, we have lost hope and we have lost interest.
Many people have just given up thinking about the issues and actually, politicians, the media and big business, are delighted by our indifference and non interest. They want us watching TV and staying concerned with voting not on important issues of the day, but instead, for some sad wannabe in a jungle or on a glitzy stage.  Caught up in trivia, in separation, and in endless consumption. Occupied with meaningless information and dumbed down. Silent and conditioned to accept our lot without complaint.
They want us utterly distracted from the insane destruction of our environment, from Fracking, to destroying Sustainable energy sources.  Distracted from the appalling inequality and suffering of so many ordinary people. Distracted from tax cuts and legal loopholes to huge corporations and the wealthiest few, while cutting and cutting again, every possible public service and system of support for the most vulnerable.
And of course they want us fearing and hating each other, because divided we are weak and united we are strong. So we are fed with stories of imminent danger, perpetual war and anxiety about our neighbours and community, so that weapons can be made, sold to brutal regimes and used in distant lands to mutilate and kill human beings, who’s screams and suffering we will never hear.  All in our name and without our consent!
This  engineered fear and the illusion of an impenetrable, complex, political system, is all designed to intimidate and confuse us. To keep us overwhelmed and believing that a proactive and inclusive system of self governance is much too much for us mere mortals to handle, without the divine governance of the chosen and enlightened few.
So we need to break out of this belief, this framework of thinking, this engineered and maintained paradigm of complexity and difficulty that makes our political class appear so qualified and venerable.
I have a basic belief around many of those who seek a political career.  It is this – those who seek political office should always be treated with caution and skepticism. I would in fact, go so far as to say that anyone worthy of office should have to be persuaded, if not dragged, kicking and screaming into a position of leadership. We want to have ministers or department heads that are there because we want them there. Regardless of what party they belong to or even if they ever belong to a party at all. We want them there because firstly, we think they would be the most qualified person in the country available for the post.  Secondly, because we believe they will serve the public, not their own personal agendas. And lastly, because we trust them as people, as thoughtful, considered and mature individuals, that care about us and about our future as a nation.
It’s not about starting a completely new civil administration.  This is much more do-able than that.
I am not in any way advocating Anarchism or no system of governance. No, while in transition, we must have rule of law and we must have a working civil society. We will always need a civil service, welfare and education systems, defence, NHS and also of course, a justice system and protection of citizens, as well as a method of contribution and taxation that will fund the running of our country.
So we would keep Ministries, Committees and Departments as they exist presently and build and adjust their role and membership as change  becomes apparent through a truly democratic process.
In short, we can keep everything that involves administration initially intact but, when it comes to who we choose to run those departments, what policy and decisions are taken,  that will be up to us to decide, to monitor and to change. we no longer need the old worn out parliamentary and ideological party system that has been hijacked since its inception, to fulfil the needs of the few at the expense of the many.
So now, in the very spirit of this new agreement, I would like to lay out, in the most basic of terms, a way that this system could work, in the hope that those who read this, will examine it as an idea both critically and with an open mind. This is a beginning, a first draft, a point of reference from which to build a coherent, viable and just alternative, that can support us all as citizens, into becoming an inspired and dynamic democratic community!
All feedback to this idea is appreciated, all comments will be approved both for and against. Lets bash this out and forge a blade that can cut away the rot of a defunct system and create a future with hope, justice and vision!
We face a simple choice. Remain uninvolved, apathetic, too busy or stressed to bother and allow the destruction of our state and society or, choose to get involved, fully involved and put in the effort and time that it would take to create a future that brings prosperity and well-being to us all. This is our country, our nation!  It needs us now, to save it from the insane destruction underway. We cannot let her down. The time for complaining and protesting is over. Now is the time for action.
“If it is an unjust law you would abolish, that law was written with your own hand upon your own forehead. You cannot erase it by burning your law books nor by washing the foreheads of your judges, though you pour the sea upon them.
And if it is a despot you would dethrone, see first that his throne erected within you is destroyed.
For how can a tyrant rule the free and the proud, but for a tyranny in their own freedom and a shame in their own pride?
And if it is a care you would cast off, that care has been chosen by you rather than imposed upon you.
And if it is a fear you would dispel, the seat of that fear is in your heart and not in the hand of the feared”.
