PART 1: The echo chamber effect is at an all time high as the new world media conglomerate pushes back against those who are waking up. The echo chamber effect is the relentless “propping up” of your own beliefs with the goal to perpetually disunite the masses and prevent us from seeing the powers that be behind the curtain.
It is no coincidence that the corptocracy pushes world culture towards its own ends. In furtherance of its agenda of total control – we now live in a time where propaganda of US citizens is legal – what news is real?
So many events have serious questions surrounding them – from mass shootings to pizzagate – how can we place faith in the corproratocracy’s cultural media machine?
PART2: The 25 Goals of the Illuminati refer to the construction of the one world government and the subjudication of the global citizenry through corruption, immorality, and total control. We know the unholy alliance between the government and the world’s largest financial institutions have created the corptocracy – is there an even darker agenda than just global control?
The evidence of depopulation, the control of the media, and the abuse of youth by the elite – is the fake news phenomena a counter attack to the recent investigations into the global social control paradigm and the evil its leaders do?

During a lively discussion centered on fears that President Trump is “trying to undermine the media,” MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski let slip the awesome unspoken truth that the media’s “job” is to “actually control exactly what people think.”
SCARBOROUGH: “Exactly. That is exactly what I hear. What Yamiche said is what I hear from all the Trump supporters that I talk to who were Trump voters and are still Trump supporters. They go, ‘Yeah you guys are going crazy. He’s doing — what are you so surprised about? He is doing exactly what he said he is going to do.'”
BRZEZINSKI: “Well, I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job.”
As grabien points out, the comment failed to raise any eyebrows from her co-panelists. Instead, her co-host, Joe Scarborough, said that Trump’s media antagonism puts him on par with Mussolini and Lenin…
The CIA are expanding an existing program that influences mainstream media outlets to promote fake propaganda stories, by having agents troll internet forums, social media, and website comment sections – in an effort to disrupt alternative media sites.
In an expansion of Operation Mockingbird, the agency are now creating fake user accounts on various internet forums and social media channels, arguing politics with real users in an attempt to stifle and subvert genuine communications between users.
According to RT news, agents have up to “10 fake shill accounts” used to troll and create the illusion of having a genuine network of friends.
“They will defend current administration decisions with relentless irrational stubbornness that one can only be paid to do.”
Are you chatting with a CIA Agent on-line? It’s possible you may already have.
Abby Martin, from RT’s “Breaking the Set,” reported on an up to date Operation Mockingbird with the sole purpose of misleading the public on-line.
In the congressional hearing from 1976 (below) listen to how many agents are in the media to write false stories.
According to the Congress report published in 1976:
“The CIA currently maintains a network of several hundred foreign individuals around the world who provide intelligence for the CIA and at times attempt to influence opinion through the use of covert propaganda. These individuals provide the CIA with direct access to a large number of newspapers and periodicals, scores of press services and news agencies, radio and television stations, commercial book publishers, and other foreign media outlets.”
By the year 1953 Operation Mockingbird dictated information in over 25 newspapers and wire agencies. These organizations were run by people with well-known right-wing views such as William Paley (CBS), Henry Luce (Time and Life Magazine), Arthur Hays Sulzberger (New York Times), Alfred Friendly (managing editor of the Washington Post), Jerry O’Leary (Washington Star), Hal Hendrix (Miami News), Barry Bingham, Sr., (Louisville Courier-Journal), James Copley (Copley News Services) and Joseph Harrison (Christian Science Monitor).
Even Rolling Stone claimed that journalist Joseph Alsop was under the control of Operation Mockingbird in 1977.
His articles appeared in over 300 different newspapers. Other journalists alleged by Rolling Stone Magazine to have been willing to promote the views of the CIA included Stewart Alsop (New York Herald Tribune), Ben Bradlee (Newsweek), James Reston (New York Times), Charles Douglas Jackson (Time Magazine), Walter Pincus (Washington Post), William C. Baggs (The Miami News), Herb Gold (The Miami News) and Charles Bartlett (Chattanooga Times).
According to Nina Burleigh (A Very Private Woman), these journalists sometimes wrote articles that were commissioned by Frank Wisner, creator of the program.
The CIA also provided them with classified information to help them with their work.

Vancouver, BC – In an exclusive interview broadcast live over YouTube on February 8, 2015, Citizen Hearing on Disclosure co-author Alfred Lambremont Webre, JD, MEd, responded to comments from CHD funder Tom Clearwater regarding the DisclosureGate report released by NewsInsideOut.com. The report offered whistleblower testimony and evidence of an insider witness to fraudulent actions and a cover-up surrounding the failed Disclosure Petition VII hosted on the White House website. In an official response Tom Clearwater indicated his lack of surprise concerning anomalies surfaced through the report while errantly citing “patterns in Mr. Webre’s life” as key to understanding its origins.
During the interview, former Citizen Hearing on Disclosure board member Alfred Lambremont Webre, JD, MEd, clearly illuminated the deep origins of DisclosureGate as emerging from within the U.S. military-industrial-governmental complex and its New World Order overseers, citing both Stephen Bassett and Tom Clearwater as “handymen” in the cover-up of a secret Mars Colony Corporation-based NWO depopulation agenda. Their works reportedly included bribing former members of Congress who heard testimony at the Hearing to silence discourse concerning U.S. activities on Mars and the role there of former U.S. Vice President Richard B. Cheney.
Tom Clearwater’s official response is appended to the original DisclosureGate report. The following is a transcript of Alfred Lambremont Webre, JD, MEd’s response to Tom Clearwater and the DisclosureGate report recorded live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It has been edited for clarity.
“As I understand it, Tom Clearwater, who’s a Vancouver lawyer and philanthropist, who we have actually interviewed (because he’s a very forward-looking mind and innovator), has now issued a statement in which he goes into denial around the irregularities that have come up around the Citizen Hearings Petition, which were the result of a whistleblower coming forth from the Citizen Hearing and approaching NewsInsideOut as a news outlet.
“Mr. Clearwater unfortunately made this an ad hominem about Alfred Webre, who had nothing to do with this, basically. I thought that I would come on the air and make several things very, very clear, because here you have substantial monies; one million dollars. I know for a fact that Mr. Clearwater’s family is outraged at him for having spent his inheritance and their family money on Mr. Bassett’s Citizen Hearing on Disclosure. I would be outraged also because I’m outraged at Mr. Bassett and I so notified Mr. Clearwater.
“Let me give some background. One of my jobs in the 1970s and early eighties was that I was a consultant to the Ford Foundation and its public interest environmental law program. I had to evaluate their programs when they funded the Environmental Defense Fund and the NRDC [Natural Resources Defense Council]. I’m well familiar with the protocols that go into looking at funding proposals. It is highly irregular to look at a funding proposal and to cut out the principals that had developed that funding proposal over time.
“I was a co-founder of the Citizen Hearing along with Mr. Bassett going back to 2005, 2006, 2007 and my name was up on the Internet as a member of the board on the public website. There was a very important reason for that. It wasn’t just Alfred Webre as a person. It was because I represented a whole line of research which had to do with the extraterrestrials on our nearest planet, that has to do with Mars. Now I know of at least eight whistleblowers from top secret U.S. programs on Mars that have come forward.
“This includes Lieutenant Commander Andrew D. Basiago, U.S. Marine Corps Captain Randy Cramer, Special Section and others who have shown that the U.S. has a presence on Mars, probably since the 1960s. We’re already 60 years into the presence there. Randy Cramer has been part of the Mars Defense Force. He spent 17 years in the Polar Regions with the U.S. Marines on peacekeeping and combat missions with the Martian reptilian and the Martian insectoid (mantid) civilizations and knows all about the Mars Colony Corporation.
“In fact, the Mars Colony Corporation contracted with the U.S. Marine Corps and the Mars Defense Force to provide these peacekeeping arrangements for the Mars Colony Corporation. The person who was in charge of the Mars Colony Corporation all these years was one Richard B. Cheney. That’s of extreme importance to the U.S. Congress, to the U.S. Executive, to the public at large and to the news media. Yet when the one million dollars was supposed to be given by attorney, let me emphasize that, attorney Tom Clearwater (and he emphasizes to me that he was at the top of his class). He should know this. It’s called due diligence. An attorney is under a double diligence to give and to ensure that all of the parties in a proposal are represented and that there is no fraud and negligence, which occurred here.
“I’d go beyond negligence. I’d go to fraud because it’s the U.S. Congress that has been defrauded, it’s the public that has been defrauded because the three trillion dollar U.S. program on Mars with Martian extraterrestrials, including the reptilian civilization, the mantid civilization and the Martian human civilization have been kept out of the public record by the nefarious, unlawful (under fiscal law), under breach of trust actions of Stephen Bassett and Tom Clearwater, Attorney at Law.
“Yes, I wish to speak up. I’m providing a total of six articles that go into the evidence behind this. I provided it at the time.
“What Mr. Bassett did was unconscionable. Out of the million dollars Mr. Bassett gave twenty thousand dollar bribes to each of the former congressmen who were there to keep quiet about life on Mars. I contacted each of the former senators and representatives directly on that.
“One of them, the former senator from Alaska had been a former correspondent along with me with PressTV. We had been on panels together and I told him, “You are being defrauded. You’re accepting twenty thousand dollars and you’re withholding the truth about the three trillion dollar U.S. program on Mars, about the extraterrestrials: the mantids, reptilians, the humans, the dramatic exopolitical drama that’s being placed on Mars.” The human Mars Colony Corporation headed up by Dick Cheney that has set up a secret gene pool to allegedly populate the Earth after the New World Order supposedly eliminates or depopulates the current what they call “surface dwellers.” Henry Kissinger has the word “useless eaters” for the surface dwellers.