Kahlil Gibran (The Prophet)
DYNAMIC DEMOCRACY
Phase One – Returning power to the people.
The only way that this new system can be implemented is by initially creating a new political party with the new  ‘Dynamic Democracy’ paradigm as its core value and mission. This, alongside the agenda set out below, would form the party’s manifesto. A promise of real influence, real choice, created for the people, by the people and of the people.  Once the party is elected to government, it would immediately initiate Phase Two with a view to permanently dissolve Parliament and the Lords and along with it, The majority of the apparatus of the Monarchy and land claimed by the aristocracy, returning the ownership of all crown land, crown property, rights on water, air, food cultivation, energy generation and resources to the people. The dissolution of all political parties, including Dynamic democracy as a party itself,  over an 18-24  month period of transition.
Phase Two –  Create and test the technological systems.
To run concurrently with phase  One,  This involves funding, designing, research, installation and testing of the information and technology infrastructure required, to facilitate the process of  transition to a self-determining system of governance. A fully electronic nominating, debating and voting system, based in on-line websites, easy to use and understand by ALL members of the community both old and young.  The system would have to prove itself to be transparent, totally secure and encoded, to ensure accurate and honest results. Once the system is functioning and well-tested, then we would move on to Phase Three.
Phase Three –  A 3 month-long stage of  nomination, deliberation, voting for and appointment of all new heads of national departments and ministries. This would include choosing of the leading teams and members of local councils assemblies and committees. These individuals will be nominated by the public regardless of their ‘political’ persuasions, or their involvement in politics at all! They will simply be the person of most merit and qualifications for the post in the eyes of the majority. Both Nationally and Locally as appropriate.
Phase Four –  An 18 month-long initial intensive stage, involving monthly multiple referenda including presentations from all departments on future policy, approach, intention and budgets. Options and alternatives to then be debated, deliberated and voted on. In essence a national parliament with a one person one vote on all matters of importance and governance. This Phase would also involve the forming of a written constitution and the re-naming of our country with a title more suited to a modern democratic nation.
Phase Five –  The final  stage involving ongoing, quarterly, multiple referenda, on new issues arising in all areas. Monitoring and reports on progress of all departmental policies and initiatives underway. Adjusting policy as new circumstances arise and opportunity to recall and vote out existing heads and members based on performance, progress and behaviour.
In the initial phases, I estimate it would require up to 3 hours per week of all of our time and effort to get involved in nominating, debating and voting. Once the new system is in place at phase Five, that would reduce to about 3 hours per month.
“Now Is The Time To Stand Up”: Armed Activists, Militiamen Seize Federal Wildlife Refuge Office In Oregon ~ ZeroHedge
Tyler Durden's picture
On Saturday, militants seized a remote government outpost following a protest by hundreds of angry citizens.
That could very easily be the opening line for a story about a Mid-East country beset by civil war. Instead, it’s a description of what happened in Oregon yesterday.
It all started back in 2001 when Dwight Hammond and his son Steven set fire to leased government land in what they said was an effort to beat back invasive plant species and – ironically – prevent wildfires. They set more fires in 2006 and were later convicted of arson.
(the elder Hammond)
Both men served time in prison but a judge eventually determined that their sentences were too light and ordered them back to jail.
Some folks were displeased with the ruling and staged a protest that saw some 300 people march through Burns, a city of around 3,000. The procession made a stop by the Hammond residence and proceeded to make an appearance at the local sheriff’s office as well.
“As marchers reached the courthouse, they tossed hundreds of pennies at the locked door. Their message: civilians were buying back their government,” AP recounts. “A few blocks away, Hammond and his wife, Susan, greeted marchers, who planted flower bouquets in the snow [after which they] sang some songs, Hammond said a few words, and the protesters marched back to their cars.”
Enter Ammon Bundy.
Ammon is the son of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy who famously clashed with the government last year after his cattle were kidnapped by the Feds. Around 400 of Cliven’s cows were busy grazing on land Bundy said he owned when the Bureau of Land Managment began to round them up and ship them off to a bovine internment camp at Bunkerville.
The government says the cattle were grazing on public rangeland, which is legal as long as the owner pays a fee. Bundy allegedly racked up some $1 million in such fees and so, the government decided to seize the cows, which the Nevada Bureau of Land Management accused of “trespassing.”