“That is what Steve Bassett and Tom Clearwater did. They were doing the handiwork of a New World Order cover-up. Fortunately, as they say, they broke themselves against the law again.
“Now whether or not the public will listen to this broadcast and will listen to these facts now that they have broken the law with regard to petitions that are on the White House website, we will see. Mr. Bassett has shown himself to be completely lawless in the past. We will see whether he continues to be completely lawless and continues to cover up the U.S. mission on Mars and all of the extraterrestrial civilizations on Mars for his own convenience.
“Who knows what sort of payoffs Stephen Bassett has gotten for this. And who knows what payoff Tom Clearwater, who is saying, to try and involve me in the cover-up that he used a million dollars of his family’s money, who are now vehemently objecting to his use of that money, for a cover-up.”

Note I’m with Ann and will be heading to the beach to spend the day in ceremony, integrating the cosmic energy permeating the planet from solar flares, the lunar eclispse, Mercury stationing direct and four planets in ) 0 degree Scorpio…whew, what a ride we’re on moving thru turbulent energy’s! Stay buckled in tight folks…I’m thinkin’ now might be a good time to put down the popcorn, the rides about to begin! Aloha! Annette
I want to thank Laura Bruno, who, in a private communication, echoed a conclusion I had already come to and made me realize it’s time to “put it out there,” here.
Something in me has changed. Decidedly. I’m getting bored with trying to figure out “the truth” in all these ever-changing, weirder and weirder psy-ops —whether it’s Hurricane Sandy or Sandy Hook; Boston Bombing or Drone Bombs Everywhere; what happened to Malaysian Flight 17 or 370; just which “radical” and “moderate” groups are fighting in Ukraine or Syria; and now, of course, the latest, the one that’s being drawn out for all its worth, “Ebola! Eek!” Somehow the two words, Ebola and Eek, have to go together.
The point is, each of these psy-ops offers increasing confusion as its calling card. Those of us who think we’re ahead of the MSM game try to psych out “what really happened” amidst all the contradictory information, the sliding, spreading, multilayered obfuscation — that drags out just long enough so that whatever else they’re doing with any particular psy-op, they’re both sowing F.E.A.R. (false evidence appearing real) and pride (that we can figure it out, and somehow, in doing so, get a handle on the bastards) — all the while of course, taking our attention from something else that’s really important that they do not want us to know about.
So, I’d say, maybe the principal clue as to whether or not an event, short or drawn out, is a psy-op, is to just ask ourselves: How confusing is it? Why does it keep getting more confusing rather than less? ‘Cuz if that’s what’s going on, then we’re being played for suckers.
I’m done. I will report early stories on any new psy-op, but not get dragged into the ever mutating details and perspectives. I have better things to do. Like, today, this first glorious, mostly sunny day after more than a week of rain and grey skies. I just now mucked out the GANG pond, harvested the reachable lotus plants from this summer and placed them on garden beds. Wish I had taken a “before” picture. Here’s what it looks like now.
From the west:
From the east:
Garden bed with lotus to compost there in place.
Unfortunately, the leaves have yet to fall from the tree above the pond, so there’s one more muck job before winter. (Not to mention lots more harvesting and preserving, of ever-renewing chard, kale, beans, tomatoes, collards, plus carrots, beets and other fall plantings.)
If you’ve been following the photos of the pond through the years, you realize as I do that the pond, which takes rain water off the roofs of both houses, is gradually turning into a wetland. I suppose we could force it not to, drain all the water (somehow move all the fish and frogs to do so), dig underneath the three layers of old carpet and rubber to the roots of lotus and cattails and some bamboo-ish plant that have rooted in there, and fill the pond again. But let’s face it, our beloved pond is evolving, too. “You never step into the same river, twice.” — Heraclitus. Or the same pond!
It’s getting so that within ten minutes of being in the garden, I’ve already surrendered to that vibrant, changing, utterly mysterious living world. So grateful!
People ask what the pond is “for.” “Nothing.” I tell them. It’s useless, like art. The pond, with its critters, harbors the soul of the GANG garden.

David McGowan was born and raised in Torrance, California, just twenty miles south of Laurel Canyon. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in psychology and has, since 1990, run a small business in the greater Los Angeles area. He is also a lifelong music fan who still frequently keeps his radio tuned to classic rock stations. McGowan’s previous books include Programmed to Kill: The Politics of Serial Murder, and Understanding the F-Word: American Fascism and the Politics of Illusion. We’ll discuss his new book Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops & The Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream. We’ll discuss the dark underbelly of the hippie “utopia.” Many think the hippie movement began in San Francisco but it was actually Laurel Canyon, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. Although LA at that time didn’t have a music scene, musicians were mysteriously drawn to LA and mysteriously converged in Laurel Canyon. We’ll discuss how Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. Also floating about the periphery were various political operatives, up-and-coming politicians, and intelligence personnel – the same sort of people who just happened to give birth to many of the rock stars populating the canyon. Also integrated into the scene was a guy by the name of Charles Manson, along with his murderous entourage. And all of the canyon’s colorful characters – rock stars, hippies, murderers, and politicos – happily coexisted alongside a covert military installation. We’ll talk about the creation of the “hippie” style, which didn’t appear to happen organically. David also talks about misconceptions surrounding the hippie movement. In the second hour, David talks about groupies, drugs and the CIA in the hippie era. He also talks about music that arose after the hippie movement such as punk and new wave. We’ll hear about the Copeland family, another military intelligence family, who were instrumental behind the scenes.

After reading the book Political Ponerology, A science on the nature of evil adjusted for political purposes by Andrzej Łobaczewski, I wished to interview the author. However, given that he was sick, he was unable to respond to my questions except in the shortest way, a single paragraph. Fortunately, I was able to interview Laura Knight-Jadczyk and Henry See, editors of the book who discussed the questions with him via telephone and were thus able to speak on his behalf.
I think everyone should read this book because it provides the keys necessary for understanding events that we often can’t comprehend. The book describes the origins of “Evil”, its true nature, and illustrates how it spreads throughout society.
Mr. Łobaczewski spent years observing those in power whose actions were the incarnation of evil, people described in psychological terms as anti-social, psychopaths, or sociopaths.
Silvia Cattori: Here is what a Swiss psychiatrist said to me about the book Political Ponerology:
I have never read anywhere else the things Łobaczewski speaks about. No other book has treated the subject in this way. It was immediately useful for me in my work. The things he affirms about perverse/pathological behaviour – in conflicts in business as well as in the political sphere where we see more and more conflicts and more and more people of this type – immediately helped me to better understand, for example, the functioning of these individuals who create conflicts in their work and who, wherever they go, pollute the atmosphere.
Why did he choose a title that is so hermetic, Political Ponerology, for a book that should interest not only psychologists and psychiatrists but everyone?
Laura: First of all, let me say that a very strong emotional bond exists between us and Dr. Łobaczewski and we have communicated with him regarding this interview. He is very elderly and his health has been very poor for the past year or so and he regrets that he is not able to respond personally; he made an attempt, but he is presently not even strong enough to write more than the briefest answers to written questions. Even then, after a few minutes of concentration, he is exhausted and his focus wanders. We very much want to protect his health and well-being, but we also wanted to satisfy the request for responses to important issues. Andrzej pointed out to me on the phone that he has full confidence in our understanding of the subject. He repeated that, as he said when he wrote to us, he was looking for someone who was going in the same direction, thinking the same way, that he could hand his work on to – more or less pass the torch, and of all the work had been passed to him by others. He spent years looking for someone and it was our work that met the criteria.
Having said that, let me try to answer your question: Why did Łobaczewski choose that title? The first thing is that the work was originally a series of documents, technical and academic, originating from various sources. As Łobaczewski explains in his introduction, very little of the work is original to him, he is just the compiler. Academics tend to choose titles for their papers that are phrased in academic terminology, and scientists consider it their prerogative to make up new terms to describe their discoveries, (such as physicists coming up with words like quarks, muons, leptons, and so on), so in that sense, the title is entirely understandable. The term, “ponerology” is an obscure theological term that means the study of evil. Andrzej knew this, and decided to reclaim and rehabilitate this word for scientific use since, as it happens, our science really doesn’t have a word for the study of “evil,” per se. We need one.
Henry: When Łobaczewski sent us the manuscript for his book, we were stunned. We had been preoccupied with the question of why, no matter how much good will there is in the world, there is so much war, suffering and injustice. It doesn’t seem to matter what plan, ideology, religion, or philosophy great minds come up with, nothing seems to improve our lot. And it has been that way for thousands of years, repeating over and over again.
We had also been researching the question of psychopathy for several years, and had published many articles on the subject on our web sites. We had also transcribed an electronic edition for research of the seminal work on psychopathy by Dr. Hervey Cleckley, The Mask of Sanity, with the permission of the copyright holders because it had gone out of print. It is such an important and seminal text that we made it freely available for download. So we had a good grounding in the question and had some inkling that the question of psychopathy and the dire situation we are facing on the planet were related.
Laura: Let me add that the reason we had been researching psychopathy was, as mentioned above, because we had encountered the phenomenon first hand. We were engaged in working with groups of people and the phenomena that Ponerology addresses in terms of groups and how they are corrupted by pathological deviants insinuating themselves into a group under the guise of normality, was very familiar to us on a small social scale. We had observed it and dealt with it time and again, though in the early days, we were just flying by the seat of our pants. We knew that something strange was going on, we just did not have labels and categories for it. We found some of those labels and categories in texts about psychopathology, but it still did not address the social dynamic.