Evenutally, the cavalry arrived (literally) as cowboys rode in and broke the cows out of jail. No, really.
Fast forward to November and Bundy’s son Ammon was busy trying to come up with a way to keep Dwight Hammond and his son from going back to jail. “Ammon Bundy met with Dwight Hammond and his wife in November, seeking a way to keep the elderly rancher from having to surrender for prison,” The Oregonian writes, adding that “the Hammonds professed through their attorneys that they had no interest in ignoring the order to report for prison.”
But while the Hammonds have apparently come to terms with their fate, Bundy hasn’t and in a brazen move, he and an unspecified number of “outside militants” seized control of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge headquarters, which is a short drive from Burns (where the protest took place).
The federal outpost fell to the militants without a fight presumably because it was deserted for the holidays. Here’s more from the Oregonian:
“The facility has been the tool to do all the tyranny that has been placed upon the Hammonds,” Ammon Bundy said.
“We’re planning on staying here for years, absolutely,” he added. “This is not a decision we’ve made at the last minute.”
“The best possible outcome is that the ranchers that have been kicked out of the area, then they will come back and reclaim their land, and the wildlife refuge will be shut down forever and the federal government will relinquish such control,” he said. “What we’re doing is not rebellious. What we’re doing is in accordance with the Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land.”
After the peaceful rally was completed today, a group of outside militants drove to the Malheur Wildlife Refuge, where they seized and occupied the refuge headquarters. A collective effort from multiple agencies is currently working on a solution. For the time being please stay away from that area. More information will be provided as it becomes available. Please maintain a peaceful and united front and allow us to work through this situation,” Harney County Sheriff Dave Ward said, in a statement. The elder Bundy weighed in as well, noting that the occuption isn’t “exactly what [he] thought should happen.” “But I didn’t know what to do,” he added. “You know, if the Hammonds wouldn’t stand, if the sheriff didn’t stand, then, you know, the people had to do something. And I guess this is what they did decide to do. I wasn’t in on that.”
Ammon Bundy explained the rationale for the occupation as follows:
Got that? This wildlife refuge office will become “a base place where patriots from all over the country will live and be housed.” Although from the looks of it, space is limited so reserve your spots now:
The Guardian apparently stopped by the refuge for a visit:
The occupation appears to have begun at about 2pm. Two hours later, the Guardian approached the refuge, which lies about 60 miles south of the town of Burns and is only accessible via a lakeside road slick with ice and banked with snow.
There were no law enforcement agents visible in the area around the refuge. A man with a goatee beard and wraparound sunglasses stood guard, armed with an AR-15-style rifle, and refused entry to the federally owned facility.
He declined to give his name or affiliation, citing “operational security”. He did confirm, however, that the men – several of whom were openly carrying assault weapons – would be camping on the site. “This public land belongs to ‘we the people’,” he said. “We’ll be here enjoying the snow and the scenery.”
The Guardian was allowed to take a few photographs, and then it was strongly advised to leave the scene. Within hours, police had descended on the remote corner of Harney county, blocking roads and urging members of the public to stay away.
Ammon Bundy, whose father became a folk hero among rightwing constitutionalists after his previous confrontation with federal authorities in Nevada, appeared to be a key figure.
He called for other likeminded US citizens to travel to the refuge in solidarity and to support what he said would be a symbolic showdown between impoverished farmers and overzealous federal authorities.
“We’re out here because the people have been abused long enough,” he said in a video interview posted on his Facebook page on Saturday night.
It isn’t entirely clear how these “patriots” plan to last “years” in the small building without supplies but that’s probably irrelevant because it’s difficult to imagine the oppressors in Washington will let this go on for very long. On that note, we’ll close with two quotes, one from The Oregonian and one from US Army veteran Ryan Payne who is among the occupiers.
From The Oregonian: “In phone interviews from inside the occupied building Saturday night, Ammon Bundy and his brother, Ryan Bundy, said they are not looking to hurt anyone. But they would not rule out violence if police tried to remove them, they said.”
From Payne: “When local and federal authorities arrive whatever else is going to happen will happen”.
Ho‘okahi ka umauma, Ho‘okahi pu‘uwai together we rise – Gathering at 7 am tomorrow morning at Hale Pōhaku. As we prepare to make our way up to the Mauna tomorrow to chant and sing while the machinery that has been sitting at proposed TMT site leaves, I reflect on the journey that brought us to this moment. The power in aligning with the kapu aloha has manifested in boundless blessings and it has been the Mauna that has guided us this far. When I think of the mountain, I think of profound grace, humble wisdom, and unwavering compassion. These are the virtues I carry in my heart especially on a day like tomorrow. It is a gentle reminder to remain in a place of gratitude for the incredible blessings that have come forth, to remain in a place of humility as we witness the manifestation of these blessings, and to remain in a place of compassion for all people and all beings. May we stand like mountain and forward on with all of our strength, all of our courage, and all of our love. Eō Wākea. ‪#‎protectmaunakea‬ ‪#‎wearemaunakea‬ ‪#‎kukiaimauna‬
First They Jailed the Bankers, Now Every Icelander to Get Paid in Bank Sale
2015-10-30 20:42
From: theantimedia.org
First, Iceland jailed its crooked bankers for their direct involvement in the financial crisis of 2008. Now, every Icelander will receive a payout for the sale of one of its three largest banks, Íslandsbanki.
If Finance Minister Bjarni Benediktsson has his way — and he likely will — Icelanders will be paid kr 30,000 after the government takes over ownership of the bank. Íslandsbanki would be second of the three largest banks under State proprietorship.
“I am saying that the government take [sic] some decided portion, 5%, and simply hand it over to the people of this country,” he stated.
Because Icelanders took control of their government, they effectively own the banks. Benediktsson believes this will bring foreign capital into the country and ultimately fuel the economy — which, incidentally, remains the only European nation to recover fully from the 2008 crisis. Iceland even managed to pay its outstanding debt to the IMF in full — in advance of the due date.
Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, Budget Committee vice chairperson, explained the move would facilitate the lifting of capital controls, though he wasn’t convinced State ownership would be the ideal solution. Former Finance Minister Steingrímur J. Sigfússon sided with Þórðarson, telling a radio show, “we shouldn’t lose the banks to the hands of fools” and that Iceland would benefit from a shift in focus to separate “commercial banking from investment banking.”
Plans haven’t yet been firmly set for when the takeover and subsequent payments to every person in the country will occur, but Iceland’s revolutionary approach to dealing with the international financial meltdown of 2008 certainly deserves every bit of the attention it’s garnered.
Iceland recently jailed its 26th banker — with 74 years of prison time amongst them — for causing the financial chaos. Meanwhile, U.S. banking criminals were rewarded for their fraud and market manipulation with an enormous bailout at the taxpayer’s expense.
In 4 Days, 100 Volunteers Used Mud and Reeds To Build This Community Center in Mexico
  • The educational context provided by the self-build workshops taking place and its relationship with the use of sustainable materials; this encouraged the choice of bahareque as the construction method, which consists of interlaced reed frames plastered with a mixture of straw and clay from the site.
  • The limited budget, the urgency of completion and the participation of volunteers in its construction; this condition was taken as an opportunity to reinforce the relationship between the architecture and the community, planning its versatility and allowing its complete appropriation by the users.
  • The site’s great weather and wonderful natural environment; which permitted the development of an open building.
    The pavilion has two dormitory wings with bathrooms and services for 20 people (currently adapted for 33, not counting the option to sleep on the floor on straw mats), as well as a large double-height common area with panoramic views that can be used as a reunion hall or as an elevated stage for open field events.
    This space is connected through a sole corridor to the dormitories, creating the feeling of “dormir en bola” – a Spanish term that refers to sleeping and staying together as a crowd and in the comfort of friendship. A dirt patio with access to the upper deck provides an elevated viewpoint (also suitable for a meeting and camping area).
    The project is structured around three concrete platforms and columns that intercept the topography and allow the building to be accessed from every side. Modular wooden frames are placed in between the columns to form the bahareque walls, and the doors and windows are made of woven palm leafs.
    To avoid heat loss and to protect the building from the strong wind, the perimeter is covered with a lattice wall made of interlaced reed, which also hides the foreign presence of the concrete and brings back local identity. Stairways and details in the traditional orange “Lama” brick please the local eye and blend in with the earthen color palette.