In previous installments (which can be found here, here, and here) I put forth the notion that Latin America has served as a kind of playground for the Cryptocracy. In those installments I mainly focused on the role cults (especially those founded by expat Americans and Europeans) have played in the latter half of the 20th century amongst various Latin American nations. Most notably several of these sects had links to various intelligence agencies with a special emphasis on brainwashing.
In this installment we shall focus on the legacy of UFOs in Latin America, especially Brazil. Latin American UFO sightings and encounters are badly neglected amongst US ufologists and for good reason – they are hard to reconcile with the extraterrestrial hypothesis that dominates the American UFO field. Latin American UFO encounters are even more surreal and mystical and occult connections are even more overt. Let us consider the case of Jose Antonio, a Brazilian soldier in the military police, which I’ve already chronicled in the context of entheogens. Antonio’s abduction experience began ‘typically’ enough with a burst of light hitting him while he was out fishing. Two masked figures in dull aluminium suits seized him a brought him on board a craft that looked like an upright cylinder. It was when Antonio was brought inside the craft that things started to get weird.
“After a period of travel that seemed ‘interminable,’ the machine landed with a jarring sensation, and the little men unfastened Jose Antonio. They put a bandage over the eyeholes in his helmet and carried him with his knees dragging on the ground. He heard footsteps and the sound of many people talking. Finally he was placed on a backless seat and the bandage was removed.
“Jose Antonio found himself in a large quadrangular room, thirty by forty feet, about fifteen feet away from a robust dwarf who stared at him ‘with apparent satisfaction…’
“Other beings of similar appearance began arriving until about fifteen dwarfs were in the room. The soldier assumed there was a door in the back beyond his field of vision. The three walls he could see had no window and no door. To his left was a low shelf with the corpses of four men, one of them a Negro. He thought they had been killed by the homunculi. The whole room seemed to be made of stone, and at one point Jose Antonio was given something to drink out of a cubical stone glass, and the cavity containing a dark green liquid was in the shape of an inverted pyramid…
The leader of the dwarfs began a strange conversation with the soldier. It was conducted entirely through gestures and drawings and revolved around the concept of weapons. (Jose Antonio thinks that they must have perceived that he was in the military and illustrated this by their actions.) At one time, a little man shot a beam of light against the stone wall. The communication seemed to be a request that Jose Antonio help the little beings in their relations with earth. Was he to be their guide among men? This is what Jose Antonio understood. He gestured his refusal and began praying, fingering the rosary he always carried with him.
The leader stepped towards him and, displaying irritation for the first time, seized the crucifix and snatched it from him. One of the beads rolled onto the floor and was picked up by one of the little men, who showed it to the others. The crucifix was passed around in the same way, arousing the curiosity of all of them.
While this discussion took place among the homunculi Jose Antonio had a vision of a Christ-like entity, ‘his eyes clear and serene,’ barefoot and wearing a dark robe. The figure made some revelations to Jose Antonio, who now refuses to disclose them. The apparition vanished, the irritated dwarfs blindfolded him again, and he was transported back. As the machine landed, he felt that he was being dragged and he lost consciousness. He woke up alone near the town of Vitoria in the state of Espirito Santo, two hundred miles away from the spot where he had been fishing. He had been way for four and a half days.
(Dimensions, Jacques Vallee, pgs. 189-190)
Various aspects of Antonio’s abduction experience resemble the initiation rites of various secret societies. This is hardly the only instance in which the occult appears in connection with UFOs in Latin America. Let us consider the curious deaths of Miguel Jose and Manuel Pereira da Cruz, both of whom were electronics technicians. One day in 1966 their bodies were found atop a steep hill across the bay from Rio de Jeneiro dressed in neat suits and new rain coats, laying on their backs.
“The investigators found no blood, no signs of any violence at the site. The two corpses were lying peacefully side by side. Next to them were crude metal masks as well as slips of paper covered with notes. One of these notes contained elementary electrical formulas. Also found was a crushed piece of aluminized blue and white paper, some cellophane soaked in a chemical substance, and a handkerchief with the initials AMS.
“The skin of the corpses had a pinkish color and showed possible burns, but decomposition had progressed to the point where such a finding was not significant. Indeed, the coroner, Astor de Melo, soon concluded that death was by natural causes (cardiac arrest) and closed the file. His examination of the bowels had revealed no poison. The men had died sometime between Tuesday, August 16, and Saturday, August 20…
“Unhappy with the stated cause of death, the man in charge of security for the state of Rio, Col. Eduardo de Cento Pfeil, held a review meeting with police delegate Jose Venancio Bettencourt and an electronics technician. The next day he contacted Toledo Pizza, director of the Coroners Institute. Dr. Alberto Farah was asked to conduct a second autopsy. The viscera were removed and analyzed. The pathologist also looked for possible injection sites in the bodies, but the second autopsy revealed nothing new.
“On the basis of these facts the police examined a number of hypotheses. Could robbery have been a motive for the crime? A large sum of money seemed to have disappeared between the time Miguel and Manuel left Campos with nearly 3 million cruzeiros and the time they were found dead. But this hypothesis did not explain the manner of death and the absence of a struggle.
“Were the men spies? The Morro do Vintem is a strategic spot from which the entire area can be surveyed. More prosaically, it would also be an idea location for a TV repeater, the type of electronic installation in which the two men specialized. The absence of any violence, again, seemed to exclude espionage and foul play.”
(Confrontations, Jacques Vallee, pgs. 6-8)
Even more curious were reports called into the police of a UFO flying above the hill on which the bodies of Manuel and Miguel were found near the time of their deaths as well as the obsession both men had with spiritualism.
“One of the first callers was a society matron, Gracinda Barbosa Couninho de Souza. She told Officer Bettencourt that as she was driving along Alameda Sao Boaventura in Fonseca with three of her children on Wednesday evening, her daughter Denise, then seven, told her to look up in the sky over the Morro do Vintem. She saw an oval object, orange in color, with a line of fire around its edges, ‘sending out rays in all directions,’ while it hovered over the hill. She had time to stop the car and to observe it carefully as it rose and fell vertically for three or four minutes, giving off a well-defined ‘blue ray…’
“This observation was soon confirmed by a large number of witnesses who called police independently to report they had seen an orange-colored, egg-shaped object giving off blue rays over the Morro do Vintem, adding that they had not reported it at the time for fear of ridicule that attaches to UFO cases. All reports placed the object in the vicinity of the victims near the estimated time of death…
“Also interrogated was Manuel Pereira da Cruz’s widow. Her testimony indicated that the two victims were members of s ‘spiritualist’ group, an occult society with unknown objectives. It was rumored that the group attempted to communicate with other planets. A civilian pilot named Elcio Correa das Silva was also a member of the group.
“Elcio disclosed to the investigators that he had, indeed, conducted a number of ‘experiments’ with the two victims, one in Manuel’s garden in Campos, and another time on the beach at Atafona. In that experiment Elcio and another man named Valdir had witnessed a huge blast. This had taken place on June 13, 1966, two months before the tragedy in Neteroi. There was an explosion, a luminous object in the sky, a blinding flash. Local fishermen stated they had seen a flying saucer fall into the sea. The explosion was so powerful that it was heard in Campos. But speculation was dampened when the families of the victims testified at the inquest: the devices used at Atafona and in Campos were only homemade bombs, they said, manufactured with pipes and wires.
“The police started digging deeper into the victims’ backgrounds: they had attended courses in Sao Paulo organized by Philips Electronics and other firms; they had purchased sophisticated equipment, yet they were not thought to be qualified to conduct scientific experiments. There were allegations that the victims maintained an illegal radio station in Glicerio, in the Macae district. And again, witnesses spoke of their interests in the paranormal. A few days before his death, Manuel is supposed to have said that he was going to attend a ‘final test,’ after which he would say whether or not he was a ‘believer.’
“Another curious element in the case was one of the notes found next to the corpses. It read:
Meet at the designated spot at 4:30 P.M. At 6:30 P.M. ingest the capsules. After the effect is produced, protect half of the face with lead masks. Wait for prearranged signal.
“Were the two men expecting to be contacted by a UFO? Or were they, more prosaically, taking part in a spiritualist experiment that went wrong?..
“A group of Brazilian spiritualists claimed to be in contact with Jupiterian beings through psychic channeling. According to these messages, the deaths of the victims were an accident that resulted when ‘they started running forward [toward the saucer that was supposed to pick them up] before they were instructed to do so.’ The channel also disclosed that the Jupiterians were female, one foot taller than the average humans, with vertical mouths and four fingers on their hands. Nobody took the revelations seriously, since there was no evidence the men had died while running…
“…the channeled revelations from Jupiter had explained the specific details of the murder. A lengthy discussion we had at the home of Professor Silvio Lago, a medical doctor who had been called by the court as an expert witness on parapsychology, threw some light on the spiritualist aspects. According to Professor Lago, the victims may have been engaged in a series of seances during which a paranormal entity was supposed to manifest itself. After the experiment in Campos, and again after the explosion on Atafona Beach, Manuel had found powder at the site. He may have suspected that others, possibly including Elcio, had designed a hoax to convince him of the reality of the ‘entity.’ Yet… they were willing to make a third attempt at contact with the entity in question: there must have been a higher-level person who remained in the background and whose instructions they trusted -possibly the person who gave them the orders written on the note.”
(ibid, pgs. 8-12)
Both of these encounters occurred in the framework of the occult. In the case of Jose Antonio his abduction resembles the initiation process used by secret societies such as the Freemasons as do various symbols present within the flying saucer. As for the deaths of Manuel and Miguel, they seem to have been engaged in some kind of magical working leading up to their final hours. In both cases the victims consumed some form of a sacrament. In the case of Antonio, he was given a dark green liquid out of a cubicle stone glass sporting an inverted pyramid. In the mysterious case of Manuel and Miguel, they were told to ingest a mysterious capsule before the presumed working began.