    The construction process was planned so that it could be carried out in two phases; each one to be concluded in a two-day period by 100 volunteers. The concrete platforms and columns, wiring, plumbing and technical elements were finished prior to the two phases, leaving a bare structure ready for the walls and fixtures to be implemented by volunteers.
    Close to the date of completion, wooden frames with the woven palm leafs and interlaced reef panels were prepared, along with the straw and clay for the mixture.
    Having a large number of participants in a relatively small space demanded a great effort from the project coordinators to organize the working groups: panel fitting, hand plastering walls, preparation and transportation of the mixture, windows and door fitting, stonework… and of course, preparing food for everybody.
    The process ended up being a big success. In two days and on two occasions, the collective activity left everyone feeling satisfied and with a very meaningful personal experience. To close the event, a time capsule with the signatures of the participants was buried.
    The building stands true to its purpose and is integrated into its surroundings, thanks to the honest use of materials, which create a smooth transition between the exterior and interior spaces.
    “The Barricades Are Down” Syriza Is Already Rolling Back Austerity “Reforms”
    Tyler Durden's picture
    It didn’t take long for Syriza to start making changes in Greece. While these may be minor at the margin compared to the debt “issues”, as KeepTalkingGreece reports, Alexis Tsipras and his junior coalition partner Panos Kammenos pushed the Fast Forward button to restore a series of so-called “reforms”, that is austerity measures imposed by the country’s lenders, the Troika – among the left-wing reforms are: scrapping planned privatizations, scrapping fees in public hospitals and prescriptions, restore “the 13th pension” for low-pensioners and other actions that SYRIZA had promised before the elections. And the iron barricades in front of Parliament have been removed.
    Via Keep Talking Greece,
    Iron Barricades
    The first revolutionary move was conducted by alternate Minister responsible for Citizens’ Protection and Public Order. Yiannis Panousis removed the iron barricades in front of the Greek Parliament. The barricades were installed to protect the lawmakers from angry demonstrators after the huge anti-austerity protests from 2010 onwards.
    Before
    After
    Panousis, who is Professor for Constitutional Law, made the announcement Wednesday morning. Right after the first meeting of the new cabinet concluded, the barricades were removed.
    Health sector
    Alternate minister Andreas Xanthos announced the “targeted enhancement of the health sector”, scrapping the 5-euro fee at public hospitals and the 1-euro fee per prescription as well as reductions in the patients’ economic participation on drugs.
    The unprecedented financial burden imposed on patients had quite some people stop taking their medication or seek charity organizations for life-saving drugs. KTG has reported many times about the plight in the Greek health sector.
    Pensions
    Alternate Minister for Social Funds, Dimitris Stratoulis announced a stop in pension cuts and to restore the “13th pension” for pensioners receiving below €700 per month. He also said that “uninsured farmers will receive again the €360 per month.
    Minimum Wage
    Minister for Labor and Social Solidarity, Panos Skourletis, announced that the minimum wage will be raised to €751 gross, while the collective bargains will be restored.
    Under Troika pressure in the name of so-called “competitiveness”, the minimum wage plunged down to €580 gross and €490 gross for those below 25 years old in 2012 with the effect that households could not even cover their monthly basic needs.
    Rehiring in Public sector
    Alternate Minister for Administrative Reform Giorgos Katrougalos announced the re-hiring of those who were laid-off from the public sector in the scheme of “mobility”. According to Katrougalos, the lay-offs were against the Constitution.
    School guards, cleaners and teachers were laid-off in masses, after the Greek government decided to fire over night some 10,000 people in order to meet Troika’s demands for a lean public administration. The lay-offs were not according to meritocracy criteria, the measure affected whole groups of employees.
    Greek nationality to migrants’ children
    Alternate Minister for Migration policy Tasia Christodoulopoulou announced that migrants’ children born and raised in Greece will be granted Greek nationality, probably also children that came here in very young age.
    Taking into consideration the SYRIZA program as announced by Alexis Tsipras on January 2oth in Thessaloniki, more anti-austerity changes are on the note book of the new government. So far all ministers made their announcements in television programs. The official announcements are expected next week in the Greek Parliament when the coalition will seek vote of confidence.
    So far we heard no ministerial announcement on TV regarding the painful issue of over-taxation.