Were these substances entheogens? I speculated as much in the case of Antonio in a prior installment. In the case of Manuel and Miguel I have found no evidence of entheogens, but their deaths occurred in the mid-1960s in Brazil, so possibly something was missed or covered up. Brazil was something of a hot spot for the black opts in the 1960s as we shall discuss in a future installment.
Vallee briefly speculates that Manuel and Miguel were spies before dismissing the notion. I don’t think its as far-fetched, however. In a prior post I’ve chronicled how the US Intelligence community has used cults as guinea pigs in various experiments centered around mind control. In my prior pieces on modern Latin American cults (which can be read here, here and here) we found ample evidence of this. Perhaps Manuel and Miguel were not spies themselves, but assets being manipulated by a handler for some kind of experiment. Jose Antonio was a soldier in Brazil’s elite Guard’s Battalion and would make a fine test subject.
The presence of UFOs and possibly entheogens could point to an intelligence link. Certainly UFOs have been used heavily in PSYOPs (as I’ve chronicled before here, here, here and here) by the US Intelligence community to both cover up the use of experimental aircrafts in addition to manipulating the public. Entheogens, as noted before here, were heavily used in various mind control experiments by the CIA and the like. Both Colonia Dignidad and Jonestown used drugs as tools of behavior modifications, as I noted before here and here. Both institutions may have had ties to various intelligence services as well.
So, perhaps there’s more to the spy angle than Vallee believes. The infamous UFO experience of Antonio Villas Boas may shed further light on the spy angle. First, let us consider a conventional account of Villas Boas’ experience.
“On the night of 15 October 1957, twenty-three-year-old Antonio Villas Boas was out on his tractor plowing a field at his farm in Sao Francisco de Salles, which is in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, near the border with Sao Paulo. At about 1 a.m. he saw a large red ‘star’ approaching. It was similar to a red ball of light that both he and his brother had seen the previous night, and which he chased up and down the field but failed to catch. This second light, however, turned out to be an egg-shaped object so bright that the tractor’s headlights could not be seen. It landed some ten to fifteen meters in front of him, on three metallic legs. Since his tractor would not start, Antonio jumped down and began to run away, but he was grabbed by three figures who dragged him into their machine.

Note: Rupert Murdoch is nothing less than the equivalent of Satan’s minion when you take into consideration the damage his mass media propaganda machines have done to the overall psyche, awareness and intelligence level of the average American is unimaginable. This article’s a typical example of how media disinformation distorts the mind of reader and why reading this mind- TRASH from publications people have come to love and trust is a complete waste of time. Even worse it’s detrimental to your IQ, when 10-20% of the information you read is false, misinterpreted or omits key facts you can’t claim to be well-informed and at that point you’re living a complete illusion.
People like my parents read the Wall Street Journal and feel they’re well informed, but that’s not the case now that News Corp. and Rupert Murdoch are running the show. With this level of yellow journalism going on at the New York Post, then you can bet the Wall Street Journal holds it’s staff to the same lack of journalistic standards and why the majority of Americans are living a fantasy that has nothing to do with the harsh reality most readers of 2012 The Awakening are aware of.
And we keep wondering why people aren’t waking up to problems we’re facing, the following article sums it up rather well.
The New York Post, the New York-based daily newspaper run by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., has published 21 opinion pieces on the controversial process of natural gas extraction called hydraulic fracturing (or ‘fracking’) since January 1, 2011.* Many of the op-eds on fracking attack Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) or “enviro-radicals” for not acting faster to cash in on the economic benefits associated with domestic drilling. In addition, the Post almost always fails to acknowledge the health and environmental risks associated with fracking — when it does, it immediately dismisses the dangers, despite ample evidence to the contrary. For example:
The fact is, fracking has proved not only to be a fundamentally safe undertaking, it has delivered immense economic benefits to localities across America.
New York is the only state in the nation where it is not allowed — and that needs to change.
The fear-mongering nihilism that has marked the debate so far needs to end – and, at the very least, it’s up to Cuomo to accelerate the current review.
Indeed, not only would New York become a major new source of relatively clean energy – natural gas; the move is also sure to spawn a whole new industry for economically sclerotic Upstate, generating thousands of jobs.
That’s what’s happened elsewhere in the country where fracking is allowed – including, notably, neighboring Pennsylvania, where tens of thousands of workers have found jobs at companies that employ the process.
Alas, in New York, enviro-radicals got then-Gov. David Paterson to ban the process, pending further study.
They claim that fracking can taint drinking water. Hyperbolic media reports and films like the pseudo-documentary “Gaslands” further fueled public fears.
Yes, there have been fracking accidents — but no lasting damage, and no harm has been done to water supplies.
Contrary to the Post’s assertions, there have been a host of environmental problems associated with fracking. Wyoming is dealing with both groundwater contamination and air pollution, Ohio and Oklahoma have seen earthquakes potentially associated with fracking, and groundwater contamination has affected wells in Pennsylvania and other areas around fracking wells.
The Post also gets its facts wrong when it comes to states that have banned fracking. In Feburary, New Jersey’s Republican Governor Chris Christie imposed a one-year ban on the practice in New Jersey, stating, “Potential environmental concerns with fracking in our state must be studied and weighed carefully against the potential benefits of increasing access to natural gas in New Jersey.”
As Media Matters has previously noted, in their fervor to promote fracking, the Post has even gone so far as to hide the industry funding of fracking studies in their editorials.
* The Media Matters analysis was conducted by doing a Nexis search for the terms “hydraulic fracturing” or “fracking” and analyzing the number of times one or both of those terms was used in an opinion piece published by the Post.

This is the last significant report Vialls ever did. When I saw this, I knew he would not be around to complete the other parts.
So you think you voted for George Bush or Tony Blair or John Howard on their ‘merits’? Think again. Media mind control techniques have now reached a new standard of excellence in the west. Out go old-fashioned baseball bats and heavy drugs, replaced by ‘low light images’, and a new ‘color coded language’ fired straight down your unsuspecting optic nerve.

When government politicians and officials indulge in high crimes like treason, mass murder and pedophilia, an innocent “patsy” is always put in place to take the blame. As mentioned later in this report, these unfortunate patsies receive far harsher ‘preparation and treatment’ than the subliminal psychotronic brainwashing delivered to you via television screens and video stores. Hollywood tachistoscope control panel
Just about everybody knows, or has heard of, a person who claims to have been ‘mind controlled’ at some point in the past or present. Generally the alleged victim will claim that the CIA/FBI/BATF or other dastardly organization planted one or more radio receivers in his or her head, thereby allowing sadistic government agents to speak directly and always abusively to the trembling victim. Apparently, no victim ever receives a helpful news or weather broadcast on this secure channel, with the ‘implanted receiver(s)’ reserved strictly for sniggering personal abuse, and detailed instructions on how to kill the American President, or perhaps on how to sabotage the whole of Russia and Central Asia with a single box of standard issue hand grenades.
It is impossible to know whether these poor deluded folk really believe they can hear loud abusive voices in their heads, or whether they and their delusions are deliberately and cynically used by government, to deflect away from very real illegal and immoral mind control techniques, which are currently fully operational, and used against approximately 65% of all English-speaking residents in the western world.
This is supposed to be top secret of course, so nowadays if you dare utter the words “mind control” in a public place, chances are you’ll swiftly wind up incarcerated in a secure psychiatric institution, while an insane wide-eyed government shrink frantically pumps hypos full of thorazine into your veins.
Yes, of course the deranged ‘One World Government’ controllers on Wall Street wish to manipulate your thoughts and reasoning, but are dead against you discovering that your thoughts and reasoning are not always your own. A major clue on this objective was provided by Zbigniew Brzezinski, then National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter:
“In the technotronic society the trend would seem to be towards the aggregation of the individual support of millions of uncoordinated citizens, easily within the reach of magnetic and attractive personalities effectively exploiting the latest communications techniques to manipulate emotions and control reason.”
Brzezinski had no intention of ‘implanting’ radio receivers inside the heads of American citizens, because, thankfully, he knew there was absolutely no need to do so. Can you imagine ayone in America, Australia, or Britain meekly submitting to such a bizarre procedure? “Oh sure, Doc, that sounds great! Can you fit them to my wife and kids as well?”
The fledgling ‘One World Government’ already knew that most citizens were hooked on simple television, and simply instructed its propaganda arm called “Hollywood” to get on with the mind control side of things. In virtually no time at all, these doyens of thought reform were flashing subliminal messages at 1/25th second exposures in cinemas and on television.
Though 1/25th second is much too fast for your conscious brain to register, your subconscious sees it very well, meaning that the Hollywood thought reform message completely bypasses your normal conscious content filtering system. So, for example, your conscious perception tells you that George W. Bush is an incompetent idiot, but your subverted Hollywood subconscious undermines this harsh reality, with a subliminally-induced fuzzy and lovable George that you feel ‘compelled’ to vote for.
Initially this work was done with the assistance of a “tachistoscope”, a machine which times the insertion and duration of each subliminal frame, but the crude tachistoscope has one major drawback. Anyone able to gain access to the film or television tapes and play then back at slow speed, would immediately see the inserted subliminal frames as individual entities, and be able to study their subliminal content at leisure.
This actually happened, and there was very nearly hell to pay, but in the end the matter was settled with hard cash and a handful of meaningless laws. For a large consideration and a new Mercedes convertible, the aggrieved scientist who discovered the technique by accident, agreed to a cover story that the tachistoscope was only used for one experimental film run, involving subliminal prompts to buy Coke and popcorn, but was not terrible successful. The Mercedes convertible was involved in a high speed accident and fireball just two months later. There were no survivors.
Hollywood tachistoscope control panel
At the public level, this was the official end of the story, with Congress banning ‘subliminal advertising’ for good measure. You the public were protected from these horrors, or so you thought, while Hollywood frantically worked on improvements and alternate methods of controlling your thoughts and reasoning through the essentially benign television box. It was by now the early ninteen seventies, and the ‘One World Government’ fully intended to have you firmly under subliminal television control in less than a decade.
Covert development proceeded along two parallel but independent tracks, with the first focusing on blending ‘low light images’ into an existing film or commercial. This was fast, and it was also a master stroke in its own right. The ‘low light’ system was ready for trials in less than six months, and the effects were startling.
Essentially, while the conscious mind was viewing and inwardly digesting the main film or commercial content, the subconscious mind was picking up the low light subliminal messages, which fell just below the threshold of normal vision. Where the older tachistoscope was jerky and only partly efficient, the new ‘low light’ system proved to be a control revolution. The low light images were a complete ‘film within a film’ running at normal speed, and thus able to “properly educate” those citizens not entirely in accord with One World Government views.
The critical test was whether or not the ‘low light’ technique could be uncovered if a copy of the film fell into the wrong hands. Exhaustive trials proved that it could not. Despite the most sophisticated ultraviolet analysis known to man, the embedded low light images could not be detected at all, because they were comprised of exactly the same color spectrum as the film itself. So, low light was dramatically effective, relatively cheap to engineer, and easy to transport and use without fear of security breaches.
This low light system is still in use today, and is still dramatically effective, though you need a very highly placed friend in Hollywood if you want the system to benefit your personal political aspirations. One recent applicant was Australian Prime Minister John Howard (“President Winston” to his friends), who felt that his slavish obedience in sending Australian troops to die for America in Afghanistan and Iraq, had earned him the absolute right to be re-elected to office unopposed.
Hollywood and Wall Street agreed, and Australian citizens were then bombarded with thousands of custom low light subliminals of “President Winston” the “Great Leader”, when most Australians knew very well at the conscious level that the man is an an arrogant pompous fool, and a traitor under Australian Federal Law.
The price for electronically fixing the election was high, but a price that President Winston was quite prepared to pay in order to retain his ‘fame’ and ‘popularity’ induced by the covert Hollywood low light images. Precisely when ordered to do so, Prime Minister John Winston Howard paid Hollywood for his false subliminal election victory, by sending more troops into Iraq to face a vastly superior Republican Guard.
Steven Spielberg’s 1977 film “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, which arrogantly showcased the new ‘color-coded language’ to its viewers as ‘fiction’. Remember the old saying, “Tell them the truth and they will never believe you”…
Before radio telephony was invented, electronic communication was restricted to Morse Code, where a unique set of dots and dashes represented each letter in the alphabet. Though to an outsider Morse Code seemed and still seems clumsy, it is really very easy when you get used to it. Like any language, practice makes perfect, and expert signallers read morse so fast that they are able to simultaneously write down the English translation. So, while you as a layman will only hear disjointed dots and dashes, the signaller is hearing “Hi Fred, have you got those new coordinates for me?” in real time.
The equivalent at sea (especially when radio silence had to be maintained) is visual morse code, normally transmitted ship-to-ship with a signal lamp, or exceptionally with flags, where each flag represents a different letter. Alternatively in ‘semaphore’, the position of the flags represents a different letter. However, the Morse signal lamp is the norm, meaning that in the military we have thousands of highly trained men and women who use their audio and visual skills for real time meaningful communication, but without actually using words as the term ‘word’ is understood by the general public.
The Morse Code, flanked on the left by an audio Morse signaller, and on the right by a visual Morse signaller
The critical point to remember about Morse Code and the signallers who use it, is that after a period of learning and conditioning, a string of verbal words and complete concepts are manufactured purely by pulsed electrical input, be that input audio or visual. Nor should we forget the morse signal flags used less frequently by the navy and scouts in the field. In this case, the human brain is simultaneously decoding signals sent in a series of perplexing mixed colors, which are apparently meaningless until you are trained to understand them.
Hollywood was enchanted by the myriad possibilities for controlling public thought and reasoning, and set about devising a top secret program designed to link specific colors to specific tones or words or concepts. For example, in the rather cynical 1977 Spielberg film “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, a simple earthling with a synthesizer, sets about teaching an alien spaceship how to communicate with him, by matching synthesizer tones to the flashing colors on the spaceship itself.
By the time Spielberg made this film in 1977, Hollywood had already been practicing on real live human audiences for four years. Hence my use of the word ‘cynical’, because Spielberg was a significant mover and shaker behind the covert Hollywood control program.
As the years rolled by, an entire new visual language was built up, made even more powerful nowadays by precise digital television transmissions, which provide a wider range of hexidecimal colors for coded use. The problem, of course, is that like the old Enigma Code of WWII vintage, only those with the key know what they are sending, and only they know what impact the specific message will have on the viewing public.
If you want a strong clue to the content, consider the words of insider Zbigniew Brzezinski once again: “In the technotronic society the trend would seem to be towards the aggregation of the individual support of millions of uncoordinated citizens, easily within the reach of magnetic and attractive personalities effectively exploiting the latest communications techniques to manipulate emotions and control reason.”
Now then, ladies and gentlemen, would you say that George W. Bush, Tony Blair and John Howard (Australia) are naturally endowed with “magnetic and attractive personalities”, to the point where they can easily exploit the, “latest communications techniques to manipulate emotions and control reason”? Of course not, for all three men are repulsive and unattractive, and about as close as it is possible to get to borderline mental retardation.
Where Brzezinski and Spielberg have won, and you have lost, lies in their ability to control your thoughts and reasoning with color coded language, to the point where you believe that grey-haired political weaklings are “magnetic and attractive personalities”. Nowadays if Hollywood tells you that black is white, you’d better believe it, or else. For as long as you watch Hollywood’s films and television, their power over you will be continually reinforced, and you will dutifully send son after son and daughter after daughter to die in far off lands on behalf of Wall Street.
You can actually break the cycle and return to your own thoughs and reason, by the simple expedient of destroying your television set, VCR and DVD, but I’m betting you won’t be prepared to make that sacrifice in order to save your children. Unsurprisingly perhaps, Hollywood is betting you won’t do so either.
Do you recognise this fine upstanding young man receiving his Master’s degree from London University? This is Zacarias Moussaoui, just months before Hollywood demonized him as the surviving “911 Terrorist”, and charged him with (1) Conspiracy to Commit Acts of Terrorism Transcending National Boundaries, (2) Conspiracy to Commit Aircraft Piracy, (3) Conspiracy to Destroy Aircraft, (4) Conspiracy to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction, (5) Conspiracy to Murder United States Employees, and (6) Conspiracy to Destroy Property. No hard evidence of any crime because he is innocent of all charges. But, as we shall see in part two, the prison shrinks and their drugs finally convinced Zacarias to plead “guilty”. Do I hear you protest that this could never happen in America, land of the free? Sorry, it just did…
As stated earlier, government-selected ‘patsies’ have rather more than subliminal color coding thrown at them from a television screen. For these men and women (at least those who survive), have to stand up in a court of law and, eventually, make a full confession about a crime they did not commit, or simply mumble “guilty” a few times. Just how this is managed will be explained in part two of this series, probably ready about one month from now.

Love to find examples of media showing it’s true colors, here’s a perfect example that news media is monopolized and is being controlled by at best 3-4 transnational corporations. When all the stations are saying the same thing “verbatim” we’re facing a serious problem when the majority of people spend most of their spare time absorbing TV “programming”.

The Science of Mass Manipulation through Crisis Creation:
An Introduction to the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations
In this video, we take a look at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, which is describe in this video as the nerve center for the global manipulation of human consciousness.
Established in 1921 by the Royal Institute for International Affairs (RIIA), Tavistock has grown into one of the world’s biggest and most influential think tanks, working through governments
Amazing essay exposing the truth behind the incredibly brutal legacy of American imperialism and the lies continually perpetrated by the media about our democracy. Wade has assembled an incredible amount of information at his website AHealedPlanet.net when you have a moment, check it out.
Warning the following contains very disturbing information.
By Wade Frazier
Although I began questioning my indoctrination when I left college, it took brutal experiences with Dennis Lee to “radicalize” me. As far as “radical” goes, that means uncovering the unquestioned assumptions of my society. I eventually realized I had been sold a set of lies. It was not that everybody was in on the joke except me. The lies I discovered are those nearly universally believed. When my accounting professor told me about why auditors make so much money, he believed it. In the wake of the Savings and Loan Scandal, he may have changed his mind, or as the burgeoning Enron scandal has been heating up.
Since 1990, all of my spare time, and five years of full-time work, has been devoted to researching what I was taught, comparing it to my adult research, and creating this web site. What follows is some of what I discovered.
I was lied to, in many ways. The lies I was sold were sometimes different lies than others were sold. Americans growing up in regions dominated by English settlers, such as the Eastern United States, were probably not taught much about Junípero Serra, as I was. They were probably taught about Christopher Columbus and George Washington, however. Although I cannot get my money back, I have discarded much of what I was taught, from kindergarten through my college diploma and beyond.
Soon after graduating from college I began questioning my indoctrination, and eventually realized that my profession was worthless. Just before moving to Ohio, I heard of a new magazine that analyzed the New York Times’ content. It was Lies of Our Times. It was my first exposure to the alternative media. In Los Angeles, before I met Dennis, I subscribed to the Christian Science Monitor, thinking I was getting alternative news. When Dennis was in jail, I had a roommate who talked about Noam Chomsky, and told me Chomsky’s work would be educational. I had never heard of him.
Reading my first issue of Lies of Our Times (LOOT) is a vivid memory. It was the November 1990 issue, which came out as George Bush was whipping America into a frenzy to attack Iraq. I got LOOT until they went out of business in late 1994, but my first issue’s first page is still the one I remember best. That page produced a small article titled “More Translation Problems.” The Bank of Kuwait’s logo accompanied the article. The logo had a camel in its center, and was ringed with Arabic script. Here is the article.
“Back in March (p.19) we ran a letter Nabeel Abraham sent to the New York Times complaining about a mistranslation of the Arabic in the photo caption. Lebanese journalists were shown carrying a sign which actually read ‘Freedom of the press. Yes to the printed word, no to terror.’ The Times said the sign said ‘In Allah’s hands we are safe.’ The letter, of course, was not published by the Times.
“Now they are at it again.
“The first page of the business section on September 12 (p.C1) presented a piece about the Bank of Kuwait. Illustrating it was the logo of the bank, shown below, with this caption: ‘The logotype of the National Bank of Kuwait proclaims, “There is no deity but Allah.”
“Abraham sent off another letter, which reads in part: ‘The logotype says no such thing. The Arabic inscription merely says, “National Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait, 1952.”
“He concluded: ‘These glaring errors leave me wondering how the Times goes about translating Arabic language materials into English. Surely, you did not consult someone who actually reads the language, for those errors are so wide off the mark that they are laughable. I must conclude that either the Times is paying good money for bogus translations, or that the reporters and/or editors are making up the translations as they go along. Either way the “translators” are not drawing on their knowledge of the language, but on their storehouse of racist and demeaning stereotypes which “perceive” religious fatalism, zealotry, fanaticism every time they see an Arabic inscription. In this way the ‘translators’ say more about themselves than about the material they are purportedly translating.’
That opened my eyes. The world’s most influential publication could stoop below the journalistic integrity of the National Enquirer when the need suited them. The New York Times’ effort on “translating” Arabic script, especially as George Bush and company were whipping up a murderous anti-Arab fervor in America, may have made Goebbels beam with approval, if he did not think it a little heavy-handed. Below are the photographs in question.
Soon after that, I subscribed to the Covert Action Information Bulletin, now called Covert Action Quarterly. I subscribed to the Christic Institute’s Journal of Emergence before they were legally raped, similar to how Mr. Big Time Attorney was dealt with by the federal courts in California, but much worse.
I began reading Chomsky’s work. I read Manufacturing Consent and Unreliable Sources. LOOT went out of business in 1994, as all alternative media organizations operate on a shoestring. Challenging the official version of reality does not pay well. Chomsky calls the New York Times a leader in the “agenda setting media,” which means that most mainstream American newspapers follow the Times’ lead in deciding what is newsworthy, and the Times’ reporting also dominates the tenor that other papers give to their reporting. I have subscribed to Z Magazine for many years, and other “alternative” periodicals. I have studied the far right, subscribing to The Spotlight for years, and have read plenty of conspiratorial scholarship. During the past twelve years I studied the media far more than I ever studied accounting or chemistry.
The fact that the media presents a highly slanted view of the world is not the result of one big conspiracy. Media defenders have often stated, “How can all reporters get their orders from the same place?” It is not that simple.
In the first chapter of Manufacturing Consent, Edward Herman (the LOOT editor) and Chomsky present their Propaganda Model and discuss the various “news filters” that determine what news is printed. The first filter is called the “size, ownership, and profit orientation of the mass media.” Because media organizations are profit-making corporations, and are increasingly large corporations that are part of even larger corporate conglomerates, the economic interests of the ownership impacts the news process significantly. The authors show how market forces have driven alternative viewpoints from the media. They present the example of the British working-class media. The government tried wiping them out with punitive laws, but in the end, the sheer market forces of advertising revenues, affluent audiences and economy-of-scale factors drove the working-class press out of business.
In America, there has never been anything resembling a working-class press. The situation today is far less favorable toward establishing a working-class press than it was early in the 20th century. The ultra-rich own the media, and it is nonsensical to think that their interests would not be attended to by the organizations they own.
There is nothing more sacred to the maintenance of democracy than a free press. Access to comprehensive, accurate and quality information is essential to the manifestation of Socratic citizenship – the society characterized by a civically engaged, well-informed and socially invested populace. Thus, to the degree that access to quality information is willfully or unintentionally obstructed, democracy itself is degraded.
It is ironic that in the era of 24-hour cable news networks and “reality” programming, the news-to-fluff ratio and overall veracity of information has declined precipitously. Take the fact Americans now spend on average about 50 hours a week using various forms of media, while at the same time cultural literacy levels hover just above the gutter. Not only does mainstream media now tolerate gross misrepresentations of fact and history by public figures (highlighted most recently by Sarah Palin’s ludicrous depiction of Paul Revere’s ride), but many media actually legitimize these displays. Pause for a moment and ask yourself what it means that the world’s largest, most profitable and most popular news channel passes off as fact every whim, impulse and outrageously incompetent analysis of its so-called reporters. How did we get here? Take the enormous amount of misinformation that is taken for truth by Fox audiences: the belief that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and that he was in on 9/11, the belief that climate change isn’t real and/or man-made, the belief that Barack Obama is Muslim and wasn’t born in the United States, the insistence that all Arabs are Muslim and all Muslims are terrorists, the inexplicable perceptions that immigrants are both too lazy to work and are about to steal your job. All of these claims are demonstrably false, yet Fox News viewers will maintain their veracity with incredible zeal. Why? Is it simply that we have lost our respect for knowledge?
My curiosity about this question compelled me to sit down and document the most oft-used methods by which willful ignorance has been turned into dogma by Fox News and other propagandists disguised as media. The techniques I identify here also help to explain the simultaneously powerful identification the Fox media audience has with the network, as well as their ardent, reflexive defenses of it.
The good news is that the more conscious you are of these techniques, the less likely they are to work on you. The bad news is that those reading this article are probably the least in need in of it.
1. Panic Mongering. This goes one step beyond simple fear mongering. With panic mongering, there is never a break from the fear. The idea is to terrify and terrorize the audience during every waking moment. From Muslims to swine flu to recession to homosexuals to immigrants to the rapture itself, the belief over at Fox seems to be that if your fight-or-flight reflexes aren’t activated, you aren’t alive. This of course raises the question: why terrorize your own audience? Because it is the fastest way to bypasses the rational brain. In other words, when people are afraid, they don’t think rationally. And when they can’t think rationally, they’ll believe anything.
2. Character Assassination/Ad Hominem. Fox does not like to waste time debating the idea. Instead, they prefer a quicker route to dispensing with their opponents: go after the person’s credibility, motives, intelligence, character, or, if necessary, sanity. No category of character assassination is off the table and no offense is beneath them. Fox and like-minded media figures also use ad hominem attacks not just against individuals, but entire categories of people in an effort to discredit the ideas of every person who is seen to fall into that category, e.g. “liberals,” “hippies,” “progressives” etc. This form of argument – if it can be called that – leaves no room for genuine debate over ideas, so by definition, it is undemocratic. Not to mention just plain crass.
3. Projection/Flipping. This one is frustrating for the viewer who is trying to actually follow the argument. It involves taking whatever underhanded tactic you’re using and then accusing your opponent of doing it to you first. We see this frequently in the immigration discussion, where anti-racists are accused of racism, or in the climate change debate, where those who argue for human causes of the phenomenon are accused of not having science or facts on their side. It’s often called upon when the media host finds themselves on the ropes in the debate.
4. Rewriting History. This is another way of saying that propagandists make the facts fit their worldview. The Downing Street Memos on the Iraq war were a classic example of this on a massive scale, but it happens daily and over smaller issues as well. A recent case in point is Palin’s mangling of the Paul Revere ride, which Fox reporters have bent over backward to validate. Why lie about the historical facts, even when they can be demonstrated to be false? Well, because dogmatic minds actually find it easier to reject reality than to update their viewpoints. They will literally rewrite history if it serves their interests. And they’ll often speak with such authority that the casual viewer will be tempted to question what they knew as fact.
5. Scapegoating/Othering. This works best when people feel insecure or scared. It’s technically a form of both fear mongering and diversion, but it is so pervasive that it deserves its own category. The simple idea is that if you can find a group to blame for social or economic problems, you can then go on to a) justify violence/dehumanization of them, and b) subvert responsibility for any harm that may befall them as a result.
6. Conflating Violence With Power and Opposition to Violence With Weakness. This is more of what I’d call a “meta-frame” (a deeply held belief) than a media technique, but it is manifested in the ways news is reported constantly. For example, terms like “show of strength” are often used to describe acts of repression, such as those by the Iranian regime against the protesters in the summer of 2009. There are several concerning consequences of this form of conflation. First, it has the potential to make people feel falsely emboldened by shows of force – it can turn wars into sporting events. Secondly, especially in the context of American politics, displays of violence – whether manifested in war or debates about the Second Amendment – are seen as noble and (in an especially surreal irony) moral. Violence become synonymous with power, patriotism and piety.
7. Bullying. This is a favorite technique of several Fox commentators. That it continues to be employed demonstrates that it seems to have some efficacy. Bullying and yelling works best on people who come to the conversation with a lack of confidence, either in themselves or their grasp of the subject being discussed. The bully exploits this lack of confidence by berating the guest into submission or compliance. Often, less self-possessed people will feel shame and anxiety when being berated and the quickest way to end the immediate discomfort is to cede authority to the bully. The bully is then able to interpret that as a “win.”
8. Confusion. As with the preceding technique, this one works best on an audience that is less confident and self-possessed. The idea is to deliberately confuse the argument, but insist that the logic is airtight and imply that anyone who disagrees is either too dumb or too fanatical to follow along. Less independent minds will interpret the confusion technique as a form of sophisticated thinking, thereby giving the user’s claims veracity in the viewer’s mind.
9. Populism. This is especially popular in election years. The speakers identifies themselves as one of “the people” and the target of their ire as an enemy of the people. The opponent is always “elitist” or a “bureaucrat” or a “government insider” or some other category that is not the people. The idea is to make the opponent harder to relate to and harder to empathize with. It often goes hand in hand with scapegoating. A common logical fallacy with populism bias when used by the right is that accused “elitists” are almost always liberals – a category of political actors who, by definition, advocate for non-elite groups.
10. Invoking the Christian God. This is similar to othering and populism. With morality politics, the idea is to declare yourself and your allies as patriots, Christians and “real Americans” (those are inseparable categories in this line of thinking) and anyone who challenges them as not. Basically, God loves Fox and Republicans and America. And hates taxes and anyone who doesn’t love those other three things. Because the speaker has been benedicted by God to speak on behalf of all Americans, any challenge is perceived as immoral. It’s a cheap and easy technique used by all totalitarian entities from states to cults.
11. Saturation. There are three components to effective saturation: being repetitive, being ubiquitous and being consistent. The message must be repeated cover and over, it must be everywhere and it must be shared across commentators: e.g. “Saddam has WMD.” Veracity and hard data have no relationship to the efficacy of saturation. There is a psychological effect of being exposed to the same message over and over, regardless of whether it’s true or if it even makes sense, e.g., “Barack Obama wasn’t born in the United States.” If something is said enough times, by enough people, many will come to accept it as truth. Another example is Fox’s own slogan of “Fair and Balanced.”
12. Disparaging Education. There is an emerging and disturbing lack of reverence for education and intellectualism in many mainstream media discourses. In fact, in some circles (e.g. Fox), higher education is often disparaged as elitist. Having a university credential is perceived by these folks as not a sign of credibility, but of a lack of it. In fact, among some commentators, evidence of intellectual prowess is treated snidely and as anti-American. The disdain for education and other evidence of being trained in critical thinking are direct threats to a hive-mind mentality, which is why they are so viscerally demeaned.
13. Guilt by Association. This is a favorite of Glenn Beck and Andrew Breitbart, both of whom have used it to decimate the careers and lives of many good people. Here’s how it works: if your cousin’s college roommate’s uncle’s ex-wife attended a dinner party back in 1984 with Gorbachev’s niece’s ex-boyfriend’s sister, then you, by extension are a communist set on destroying America. Period.
14. Diversion. This is where, when on the ropes, the media commentator suddenly takes the debate in a weird but predictable direction to avoid accountability. This is the point in the discussion where most Fox anchors start comparing the opponent to Saul Alinsky or invoking ACORN or Media Matters, in a desperate attempt to win through guilt by association. Or they’ll talk about wanting to focus on “moving forward,” as though by analyzing the current state of things or God forbid, how we got to this state of things, you have no regard for the future. Any attempt to bring the discussion back to the issue at hand will likely be called deflection, an ironic use of the technique of projection/flipping.
In debating some of these tactics with colleagues and friends, I have also noticed that the Fox viewership seems to be marked by a sort of collective personality disorder whereby the viewer feels almost as though they’ve been let into a secret society. Something about their affiliation with the network makes them feel privileged and this affinity is likely what drives the viewers to defend the network so vehemently. They seem to identify with it at a core level, because it tells them they are special and privy to something the rest of us don’t have. It’s akin to the loyalty one feels by being let into a private club or a gang. That effect is also likely to make the propaganda more powerful, because it goes mostly unquestioned.
In considering these tactics and their possible effects on American public discourse, it is important to note that historically, those who’ve genuinely accessed truth have never berated those who did not. You don’t get honored by history when you beat up your opponent: look at Martin Luther King Jr., Robert Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln. These men did not find the need to engage in othering, ad homeinum attacks, guilt by association or bullying. This is because when a person has accessed a truth, they are not threatened by the opposing views of others. This reality reveals the righteous indignation of people like Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity as a symptom of untruth. These individuals are hostile and angry precisely because they don’t feel confident in their own veracity. And in general, the more someone is losing their temper in a debate and the more intolerant they are of listening to others, the more you can be certain they do not know what they’re talking about.
One final observation. Fox audiences, birthers and Tea Partiers often defend their arguments by pointing to the fact that a lot of people share the same perceptions. This is a reasonable point to the extent that Murdoch’s News Corporation reaches a far larger audience than any other single media outlet. But, the fact that a lot of people believe something is not necessarily a sign that it’s true; it’s just a sign that it’s been effectively marketed.
As honest, fair and truly intellectual debate degrades before the eyes of the global media audience, the quality of American democracy degrades along with it.

Well-funded and highly-organized disinformation operations are in full-swing throughout the internet. From forums to comment boards and even professional websites that have only one purpose: Defame, distract, and destroy the truth.
However organized, the tactics are very predictable in a world filled with lies and half-truths. This, sadly, includes every day news media, one of the worst offenders with respect to being a source of disinformation.
Disinformation campaigns are launched against those seeking to uncover and expose the truth and/or the conspiracy. The H1N1 scandal was a prime example of how hundreds of operations can be launched to sway opinions on the facts. For every fact-based article on the realities of the H1N1 vaccine, there were both very primitive and sophisticated counters on message boards, comment forums and hundreds of alternative and mainstream websites.
Stephen Barrett‘s Quackwatch.com and supporters such as skeptic.org.uk and skepticblog.com are examples of websites who promote both synthetic and organic disinformation on almost any topic that does not concur with mainstream thought.
There are specific tactics which disinfo artists tend to apply, as H. Michael Sweeney has brilliantly detailed. Also included with this material are eight common traits of the disinfo artist which may also prove useful in identifying players and motives. The more a particular party fits the traits and is guilty of following the rules, the more likely they are a professional disinfo artist with a vested motive.
People can be bought, threatened, or blackmailed into providing disinformation, so even “good guys” can be suspect in many cases.
A rational person participating as one interested in the truth will evaluate that chain of evidence and conclude either that the links are solid and conclusive, that one or more links are weak and need further development before conclusion can be arrived at, or that one or more links can be broken, usually invalidating (but not necessarily so, if parallel links already exist or can be found, or if a particular link was merely supportive, but not in itself key) the argument.
The game is played by raising issues which either strengthen or weaken (preferably to the point of breaking) these links. It is the job of a disinfo artist to interfere with these evaluation… to at least make people think the links are weak or broken when, in truth, they are not… or to propose alternative solutions leading away from the truth.
Often, by simply impeding and slowing down the process through disinformation tactics, a level of victory is assured because apathy increases with time and rhetoric.
It would seem true in almost every instance, that if one cannot break the chain of evidence for a given solution, revelation of truth has won out. If the chain is broken either a new link must be forged, or a whole new chain developed, or the solution is invalid an a new one must be found… but truth still wins out. There is no shame in being the creator or supporter of a failed solution, chain, or link, if done with honesty in search of the truth. This is the rational approach.
While it is understandable that a person can become emotionally involved with a particular side of a given issue, it is really unimportant who wins, as long as truth wins.
But the disinfo artist will seek to emotionalize and chastise any failure (real or false claims thereof), and will seek by means of intimidation to prevent discussion in general.
It is the disinfo artist and those who may pull their strings (those who stand to suffer should the crime be solved) MUST seek to prevent rational and complete examination of any chain of evidence which would hang them. Since fact and truth seldom fall on their own, they must be overcome with lies and deceit.
Those who are professional in the art of lies and deceit, such as the intelligence community and the professional criminal (often the same people or at least working together), tend to apply fairly well defined and observable tools in this process.
However, the public at large is not well armed against such weapons, and is often easily led astray by these time-proven tactics. Remarkably, not even media and law enforcement have NOT BEEN TRAINED to deal with these issues.
For the most part, only the players themselves understand the rules of the game.
Twenty-Five Rules of Disinformation
Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil
Regardless of what you know, don’t discuss it – especially if you are a public figure, news anchor, etc. If it’s not reported, it didn’t happen, and you never have to deal with the issues.
Become incredulous and indignant
Avoid discussing key issues and instead focus on side issues which can be used to show the topic as being critical of some otherwise sacrosanct group or theme. This is also known as the ‘How dare you!’ gambit.
Create rumor mongers
Avoid discussing issues by describing all charges, regardless of venue or evidence, as mere rumors and wild accusations. Other derogatory terms mutually exclusive of truth may work as well. This method which works especially well with a silent press, because the only way the public can learn of the facts are through such ‘arguable rumors’. If you can associate the material with the Internet, use this fact to certify it a ‘wild rumor’ from a ‘bunch of kids on the Internet’ which can have no basis in fact.
Use a straw man
Find or create a seeming element of your opponent’s argument which you can easily knock down to make yourself look good and the opponent to look bad. Either make up an issue you may safely imply exists based on your interpretation of the opponent/opponent arguments/situation, or select the weakest aspect of the weakest charges. Amplify their significance and destroy them in a way which appears to debunk all the charges, real and fabricated alike, while actually avoiding discussion of the real issues.
Sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule
This is also known as the primary ‘attack the messenger’ ploy, though other methods qualify as variants of that approach. Associate opponents with unpopular titles such as ‘kooks’, ‘right-wing’, ‘liberal’, ‘left-wing’, ‘terrorists’, ‘conspiracy buffs’, ‘radicals’, ‘militia’, ‘racists’, ‘religious fanatics’, ‘sexual deviates’, and so forth. This makes others shrink from support out of fear of gaining the same label, and you avoid dealing with issues.
Hit and Run
In any public forum, make a brief attack of your opponent or the opponent position and then scamper off before an answer can be fielded, or simply ignore any answer. This works extremely well in Internet and letters-to-the-editor environments where a steady stream of new identities can be called upon without having to explain criticism reasoning – simply make an accusation or other attack, never discussing issues, and never answering any subsequent response, for that would dignify the opponent’s viewpoint.
Twist or amplify any fact which could be taken to imply that the opponent operates out of a hidden personal agenda or other bias. This avoids discussing issues and forces the accuser on the defensive.
Claim for yourself or associate yourself with authority and present your argument with enough ‘jargon’ and ‘minutia’ to illustrate you are ‘one who knows’, and simply say it isn’t so without discussing issues or demonstrating concretely why or citing sources.
No matter what evidence or logical argument is offered, avoid discussing issues except with denials they have any credibility, make any sense, provide any proof, contain or make a point, have logic, or support a conclusion. Mix well for maximum effect.
Associate opponent charges with old news
A derivative of the straw man – usually, in any large-scale matter of high visibility, someone will make charges early on which can be or were already easily dealt with – a kind of investment for the future should the matter not be so easily contained.) Where it can be foreseen, have your own side raise a straw man issue and have it dealt with early on as part of the initial contingency plans. Subsequent charges, regardless of validity or new ground uncovered, can usually then be associated with the original charge and dismissed as simply being a rehash without need to address current issues – so much the better where the opponent is or was involved with the original source.
Establish and rely upon fall-back positions
Using a minor matter or element of the facts, take the ‘high road’ and ‘confess’ with candor that some innocent mistake, in hindsight, was made – but that opponents have seized on the opportunity to blow it all out of proportion and imply greater criminalities which, ‘just isn’t so.’ Others can reinforce this on your behalf, later, and even publicly ‘call for an end to the nonsense’ because you have already ‘done the right thing.’ Done properly, this can garner sympathy and respect for ‘coming clean’ and ‘owning up’ to your mistakes without addressing more serious issues.
Enigmas have no solution
Drawing upon the overall umbrella of events surrounding the crime and the multitude of players and events, paint the entire affair as too complex to solve. This causes those otherwise following the matter to begin to loose interest more quickly without having to address the actual issues.
Alice in Wonderland Logic
Avoid discussion of the issues by reasoning backwards or with an apparent deductive logic which forbears any actual material fact.
Demand complete solutions
Avoid the issues by requiring opponents to solve the crime at hand completely, a ploy which works best with issues qualifying for rule 10.
Fit the facts to alternate conclusions
This requires creative thinking unless the crime was planned with contingency conclusions in place.
Vanish evidence and witnesses
If it does not exist, it is not fact, and you won’t have to address the issue.
Change the subject
Usually in connection with one of the other ploys listed here, find a way to side-track the discussion with abrasive or controversial comments in hopes of turning attention to a new, more manageable topic. This works especially well with companions who can ‘argue’ with you over the new topic and polarize the discussion arena in order to avoid discussing more key issues.
Emotionalize, Antagonize, and Goad Opponents
If you can’t do anything else, chide and taunt your opponents and draw them into emotional responses which will tend to make them look foolish and overly motivated, and generally render their material somewhat less coherent. Not only will you avoid discussing the issues in the first instance, but even if their emotional response addresses the issue, you can further avoid the issues by then focusing on how ‘sensitive they are to criticism.’
Ignore facts presented, demand impossible proofs
This is perhaps a variant of the ‘play dumb’ rule. Regardless of what material may be presented by an opponent in public forums, claim the material irrelevant and demand proof that is impossible for the opponent to come by (it may exist, but not be at his disposal, or it may be something which is known to be safely destroyed or withheld, such as a murder weapon.) In order to completely avoid discussing issues, it may be required that you to categorically deny and be critical of media or books as valid sources, deny that witnesses are acceptable, or even deny that statements made by government or other authorities have any meaning or relevance.
Whenever possible, introduce new facts or clues designed and manufactured to conflict with opponent presentations – as useful tools to neutralize sensitive issues or impede resolution. This works best when the crime was designed with contingencies for the purpose, and the facts cannot be easily separated from the fabrications.
Call a Grand Jury, Special Prosecutor, or other empowered investigative body
Subvert the (process) to your benefit and effectively neutralize all sensitive issues without open discussion. Once convened, the evidence and testimony are required to be secret when properly handled. For instance, if you own the prosecuting attorney, it can insure a Grand Jury hears no useful evidence and that the evidence is sealed an unavailable to subsequent investigators. Once a favorable verdict is achieved, the matter can be considered officially closed. Usually, this technique is applied to find the guilty innocent, but it can also be used to obtain charges when seeking to frame a victim.
Manufacture a new truth
Create your own expert(s), group(s), author(s), leader(s) or influence existing ones willing to forge new ground via scientific, investigative, or social research or testimony which concludes favorably. In this way, if you must actually address issues, you can do so authoritatively.
Create bigger distractions
If the above does not seem to be working to distract from sensitive issues, or to prevent unwanted media coverage of unstoppable events such as trials, create bigger news stories (or treat them as such) to distract the multitudes.
If the above methods do not prevail, consider removing opponents from circulation by some definitive solution so that the need to address issues is removed entirely. This can be by their death, arrest and detention, blackmail or destruction of their character by release of blackmail information, or merely by destroying them financially, emotionally, or severely damaging their health.
If you are a key holder of secrets or otherwise overly illuminated and you think the heat is getting too hot, to avoid the issues, vacate the kitchen.
Eight Traits of the Disinformationalist
They never actually discuss issues head-on or provide constructive input, generally avoiding citation of references or credentials. Rather, they merely imply this, that, and the other. Virtually everything about their presentation implies their authority and expert knowledge in the matter without any further justification for credibility.
They tend to pick and choose opponents carefully, either applying the hit-and-run approach against mere commentators supportive of opponents, or focusing heavier attacks on key opponents who are known to directly address issues. Should a commentator become argumentative with any success, the focus will shift to include the commentator as well.
They tend to surface suddenly and somewhat coincidentally with a new controversial topic with no clear prior record of participation in general discussions in the particular public arena involved. They likewise tend to vanish once the topic is no longer of general concern. They were likely directed or elected to be there for a reason, and vanish with the reason.
They tend to operate in self-congratulatory and complementary packs or teams. Of course, this can happen naturally in any public forum, but there will likely be an ongoing pattern of frequent exchanges of this sort where professionals are involved. Sometimes one of the players will infiltrate the opponent camp to become a source for straw man or other tactics designed to dilute opponent presentation strength.
They almost always have disdain for ‘conspiracy theorists’ and, usually, for those who in any way believe JFK was not killed by LHO. Ask yourself why, if they hold such disdain for conspiracy theorists, do they focus on defending a single topic discussed in a NG focusing on conspiracies? One might think they would either be trying to make fools of everyone on every topic, or simply ignore the group they hold in such disdain. Or, one might more rightly conclude they have an ulterior motive for their actions in going out of their way to focus as they do.
An odd kind of ‘artificial’ emotionalism and an unusually thick skin – an ability to persevere and persist even in the face of overwhelming criticism and unacceptance. This likely stems from intelligence community training that, no matter how condemning the evidence, deny everything, and never become emotionally involved or reactive. The net result for a disinfo artist is that emotions can seem artificial. Most people, if responding in anger, for instance, will express their animosity throughout their rebuttal.
But disinfo types usually have trouble maintaining the ‘image’ and are hot and cold with respect to pretended emotions and their usually more calm or unemotional communications style. It’s just a job, and they often seem unable to ‘act their role in character’ as well in a communications medium as they might be able in a real face-to-face conversation/confrontation.
You might have outright rage and indignation one moment, ho-hum the next, and more anger later – an emotional yo-yo. With respect to being thick-skinned, no amount of criticism will deter them from doing their job, and they will generally continue their old disinfo patterns without any adjustments to criticisms of how obvious it is that they play that game – where a more rational individual who truly cares what others think might seek to improve their communications style, substance, and so forth, or simply give up.
There is also a tendency to make mistakes which betray their true self/motives. This may stem from not really knowing their topic, or it may be somewhat ‘freudian’, so to speak, in that perhaps they really root for the side of truth deep within.
I have noted that often, they will simply cite contradictory information which neutralizes itself and the author. For instance, one such player claimed to be a Navy pilot, but blamed his poor communicating skills (spelling, grammar, incoherent style) on having only a grade-school education.
I’m not aware of too many Navy pilots who don’t have a college degree. Another claimed no knowledge of a particular topic/situation but later claimed first-hand knowledge of it.
There are three ways this can be seen to work, especially when the government or other empowered player is involved in a cover up operation:
ANY NG posting by a targeted proponent for truth can result in an IMMEDIATE response. The government and other empowered players can afford to pay people to sit there and watch for an opportunity to do some damage. SINCE DISINFO IN A NG ONLY WORKS IF THE READER SEES IT – FAST RESPONSE IS CALLED FOR, or the visitor may be swayed towards truth.
When dealing in more direct ways with a disinformationalist, such as email, DELAY IS CALLED FOR – there will usually be a minimum of a 48-72 hour delay. This allows a sit-down team discussion on response strategy for best effect, and even enough time to ‘get permission’ or instruction from a formal chain of command.
In the NG example a) above, it will often ALSO be seen that bigger guns are drawn and fired after the same 48-72 hours delay – the team approach in play. This is especially true when the targeted truth seeker or their comments are considered more important with respect to potential to reveal truth. Thus, a serious truth sayer will be attacked twice for the same sin.
Remarkably, not even media and law enforcement have NOT BEEN TRAINED to deal with these issues.
For the most part, only the players themselves understand the rules of the game.
